- Cleaned and organized the top of my desk. Dusted, clipped coupons and threw out the trash.
- Watched Charcoal through the window as he caught and ate a bug.
- Got a call from school to pick up Harry. Pink eye? We'll check it out at the doctor tomorrow. Just our luck that the doctor isn't in on Wednesdays. Had to laugh as he was back home by 9:30AM but immediately sat down and ate the lunch in his lunchbox. I fed him breakfast...really!
- My side yard flowerbed is full of blooming daffodils. Lovely! They are usually short lived as the frost usually gets them, but this year I don't know...sure feels like June out there!
- Lovely Juncos were enjoying the weather, too!
- This kitchen drawer opened on it's own like this at least 6 tines today. Kind of creepy! Maybe it has something to do with my broom standing on it's own? ha ha.
- Found some purple anemones outside the front door. Love that color!
- Re-potted several indoor plants. Love this lacy fern. She seems to like her new pot!
- Found this baby toad with his mama. He was very friendly, too.
- Started soaking some morning glory seeds to plant later. They do better if they have a head start in some water! I love how the blue engulfs my picket fence. I plant them on the side where I can enjoy them every time I pull in the driveway, which goes to the garage at the back of the house.
- Noticed Mr. Neighbor Man fiddling with his clothesline. I guess the tightie whities are going to be blowing in the breeze again. lol.
- Scrubbed the kitchen floor. Yep, look at that dirty water. It looks so much better now!
What did you do today?
Whatever it was, I hope it was a lovely day!
♥
You make the mundane stuff look so interesting!
ReplyDeleteAnd you're on a heavy "flower theme" this week, aren't you?
Deleteactually, these are the first flowers all week! Maybe you have me confused with someone else. :)
DeleteOkay, how 'bout if I change that to "plant theme" and point out today's post and yesterday's? :)
DeleteAnd your Creative Tuesday shamrock???
Deletethat would make more sense, yes! :)
DeleteShamrock would have counted anyway... [ducks]
Deletesounds like a productive day :) the flowers are lovely! I need to lift most of my daffys because they don't bloom the best the last two years. Gotta replant and thin them. I chased down a whole bunch of groceries for a pizza party Friday night here and some fundraiser cheesecake baking. The sunshine makes everything better! Hope the 'pinkeye'? doesn't spread to the rest of you!
ReplyDeleteOh, you had a busy day! The pizza and cheesecake mega prep sounds fun! Two of my favorites! This weather is amazing!
DeleteOh, that's right Serena and I planted some pansies and morning glory seeds as well. I told the boys,"There are flowers on my front porch and on the deck again, I feel complete once more." ha
DeleteFlowers in pots is one of my favorite things about making a home look like spring! Our front porch is full sun, though and things don't do well there. We have a little courtyard on the side with a fountain and pergola where most things thrive. I'm not going to do that just yet. You are so brave! It seems too early!
Deletecourtyard, fountain, pergola, sounds lovely! and I'm sure beauitful in the summer with your flower touch added. I don't consider myself really brave, just in desperate need of color that looks alive! Looks so warm and inviting with flowers. and pansies are forgiving if the weather turns chilly.
Deleteit's a nice little spot with minimal sun. I do plants best that way. ha. I always seem to have them dry out or burn out. ha.
DeleteYou're right..pansies do well in the cooler weather! And you can always move the pots inside if necessary.
Have you tried using cheap pampers in the bottom of your flower pots to reduce watering? I use them in almost all the pots and window boxes. Makes it so much easier.
DeleteNo..I've never heard of that! Oh the rumors that will start if anyone sees me buying Pampers. lol...
DeleteYour days are so full, and always sounds like a fun time :)
ReplyDeleteThat is one warty toad !
I'm soaking my Morning Glory seeds too, last year I planted way to many, and too late, by the time the flowers emerged, we had frost :(
I couldn't help but laugh at the sight of Harry eating his lunch out of his lunchbox at home..
And must comment on that precious picture on your sidebar, of the triplets......absolutely heartstopping !
I washed porches and windows today, and moved a Bluebird box to a better location, although Oliver doesn't agree !
~Jo
I've done the same thing with the seeds before! And the frost always comes here when they are at their peak at the beginning of fall. :(
DeleteI love that photo of the triplets, too. It was taken for a magazine article.
I need to wash windows! The one at the kitchen sink is spotted!
Are you going to "adopt" the toad?
ReplyDeleteThat would be so funny.
Isn't funny how dirty the floor gets. I love to have a clean floors.
I should adopt him...and his mother is welcome to stay, too! :) I mean, what a couple more creatures? ha.
Deleteour floors get filthy! I vaccuum every day!
I love when you do these lists, I hope the pink eye is short lived, one of the hazards or school age children.I loved to plant morning glories, I was told to knick the seeds and soak, do you nick yours? We are a bit behind on the blooms in our town,
ReplyDeleteI usually do, but didn't this time. if they don't open in another day, I'll have to do that.
