So I found this little welcome sign. Nice and sturdy with hangers on the back.
But...ugly....well, in my opinion. :)
I couldn't figure out the black dalmatian spots and the eye placement on the bird was all wrong.
I got out my paints and redid the front.
Now, I think that bird is much better! :)
A pine bough, pine cones and a free handed message...
I left the chippy paint on the edges and the hangers on the back.
A before and after story!
If you're interested, I put it in the shop today!
A fun little afternoon project.
What did you do today?

DeleteWow. what an improvement! And how fabulous that it sold...so quickly, too.
ReplyDeleteI know...I was surprised...and happy! ;)
DeleteI really like how you made it so much prettier and I was not surprised at how fast it was snatched up. You could probably add making "Welcome" signs to one of the many businesses that you do. I know you have to be getting ready for basket season to be gearing up pretty soon. It is almost that time of year again. I truly never know how you find the time to do so much. You totally master your time that is for sure.
ReplyDeleteAny way Pinterest is pretty easy and other than to say that you first make boards, then start pinning things to them, follow others who follow you and others who's pins you like and then pin things on your own. I think that just about covers it. Oh and you need to add a "Pin it" button to your toolbar so that way you can pin anything you find on the computer. It is a very easy thing to do. I think they have a help or about section in there. And if you pin something to the wrong board then you just repin it to the correct board and then delete it from the wrong board. Or if you double and triple pin something then you can delete it too. Or you can leave them alone and have it pinned again and again. It is just a fun way to share what one finds on the internet because there is so dang much stuff out there and we do not have the time to visit every site.
All I can say is be afraid, be very afraid, I mean really afraid of losing all sense of time once you enter the world of Pinterest. Which is funny because I had posted something about it in this weeks new Theme Thursday and then saw it in your's and Gloria's comments. And I try to only go there once a week or maybe twice, but I was looking for a recipe the other day and now I have so many pins that I am not even sure if I remember pinning them. Oh my!
God bless.
oh yes...basket season! haha....November is when it hits for me!
DeleteThanks for the tips on Pinterest! I need to just sit down and do it!
haha...oh, I can see how it would be easy to sit there all day! Kind of like blogging! ha.
Obviously I am behind here...sold already? I can see why! Beautiful re-do!
ReplyDeleteIt was only in the shop an hour or so! ha.
DeleteWhat didn't I do??? That's the question...
ReplyDeleteYour little sign is very sweet... :o)

DeleteYou have such a creative eye for these things. Love the balance in your "new" version.
ReplyDeleteyes, I think it's much nicer to look at. ha.
DeleteYOUR version is MUCH better! DARLING!
ReplyDeleteThe Mister said, "Aren't you going to keep that?" I said, no...I hope someone buys it! ha.
DeleteBeautiful...love the pine boughs and cones. Reminds me of our giant pine tree. And the cute bird fits in perfectly. Sounds like you had a creative day : )
ReplyDeleteWe went to the Feast of the Hunters Moon on Saturday. And on Sunday attended a recital for a church organ dedication, that unks choir sang in. We had perfect fall weather here.
oh, your day sounds very nice!
Deletereally enjoying seeing your creativity in action! Wonderful job!
