Well I had quite a challenge for this post! Tuesday the 10th is Creative Tuesday's
challenge for a drawing using the theme Pastel Colors. It is also the day for a post on something
that begins with the letter I for the April's A to Z Challenge. And then, my own personal tradition of getting a bird in the drawing added to the complication. ha ha. I thought ice cream could
be used for both...if the flavors were pastel colored, of course.
For my chocolate dipped waffle cone I drew a triple scoop in strawberry, peach
and key lime coconut. Yep, I would have no trouble at all finishing off
this sweet treat all by myself! And it looks like baby bluebird agrees!
Now if it didn't have to be in pastel colors, my triple dip choice would have been
dark chocolate turtle, black raspberry chocolate chunk, pralines and cream
and coconut. Oops..that's four! Do they serve cones with four dips? ha ha.
What's your favorite flavors for a triple dip?
♥
Love it!! you're doing a great job with these! Hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend!
ReplyDeletethanks, Martha! Yes, we had a nice Easter, did you?
Deleteyes we did! it was wonderful to see everyone and to be at "home" again! It's beautiful there!
DeleteLove this Betsy! You know I love Ice cream look yumm!!
ReplyDeleteLove the cone lol!
Deletethe cone was the funnest part to draw! ha.
DeleteMixed them all in quite grand
ReplyDeleteHere at your land
Always have to have the bird
To not would be absurd
But the ice cream you can keep
You can have the whole heap
For dairy is just scary
To Pat and the cat who is hairy
they need to make a cone from Pringles
Deleteinvent one and make your pockets jingle
for everything is the sweet-salty combo now
I know you hate dairy...don't have a cow.
lol.
LOL well I won't have the cow
DeleteMaybe I'll trade it for some beans some how
Then go steal a golden egg from above
And fly back on a magic dove
All from ice cream
You bring such a dream
swing on a bean stalk in the clouds
Deleteand you've got all the rhymes covered some how.
And how is it that we've never
called you the Mad Hatter in your rhyming endeavors
seems to fit you and your rendition
I think I'll start a new tradition!
lol
I really like this, the bird is so cute catching the drip of icecream, either combo sounds very good to me!
ReplyDeletedid you know the only bird that begins with I is an Ibis? They look a little like a flamingo...and it would have been pastel, too! That was my only other choice to combine the two challenges. ha.
DeletePastel colored ice cream flavors I could pass on...give me chocolate anyday. Your bleeding heart plant is huge!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you...I tend to take the dark rich flavors!
DeleteI want to divide that plant and make it line my flower bed. I was going to do that first thing in the spring...but spring sprang too early! ha.
I am in love with that drawing!!! You did such a great job of working all 3 of your challenges into one post :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. Now I want ice cream!
Hope you had a great holiday!
thanks, jax. :) yes, had a nice holiday weekend. Can't wait to hear about yours. Did you eat everything with chopsticks?
DeleteI did not. If I tried to pull that, my family may have hit me with chopsticks. LOL!!! Glad to hears yours went well :)
Deletehit you with them? lol....well, I guess that's better than poking you with them! haha. Glad you got to use regular silverware. :) bet it was yummy!
DeleteMine would have to be butter pecan, pralines and cream, and orange sherbet. Now I'm really craving ice cream. Another wonderful drawing, Betsy.
ReplyDeleteI love pralines and cream but not butter pecan! Isn't that crazy? ha. Orange sherbet always reminds me of creamsicles and childhood!
DeleteMocha Almond Fudge, Homemade Vanilla and Butter Pecan... for starters! LOL! Love your drawing, Betsy! blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteyummy on the mocha almond fudge...need to find that one!
DeleteYour drawings are always so imaginative, Betsy! I peeked down at your post about your Easter dinner ...yum!
ReplyDeletethanks, Pat...hope you had a lovely easter, too!
Deleteraspberry chocolate chunk all the way...ha...maybe a choco-peanut butter and a straight up raspberry...on a waffle cone...
ReplyDeleteoh yeah...we're twins. ha.
Deleteand nice drawing...smiles...
ReplyDeletethanks, bri...
DeleteDid you draw this yourself? If so I'm impressed! Sounds like you have a lot of challenges right now!
ReplyDeleteGlad to find you from the A to Z challenge..#893

well, yes, I did! :) I'm glad you found me! :)
DeleteWhat a perfect combination for the two memes. The drawing is so darling and the anticipation on that baby birds face waiting for that drop! So adorable.
ReplyDeleteI love dark chocolate turtle, any coffee swirl ice cream, and vanilla bean!
thanks, wanda...this one was fun once I decided what I was doing!
DeleteNow that cone sounds very delicious. I could certainly finish that off! yum! So glad to have you back to the blogging, too! You have been missed!
Appétissant !
ReplyDelete:-)
Pierre
thanks, pierre!
DeleteLove your creative process! And the little birdie is adorable!
