Happy Thoughts

farmland near my home

Things that made me smile recently....

  1. Rolls of hay on freshly mowed fields.
  2. Long evening shadows across the grass.
  3. Kitten antics.
  4. Spencer pulling up Amazon.com to show me some DVD's he wants to order.  Then waiting anxiously for The Mister to come home with the mail to see if they have arrived.
  5. Alex, all smiles, as we drive to school.
  6. Starry nights.
  7. Crickets chirping through open windows.
  8. Cool mornings and hot coffee.
  9. Tomatoes fresh from the garden.
  10. Quiet days at home alone.
  11. Seeing the very first leaves turn orange.
  12. Morning fog.

    And get there soon
Hopefully the fog doesn't last until noon

  16. The other day a flock of geese flew over head in a perfect vee. They were so close I could hear the flapping of their wings. I smiled, tucked it away, and added it to my list later that evening. :)

  23. Love the positioning of the house in the bottom far corner with so much sky.
Speaks volumes. It just wouldn't have been the same if it was cropped. (takes notes)

    Beautiful and amusing thoughts.
    7. Crickets chirping through open windows.
    8. Cool mornings and hot coffee.
These may go hand in hand for me as the crickets seem to linger far into the mornings.
I wonder if they haven't noticed the sun was up. Perhaps they missed that memo.

    1. You know, Deb...I took several shots of that house centered, closer, etc. And this one, just like you said, was the best....just the vastness of the sky above it was my favorite part!

I do miss that cricket sound in the winter!