DeleteBetsy! I love your photo flashback of your beautiful boys as babies! Awwww wow! Sorry got distracted there as I scrolled down to the comment bit - awww they're beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteLook at Harry now! Yay! Hope he's ok though!
Baby toads, purple flowers, gorgeous birds and kitty eating bugs! Spring has finally sprung! Take care
x
It certainly does feel like spring...actually more like June with these temperatures! Had the windows open...so nice!
DeleteIt's beautiful here too, but no flowers like you have yet. Bummer about the pink eye, if that's what it is!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure your flowers are coming, soon! Although it way too early for this! ha.
DeleteI love the Harry pic:)... and the flowers! ha! love flowers
ReplyDeleteIf you want to know I cook, nake, laundry, water the grass and plants Im making the food dogs they eat pellets bu with some food(lol) Im making the dinner and I swim! ah and still hav eto iron...
DeleteYou had a fun, busy day!
Deletelife seems so much more fun when you take pictures - even washing the floor!!
ReplyDeleteMary x
I think you're right! It makes the ordinary look a little more special! :)
DeleteCleaned the master bathroom and bedroom. Swept my kitchen floor. Did two loads of laundry. Worked on adoption paper work. :) Made taco salad for supper. Played outside with the kiddos. Drove hubby's John Deere (just for fun).
ReplyDeleteAdoption paper work? :)
DeleteYou had a nice, busy day, too!
I was wondering if anyone would notice that little hint. I'll post about it soon. :)
DeleteIt was very warm here today--mid to high 70's. Beautiful!
I'm a detail kind of girl. ha. :)
DeleteSame temps here today...just lovely!
I'm not really--some details matter to me, and I appreciate other people's attention to detail, but I tend to hurry through stuff. :) Wish I was a little more creative......oh well. :)
DeleteWell, I sure I miss some things, but when someone mention adoption papers, I tend to take notice! ha.
DeleteI wonder if the toads will start multiplying like cats...
ReplyDeletehaha...some how that doesn't seem so bad!
Deletelol@tightie whities ha.You and me both with Morning Glories.I loveeeeee them. They climb my back porch and look so lovely but they bloom a bit late.I wish they bloomed earlier in the summer.
ReplyDeleteyes, they bloom late...always at their best when it's time to frost. Yeah, those undies are right outside my kitchen window. Sigh.
DeleteI planted morning glory seeds today, too. Darn...I should have soaked the seeds in water first. Oh well. Too late.
ReplyDeleteIt must have been the day! I didn't realize so many people loved them like me. Just keep the soil moist and I'm sure they will be fine!
Deleteaww that little toad is sooo cute....ooo i hope its not pink eye as well...ack....
Deleteisn't he cute? he wasn't scared, either!
DeleteI need to pick up the pace on my Wednesdays. Did help the mister replace a kitchen light and hang two new ceiling fans. After shopping for them also and taking him (the mister) to the eye doctor. Not near as fun as your day. And I'm still thinking vortex in the kitchen. I tried my broom...it's already angled and it didn't stand up. :(
ReplyDeleteOooh, you were very busy! How nice to get the light and fans done!
DeleteHate to tell you, but my broom is one of those Leibmans that have the deep angle! It still stood! Vortex, huh. Hmmm. :)
I did not know toad babies hung out with their mothers. They say you learn something new every day...
ReplyDeleteToday I planted a garden, a little one. :)
Oh how fun! Are you sure it isn't too early? I fear it will frost again before it's really warm to stay.
DeleteOh, it isn't outside. Right now it's on my dining room table. :)
DeleteOh, I see. Well, good! ha. Your little seedlings will be all ready when the weather gets warm! meanwhile, where are you eating? lol...
DeleteIt's a Gnome Home, and it only takes up a small space at the window end of the table. When it gets nice out (to stay), I will take it outside.
DeleteIt sounds very cute! You'll have little sprouts in no time! What did you plant?
DeleteSucculents, from Loews, and some of my jade babies. And a little stone house, and a fence, and a stone walkway, and some flying creatures, and a little gnome. :)
DeleteHow fun! I've never grown succulents before. I had a jade plant that got a fungus and died. I love them. I've never had a gnome either! ha.
DeletePink eye that would just be eww
ReplyDeleteI hope that is not true
That haunted kitchen is really get out of control
You need the ghostbusters to take a stroll
The bug looks like it went down a bit rough
Probably tasted rather tough..haha
And the tight whities will shine
On his fixed up clothesline
As you rest your feet
In the sink to beat the heat
We'll find out tomorrow about his eye
DeleteToday getting drops in it has been such a delight.
lol. He shuts his eyes tight as trap doors
and locks his hands over his face for more
security.
Doesn't fill me with glee.
lol.
