I is for Icecream in Pastel Colors

please click on drawing to enlarge it

Well I had quite a challenge for this post!  Tuesday the 10th is Creative Tuesday's
challenge for a drawing using the theme Pastel Colors.  It is also the day for a post on something
that begins with the letter I for the April's A to Z Challenge.  And then, my own personal tradition of getting a bird in the drawing added to the complication. ha ha.  I thought ice cream could
be used for both...if the flavors were pastel colored, of course.

For my chocolate dipped waffle cone I drew a triple scoop in strawberry, peach
and key lime coconut.  Yep, I would have no trouble at all finishing off
this sweet treat all by myself!  And it looks like baby bluebird agrees!

Now if it didn't have to be in pastel colors, my triple dip choice would have been
dark chocolate turtle, black raspberry chocolate chunk, pralines and cream
and coconut.  Oops..that's four!  Do they serve cones with four dips?  ha ha.

What's your favorite flavors for a triple dip?

  3. Mixed them all in quite grand
    Here at your land
Always have to have the bird
    To not would be absurd
But the ice cream you can keep
You can have the whole heap
    For dairy is just scary
To Pat and the cat who is hairy

    1. they need to make a cone from Pringles
invent one and make your pockets jingle
for everything is the sweet-salty combo now
I know you hate dairy...don't have a cow.
      lol.

    2. LOL well I won't have the cow
Maybe I'll trade it for some beans some how
Then go steal a golden egg from above
And fly back on a magic dove
      All from ice cream
      You bring such a dream

    3. swing on a bean stalk in the clouds
and you've got all the rhymes covered some how.
And how is it that we've never
called you the Mad Hatter in your rhyming endeavors
seems to fit you and your rendition
      I think I'll start a new tradition!
      lol

    1. did you know the only bird that begins with I is an Ibis? They look a little like a flamingo...and it would have been pastel, too! That was my only other choice to combine the two challenges. ha.

    1. I'm with you...I tend to take the dark rich flavors!

I want to divide that plant and make it line my flower bed. I was going to do that first thing in the spring...but spring sprang too early! ha.

  23. Just catching up - I nearly didn't get past that enormous and scrummy Easter food post - but I did, and then find ice cream! You know how to make a body hungry! I've been eating ice cream over Easter too; mine was a creamy vanilla with honeycomb toffee pieces.

  26. Betsy, oh, I love Ice Cream, the more scoops the better and for it to be a chocolate dipped cone as well- well yummy. Love that little bird waiting for the ice cream to fall, abstractly reminds me of a momma bird feeding her child with the worms. But I won't dwell on the worms too long, it might make me lose my appetite for the ice cream:)

    1. haha...oh worms, don't bother me. I had pet worms when I was a girl...or tomboy, I should say. haha.

  28. That's very clever, Betsy, combining all those elements. Hee. Well done too. that little chick is more than going to eat it;s weight in cream! :)

Somehow I can't imagine you'd eat the entire thing--maybe scoops from each lump? Well, all I can say is that I've never had a triple dollop cone before and if I haven't already, I doubt I'll start now.

    ReplyDelete

    1. well, I'd certainly try to eat it. After icecream melts it doesn't take up any room in your stomach, right? ha.

  29. Fantastic post and artwork!

I've never had three scoops of ice cream in a cone, but I'd say chocolate or chocolate walnut on top, banana walnut (or Chunky Monkey) in the middle, and chocolate peanut butter on the bottom. Oh, and it would be in a cake cone instead of a waffle cone, although I can't imagine three scoops would fit!