ReplyDeleteI love pistachio, chocolate and erm.. chocolate! LOL! Take care
x
now that sounds like a delicious cone!
DeleteI have never had a triple dip! BUT, I could NEVER mix flavors! OH NO!!!!! I have a little OCD that way! :)
ReplyDeletehaha..oh, I could mix flavors but they would have to be complimentary to each other! Not every flavor goes together! lol.
DeleteLove your pastel ice cream cone. The whole piece is drawn and painted so well. Your cheeky birdie getting the melting ice cream, as well. Fabulous!
ReplyDeletethanks, linda...the little bird does look a little cheeky, doesn't he? ha.
DeleteYUMMY!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the cone too - looks like my favorite, the waffle cone...and of course, darling job on the hungry bird!!!!!
hope you had a great easter!
xo
yep...the waffle cone is my favorite, too! Had a very nice easter and hope you did as well!
DeleteThis is BEAUTIFUL! When you're making the cone, you get as many scoops as you want.
ReplyDeletewell I like that rule! :)
DeleteI loved the little bird too Betsy!!
ReplyDeletethanks, gloria...you know I have to include one!
DeleteYes I know dear betsy!
DeleteWhat a cute picture! Love it!!
ReplyDeletethanks, lady!
DeleteAw, the birdie wants some ice-cream! So cute, and it's great color contrast that the bird is so vibrant while the pistachio, perhaps? And other ice-cream flavors are so delicate and pastel-y. Great work!
ReplyDeleteyep...pastel-y is what I was going for! haha. Pistachio would be delish. yum.
DeleteYour ice cream looks sooo delicious! Wonderful details.
ReplyDeletethanks, christine...makes me want some myself!
DeleteOh, you are so talented. I would love to be able to draw like that. The scene is adorable. We just returned from Missouri where we have our indulgence of "custard". It's like ice cream but a bit creamier, if you can imagine that!
ReplyDeletefrozen custard...oh my, I can just imagine! yum!
DeleteWell done! What a great drawing to represent both A-Z and CT. And, of course, I love the hungry little bird.
ReplyDeletethanks, dear...had to muse on it for a day or two but I finally figured out how to do both! ha.
DeleteJust catching up - I nearly didn't get past that enormous and scrummy Easter food post - but I did, and then find ice cream! You know how to make a body hungry! I've been eating ice cream over Easter too; mine was a creamy vanilla with honeycomb toffee pieces.
ReplyDeletehoneycomb toffee pieces...be still my heart! lol. Oh that sounds amazing. :)
DeleteOh yummmmmmmmmmmmyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!! What a gorgeous picture!
ReplyDeleteI would have moose tracks, mint chocolate chip, and chocolate. I used to work at an ice cream shop, and yes they make four dip cones. :)
I love all three of your choices...yummy cone that would be! :)
DeleteAwwww. Always love the CT pictures.
ReplyDeleteWhen are you gonna do something I can ridicule? You're ruining my reputation!!!
I culd leve som tipows. Wuld that hep?
DeleteI read your comment and almost had a heart attack. I thought you were saying something about teepees, and in my sleep deprived state I couldn't see the relivence to Silver's comment.
DeleteWhat a relief to discover you were only picking on Silver. :)
Betsy, oh, I love Ice Cream, the more scoops the better and for it to be a chocolate dipped cone as well- well yummy. Love that little bird waiting for the ice cream to fall, abstractly reminds me of a momma bird feeding her child with the worms. But I won't dwell on the worms too long, it might make me lose my appetite for the ice cream:)
ReplyDeletehaha...oh worms, don't bother me. I had pet worms when I was a girl...or tomboy, I should say. haha.
Deleteyummy lovely ice cream! especially the cone most definitely looks good enough to eat - definitely the bird is enjoying himself!
ReplyDeletethanks alicia...I've been wanting one of these ever since I drew it! ha.
DeleteThat's very clever, Betsy, combining all those elements. Hee. Well done too. that little chick is more than going to eat it;s weight in cream! :)
ReplyDeleteSomehow I can't imagine you'd eat the entire thing--maybe scoops from each lump? Well, all I can say is that I've never had a triple dollop cone before and if I haven't already, I doubt I'll start now.
well, I'd certainly try to eat it. After icecream melts it doesn't take up any room in your stomach, right? ha.
DeleteFantastic post and artwork!
ReplyDeleteI've never had three scoops of ice cream in a cone, but I'd say chocolate or chocolate walnut on top, banana walnut (or Chunky Monkey) in the middle, and chocolate peanut butter on the bottom. Oh, and it would be in a cake cone instead of a waffle cone, although I can't imagine three scoops would fit!
Ellie
Aw, very sweet (no pun intended!)... love the bird and the detail in your cone! Nice work!
ReplyDeleteCute picture! I think mine would be Mint Chocolate chip, Cookie dough and blackcherry cheesecake!
