Fingers Crossed

Alex, waiting to leave for school Thursday morning.

He crosses his fingers when he's anxious.
I hadn't seen him do this since the day they
had to get blood drawn. Melts this mom's heart.
Not sure what the problem was, but I was driving them to school that morning,
which is not our normal routine of The Mister dropping them off
on his way to work.  And we were ready a few minutes early.
It might have just been that little change in plans, and having
to wait to leave, that left him worrying.
But we went on to school and he had a good day. :)

These cards are now in the shop, sold individually!

    1. Yes, and usually the situation shows me what is wrong, but this time I had to think a while. I think it was that little routine change. :)

  4. They pull at our heart strings sometimes. Wish we could ease all their anxiety. Kids lives are so stressful these days. Give them a hug from us.

  9. I am not sure that I would have taken him to school. I think I would have taken him out for a nice ice cream cone and then taken him to school or maybe not. But then I am a woose and always give in to the kids, oh okay, not always but then sometimes I just cannot help but give in and this would be one of them. You are such a good Mom. And nice cards by the way.

    God bless.

    1. ice cream and then to school late...that would have messed with the routine even more! haha. He would have been very anxious if I dropped off his brothers and drove him some place else. He probably would have thought he was going to the doctor or something! ha. He was fine as soon as he put on his backpack and we got going. But that little finger cross is always sweet, I think. :)

  10. How precious! It tugs at me soooo much when I see a child "worrying" about something. Especially when we have no clue what's troubling them. Us parents want to fix everything, don't we!?!

    1. yes, there sure is enough stuff to worry about when we are adults. Kids should be carefree as long as possible, in my opinion!

  11. Back from my trip, and so nice to come back to my blog friends. A simple gesture, but such meaning, and a mom who sees, and understands. So glad it turned into a good day.

The cards on beautiful, and there are a couple there I'd never seen!

  12. Aww, glad Alex had a good day even though he was anxious in the morning. Hate to see our kids anxious. Davin was so upset the first day of school and all I could think about was how I was going to let him drop out because I couldn't do that every day. Thankfully it only lasted one day;-)
