    1. Not close enough to smell him, no. ha. Although I was about 2 feet from him, but I was more concerned with trying to scare him off than noticing any odors. lol...

    1. No, he didn't act agressive or scared either one! ha. You know how blinded they are by light...well, I turned on the porch light and yelled at him and he looked up but almost around and through me, like he really couldn't see! ha. If only I'd been in my jeep! hahaha.

Speaking of playing possum...have you seen that commercial where the dad gets a possum for his kids? Hilarious.

    3. Oh, I know! Those GEICO commercials get me every time. I've posted several on my blog over the years. They are the most hilarious. Although, I can't seem to stop laughing at the Hanes Tagless commercials with Michael Jordan, either. lol....

  10. Hi there...I love your header! Well, this certainly is an interesting little fellow! You do attract the little ones! I think it is a bit cute! Thanks for your visit, you always come to say hi even though I am not blogging as much, thanks. Our temples are more than a church house, it is a special place where covenants, promises are made between God and us. Where marriages are sealed for all time and all eternity, if we live for that. Our temples and church houses are always paid for as they are built, from tithing of church members. It the past and it other countries, a church house might be an apartment, or any place where people can freely meet and come together with God. You have a great week my friend. :)

  11. Look at its presence as a sign. A sign that creatures great and small have their place.
Even at your kitty's dinner spot.

Oh... and it also a sign to move kitty's food indoors. :)

    1. yep...move it indoors. ha....very good idea, indeed! :)

  14. We have possums at the lake...we had a baby one in the pool here at home, and he was swimming around in circles..so we picked him out with the net!!!hahahaha...there was one a few years ago, who used to look in thru the patio door...my son nick-named him "Perry Possum"... they are pretty darn ugly and vicious if provoked....great shot, Betsy!

    Cheers!

  15. What a surprise! Reminds me of that eye glasses commercial where the lady is hollering "here kitty, kitty" and a raccoon shows up. :) I went to any auction yesterday! We didn't have any fun things in our trash though. I bid on some things for my husband and got them. What fun! I think I'm hooked.

    1. yep...that is a very funny commercial. Would be me without my contacts in for sure. Heaven forbid a possum ever comes in to cuddle in my bed! hahaha!

  16. OMGoodness! Egads!! I hope it left in a hurry.

I'd rather have a raccoon come to the backdoor.
We had a possum accidentally get inside the back fence.
But when it saw us, it made a B-line for the opposite end
in search of a way out. Even the dog was smart enough not
to chase after it. They can be seriously MEAN!!

    1. Well, this one wasn't scared of me at all! I had seen him in the neighborhood before....on the opposite end of the street...I was hoping he'd stay on that end! ha.

  17. Betsy, the word is out! Every creature big and small knows to head to your doorstep for the free food, and good tender care. If the wife ever runs me out, I may even show up there as well. Hahahahahaha.....

  19. LOL! Oh, Betsy, we had one of these little guys so up last summer. At first, we thought Opie was cute... then Opie got MEAN. LOL! He would HISSSS at us if we came near him while he was eating from Velvet's bowl!! AND, the had taken up residence under our house... WITH his fleas!! Had to call the city to trap our little visitor. ;)
