First Signs Of Fall

Happy September!  My all time favorite month. :)
I took these photos while I was out and about this week and thought how they reminded me that summer is ending.
Signs for pumpkin farms, golden dried corn, and leaves turning color.  Now if the temperatures would
just feel like fall! ha.  It's so hot and humid it's like a sauna outside!

    1. A little early, yes. Most farms sell them in October! I'm not ready to put out fall decoration yet, anyway. I don't do that until the official first day of fall, which just happens to be my birthday! ha...so that is a fun way to celebrate.

September is a bittersweet month, but still one of my favorites. Can't help but love October and the colors it brings. Maybe I'll even decorate for fall this year. :)

  11. I am all to familiar with the sauna like atmosphere. We are all too eager for any little breeze that comes our way. We were hoping to get some rain coming from Isaac and we barely got any! Back to watering the lawn! Pumpkin farms. I might just have to track some down here just to get my seasonal fix. Have a good Monday/Labor Day!

  14. September is my favorite month too! Of course it is my birthday month too so that adds to it...lol. Hot in Va. too, wish it would start to feel more like September. Love your pre-fall photos. :-)

  15. Hi Betsy,

We will still be hot in September and basically have no changing of the leaves except on a few trees here and there. It does not get cold enough to do that, which is a good thing or no one would get avocadoes or citrus fruits. Maybe one or two nights a year will cool to below 32. People here can barely handle it below 50, and if it rains, whoa, accidents everywhere. We are too spoiled by our weather. But we love it. I hope it cools down soon, I like summer breezes.

Oh and I posted a video over at Theme Thursday that you might like, it has kitties in it.

    God bless.

  16. I was just commenting yesterday about how excited I am that soon I can put pumpkins on the front steps, go apple picking and do all of those fall things I adore. I was born at the beginning of November and have always thought late October/early November to be a magical, perfect time of the year. Bring on the colors!

  20. I was thinking about fall last week. Usually by this time every summer, leaves are beginning to fall, but not this year. Then I realized that those leaves fall so soon because the summer dries then up and roasts them...not because the temperature has changed even one tiny degree. This year the leaves are still green, because even though it has been super hot and HUMID, we have had plenty of rain for once.

Hopefully, this miserable summer will be followed by a spectacular autumn.

  22. Somehow my brain is still stuck in August.
When you mentioned September, I said to myself, she's right.
The tips of the trees turning are always a definite sign of Autumn tip-toeing in.
