    1. Thanks, Heather! I saw this happen in real life once, except it was an old work boot. When I saw the new theme, I knew right away what I wanted to do!

  6. What a place to make a nest
She sure is pretty proud of her zest
Hopefully no one tips the boot over
    Like some cat or rover
It's good that the boot looks new too
    Then it doesn't smell ewww..haha

    1. Yep, no smelly-ness
      around her nest
that would make her curl her nose
      and her toes.
Hmm...she must be related to you
      with ocd issues.
      haha.

    2. haha maybe she picked it up along the way
After viewing the cat on display
Seeing him all nice and neat
And knowing she didn't want a boot that smelled like feet

      Delete
    3. Yep, she's as neat as a pin
choosing a new boot to put her nest in. :)
I know you don't blame her a bit
smelly boots could cause a fit.
      :)

    4. Yep works well with my ocd
      A nice sight to see

  7. Such a well executed painting of the boot Betsy and I love the touch of it being Mrs Robin's nest. In your hands her eggs are safe.

  8. Oh Betsy...Well Mrs Robin sure has good taste... If I took my boots off more often... Someone might make a nest it one of them.

Love the colors, and love the attitude Mrs. Robin has...This is MY house, so deal with it!!!

So should you, doll, for a lot of reasons. Great drawing.

  12. Oooh, I think this might be my favorite drawing of yours so far. I like them all though. Maybe we'll see a robin or two very soon. Winter has been a bust so it might as well be spring. :)

    1. thanks rebecca! Yes, it's almost warm enough for robins. I have daffodils about 6 inches high. Totally unheard of for February! I think that really warm week made them think it was spring. Now they want to get back into the ground! ha.

      Delete
    2. Wouldn't it be a pain to be a daffodil, and stick your head out of the ground when it was warm, and then freeze your nose off when it got cold? :)

      Delete
    3. why yes, I see your point. It would be a pain. ha. I can hear them now, "It's not spring yet? Aw, shoot!"

  13. Lovely boot, perfect for anyone, even birds :)

  14. Aw I love how he made the pretty shoe into his own lovely home (-: A whole village of birds could make nests out of various fashionable shoes. Love this and great work!

  16. Wonderful, Betsy! I was wondering if you would get a bird in your drawing, and I love that you did. And a nest, too! I especially love that your shoe is a cowboy boot, beautifully drawn, of course. Love the robin, too.

    1. I was going to do an old work boot but changed my mind. I liked the way the colors could complement each other. And I did think about putting shoes on the bird! ha. I think your entry stole the show, though! lol...

  17. Love the nest in a boot! You really are very creative and talented. I love all the detail in the drawing. :)

P.S. I was at Starbucks Sunday and saw black and white cookies pre-packaged! Now you know where you can get them.

    1. Thanks, Jax. :)

Hey..Starbucks! That's good to know! I nope it isn't just the NY Starbucks, though. Afterall...our Walmarts are different from yours! lol...

      Delete
    2. I refuse to believe that there is a "good" Walmart anywhere!! It can't be... Walmarts are bad and Target is good! Going to a Walmart is like going to 7-11. haha

I hope Starbucks pulls through for you :)

      Delete
    3. We don't have 7-11's anymore..too many drive-by shootings! No, no...haha..I don't know why we don't have them. I think United Dairy Farmers took them over. lol... There isn't any crime in Ohio (cough-cough) I don't know what you're talking about! :)

      OK..checking out Starbucks soon!

      Delete
    4. Too much smog in Ohio
      So the criminals go bye-o..haha

      Delete
    5. Pat I knew you would come and say just that
as the smog fact must be attacked.
In this case it made the criminals flee
to the Walmarts up near New York City!
      lol.

      Delete
    6. LOL well with the cough cough that's where my mind went
But it at least makes the criminal bent
And sends them to the NY walmarts
Where they run you down with shopping carts

  18. Totally creative...dreaming of spring. I hope you had a relaxing weekend!