Yeah, the drawer is rather creepy there
send the ghostbusters over here!
Or maybe just send Mason
to teach it a lesson.
lol.
haha that must be rough
DeleteAnd a bit tough
To even get one drop in
Does he ever let you win?..haha
Mason would do the trick
Giving his strat orb a flick
And pop they will go
Away from your show
I got a drop in his eye
Deletebut noticed a red mark...sigh.
it's on his lid. A sign of a struggle
all to get a single drop in..not double.
I'd love to have Mason here
ridding the place of things everywhere
bugs and ghosts that open drawers,
standing up brooms but don't sweep the floors!
ha.
haha must be quite the task to do
DeleteAbuse how could you...haha
If it's old ocd Mason he'd clean
Not that he'd need to at your scene
Least he wouldn't make a mess ridding you of the ghots and bugs
Might even clean the rugs
Today I taught second graders and stayed late for conferences. I am one tired chick! lol
ReplyDeleteOh my. You need a reward! ha. That's a busy day!
DeleteYou are such a good woman with lots of energy :)
ReplyDeleteit's just caffeine. ha.
DeleteI do enjoy what you did Wednesdays & guessing what you did, then looking at the answers. 8~)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you always have fun!
I told my daughter that my Wednesdays would all be the same every week. But, maybe I could get creative like you. 8~) Wait...I went out and raked in the yard...I could've put the down as something different. ;~)
I enjoyed seeing the triplets baby picture too.
Take care,
Nancy
I laughed the other Wednesday writing my weekly post as I noticed I empty the trash cans and change the sheets on all the beds. But I've said that enough times, so I don't mention it. Raking would have been great! Once the season changes, we'll have a different set of stuff! ha.
DeleteOk...So to get both the Pedicure Party Invite & the picture of your feet...I had to do them separately.
DeleteI had to copy your toes picture to my computer...then paste it...whew!
Its now on my blog! 8~)
Nancy
That's how I had to do it myself...post the picture and add the link. We couldn't get it to work the other way!
DeleteI notice the header changed. I like that you can change it.
ReplyDeletewell, the hot chocolate seemed to wintry! ha. I'll have to do lemonade if it gets any warmer!
DeleteWe had snow, #$@%+@ it!
DeleteSOS... or SSS (send some sun)
I saw that on the news! Everywhere else is above average temps and you guess get snow! ha. Well, I love snow and wasn't ready for spring to start! ha. maybe I should move out there!
DeleteDon't cha just love spring?? All the color peeping through the rich dark soil. I love it!
ReplyDeletePink eye? Yuck!! Poor kid!!
Ate a bug...yuck again!!
Ha!
I need to do that deep cleaning in my carpet!! Sigh
Hugs
SueAnn
the bug went down rough, too...Ew. Why do they do that? He did have the best time chasing it down, though. ha.
DeleteOur carpets need cleaned very badly. A good spring project!
It is funny in that the news is showing that the Northwest is going through a big snow storm and getting lots of snow. Usually their storms work their way out across the country to the east. I sure hope you don't get much. They said this one will hit us down here in SoCal on Friday night until Monday morning. I am thinking this will be a big storm if it comes down here.
ReplyDeleteGot to play with the wee wittle ones today. Hubby bought some berry plants and I never said a word about wanting some. That is really weird.
God bless.
I saw that...WA and OR with all that snow! We're going to be a high of 77 today...which is unheard of for March. That's more like June!
DeleteThat frog is adorable!!! Have you ever heard of a pacman frog? Those are my favorite :) Like usual...you've have a VERY busy Wednesday :)
ReplyDeleteThe mute speaks I guess it didn't take..lol
DeleteAnd must have kept her awake
But fyi, she does this all week and pretends to do it on one day
Shhhh don't tell and give the secret away
aw,Jax...you got caught. Looks like Pat is following you around to see if you're going to talk or not. lol.
DeleteNo, I've never heard of a pacman frog! I'll do a google search!
I do NOT miss seeing Mr. Neighborman's tightie whities Betsy! NOT! AT! ALL!
ReplyDeleteOY!!!!!!
My boys have threatened to run through and make them disappear!
LOVE the plants, seeds, everything spring goin on!
We've thought about having his clothes line disappear during the night. haha. But if your boys are willing to do the dirty work...lol....
DeleteI have full blown spring fever. How could I not??? :)
Gorgeous weather here too, and like yours, more like May or June than March. Our daffodils haven't bloomed yet but the crocuses have. Your comment about the tightie whities made me laugh. Is this the same neighbor who looks in your windows?
ReplyDeleteyes...he's the one. :)
Deleteenjoy the beautiful weather! I need to plant some crocuses. They have died out over the years...and so have my tulips! I miss them!
Busy, busy! I keep adding to my list in my head...I think it is time to actually write it down and get my own self busy spring cleaning!
