What I Did Wednesday #24

  1. Cleaned and organized the top of my desk.  Dusted, clipped coupons and threw out the trash.
  2. Watched Charcoal through the window as he caught and ate a bug.
  3. Got a call from school to pick up Harry.  Pink eye?  We'll check it out at the doctor tomorrow.  Just our luck that the doctor isn't in on Wednesdays. Had to laugh as he was back home by 9:30AM but immediately sat down and ate the lunch in his lunchbox.  I fed him breakfast...really!
  4. My side yard flowerbed is full of blooming daffodils.  Lovely!  They are usually short lived as the frost usually gets them, but this year I don't know...sure feels like June out there!
  5. Lovely Juncos were enjoying the weather, too!
  6. This kitchen drawer opened on it's own like this at least 6 tines today.  Kind of creepy!  Maybe it has something to do with my broom standing on it's own?  ha ha.
  7. Found some purple anemones outside the front door.  Love that color!
  8. Re-potted several indoor plants.  Love this lacy fern.  She seems to like her new pot!
  9. Found this baby toad with his mama.  He was very friendly, too.
  10. Started soaking some morning glory seeds to plant later.  They do better if they have a head start in some water!  I love how the blue engulfs my picket fence.  I plant them on the side where I can enjoy them every time I pull in the driveway, which goes to the garage at the back of the house.
  11. Noticed Mr. Neighbor Man fiddling with his clothesline.  I guess the tightie whities are going to be blowing in the breeze again. lol.
  12. Scrubbed the kitchen floor.  Yep, look at that dirty water.  It looks so much better now!

What did you do today?
Whatever it was, I hope it was a lovely day!

    1. And you're on a heavy "flower theme" this week, aren't you?

      Delete
    2. actually, these are the first flowers all week! Maybe you have me confused with someone else. :)

      Delete
    3. Okay, how 'bout if I change that to "plant theme" and point out today's post and yesterday's? :)

    4. And your Creative Tuesday shamrock???

    5. that would make more sense, yes! :)

    6. Shamrock would have counted anyway... [ducks]

  2. sounds like a productive day :) the flowers are lovely! I need to lift most of my daffys because they don't bloom the best the last two years. Gotta replant and thin them. I chased down a whole bunch of groceries for a pizza party Friday night here and some fundraiser cheesecake baking. The sunshine makes everything better! Hope the 'pinkeye'? doesn't spread to the rest of you!

    2. Oh, that's right Serena and I planted some pansies and morning glory seeds as well. I told the boys,"There are flowers on my front porch and on the deck again, I feel complete once more." ha

    3. Flowers in pots is one of my favorite things about making a home look like spring! Our front porch is full sun, though and things don't do well there. We have a little courtyard on the side with a fountain and pergola where most things thrive. I'm not going to do that just yet. You are so brave! It seems too early!

      Delete
    4. courtyard, fountain, pergola, sounds lovely! and I'm sure beauitful in the summer with your flower touch added. I don't consider myself really brave, just in desperate need of color that looks alive! Looks so warm and inviting with flowers. and pansies are forgiving if the weather turns chilly.

    5. it's a nice little spot with minimal sun. I do plants best that way. ha. I always seem to have them dry out or burn out. ha.

You're right..pansies do well in the cooler weather! And you can always move the pots inside if necessary.

      Delete
    6. Have you tried using cheap pampers in the bottom of your flower pots to reduce watering? I use them in almost all the pots and window boxes. Makes it so much easier.

      Delete
    7. No..I've never heard of that! Oh the rumors that will start if anyone sees me buying Pampers. lol...

  3. Your days are so full, and always sounds like a fun time :)
That is one warty toad !
I'm soaking my Morning Glory seeds too, last year I planted way to many, and too late, by the time the flowers emerged, we had frost :(
I couldn't help but laugh at the sight of Harry eating his lunch out of his lunchbox at home..
And must comment on that precious picture on your sidebar, of the triplets......absolutely heartstopping !
I washed porches and windows today, and moved a Bluebird box to a better location, although Oliver doesn't agree !

    1. I've done the same thing with the seeds before! And the frost always comes here when they are at their peak at the beginning of fall. :(

I love that photo of the triplets, too. It was taken for a magazine article.

I need to wash windows! The one at the kitchen sink is spotted!

  14. I need to pick up the pace on my Wednesdays. Did help the mister replace a kitchen light and hang two new ceiling fans. After shopping for them also and taking him (the mister) to the eye doctor. Not near as fun as your day. And I'm still thinking vortex in the kitchen. I tried my broom...it's already angled and it didn't stand up. :(

    1. Oooh, you were very busy! How nice to get the light and fans done!

Hate to tell you, but my broom is one of those Leibmans that have the deep angle! It still stood! Vortex, huh. Hmmm. :)

I hope that is not true
That haunted kitchen is really get out of control
You need the ghostbusters to take a stroll
The bug looks like it went down a bit rough
    Probably tasted rather tough..haha
And the tight whities will shine
    On his fixed up clothesline
    As you rest your feet
In the sink to beat the heat

    1. We'll find out tomorrow about his eye
Today getting drops in it has been such a delight.
lol. He shuts his eyes tight as trap doors
and locks his hands over his face for more
      security.
      Doesn't fill me with glee.
      lol.

Yeah, the drawer is rather creepy there
      send the ghostbusters over here!
      Or maybe just send Mason
      to teach it a lesson.
      lol.

      Delete
    2. haha that must be rough
      And a bit tough
To even get one drop in
Does he ever let you win?..haha

      Mason would do the trick
Giving his strat orb a flick
      And pop they will go
      Away from your show

      Delete
    3. I got a drop in his eye
      but noticed a red mark...sigh.
it's on his lid. A sign of a struggle
all to get a single drop in..not double.

I'd love to have Mason here
ridding the place of things everywhere
bugs and ghosts that open drawers,
standing up brooms but don't sweep the floors!
      ha.

    4. haha must be quite the task to do
      Abuse how could you...haha

If it's old ocd Mason he'd clean
Not that he'd need to at your scene
Least he wouldn't make a mess ridding you of the ghots and bugs
      Might even clean the rugs

  22. It is funny in that the news is showing that the Northwest is going through a big snow storm and getting lots of snow. Usually their storms work their way out across the country to the east. I sure hope you don't get much. They said this one will hit us down here in SoCal on Friday night until Monday morning. I am thinking this will be a big storm if it comes down here.

Got to play with the wee wittle ones today. Hubby bought some berry plants and I never said a word about wanting some. That is really weird.
