Tufted Titmouse

This little guy is so fast and active that it took me 50 shots before I caught him still long enough that he wasn't a grey blur in the photo. I'm quite certain he can help himself to the seed without any cats catching him! Isn't he sweet? He's been entertaining me outside my window for about a week now. Maybe Mrs. Titmouse will join him in the spring!

  2. Well, we already knew that though, didn't we? ha.

  4. I love these birds. They are at my feeders quite often.

    ReplyDelete
  5. They are the cutest little birds! Great shot!

  6. Wow, that picture was worth the fifty tries I would say. My sunrise pic took me about ten tries, and a sunrise doesn't move. :)

    ReplyDelete
  7. Gloria ~ I still cut hair for all five of them. This time it was very long...my clippers could barely get through it! ha.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Well, the 50 tries were over the course of 3 days. Sometimes he'd fly away before I even got the camera turned on!

    ReplyDelete
  9. My ten tries were all in about five minutes while I stood barefoot and freezing on my front porch. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  10. Well, it was worth it, Rebecca...that sunrise was beautiful! Do you naturally wake up that early?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Unfortunately I do. Most mornings I wake up around 5:30, and put off getting up till 6:00. This morning though I would have slept later, but the baby woke up early.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Are you a morning person Betsy?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Oh my. That is so early. ha. But I guess I did it when the boys were that young, too.

Gloria, I need to come look at your apricots!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Well, I go to bed pretty early, so that makes a difference.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I'm a morning person in the sense that I wake up chatty and cheerful, but I like to sleep in if I can, too. :) We usually slept until 7:15 on school days.

And I get into bed about midnight. :)

    ReplyDelete
  16. I go to bed between 9 and 10...sometimes a little later. I'm a senior citizen at heart. :)

    ReplyDelete
  17. I dedicate my post to you with love, I dedicate only a few of posts cause I think I have to make to all my friends:)

    ReplyDelete
  18. I get up early so early Rebecca and not matter the time I go to the bed, like today I have to make dinner, iron mop the kitchen and make some cupcakes (lol)

    ReplyDelete
  19. Aww, Gloria. You are SO sweet. I loved that you did that. Your pudding looks delish. Wish I was there to have a bowl of that!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Did you get it all done Gloria?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Are you a morning person Silver?

    ReplyDelete
  22. I seem to wake up early nowadays whether I want to or not. I'm a night person who thinks nothing of staying up to 2, 3, 4... Sometimes it's already light out by the time I get to bed.

    ReplyDelete
  23. You said Rebecca If I made all the dessert? yes

    ReplyDelete
  24. Something dark happens to my personality about 11:00pm. It's better if I don't stay up late...I lose friends that way. :)

    ReplyDelete
  25. Or sorry Rebecca ou talk about I have to make nope,I go now, to make all this I said:)

    ReplyDelete
  26. It's so pretty Gloria...the dessert I mean. Can you mail me some?

  28. If I can of corse Rebecca cause you are so sweet:)

    ReplyDelete
  29. Oh my Gloria, I thought you meant that was what you had to do all day not just this evening. You are a busy lady!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Rebecca ~ dark? lol...you crack me up. I'm sure everyone there prefers you in bed early, then. ha.

Gloria ~ you eat dinner later than we do! We eat about 6:00.

    ReplyDelete
  31. 50 shots...my you are persistant...but it paid off...smiles...

    ReplyDelete
  32. Well, I get snarky, and rude, or else sort of slap happy, and I laugh at things that aren't funny. That kind of dark.......not "criminal" dark.

    ReplyDelete
  33. lol. Well, when I'm overly tired, I cry easily or feel like slapping someone. lol. Everyone benefits if I'm full of coffee. ha.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Yeah me too, my hubby has been known to bring me coffee, and beat a hasty retreat while I drink it. Aren't we terrible?

    ReplyDelete
  35. What would we do if coffee prices suddenly went through the roof. We would have to sell our furniture to support our habit. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  36. Gotta run have a good night Betsy, Gloria, Silver, good night Gracie. :)

    ReplyDelete
  37. It would be worth it. ha. We could move in with Gloria...they have wonderful coffee down there. :) We could iron for her and she could feed us! ha.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Pat ~

yep, we had to keep the numbers nice and round
so nobody's OCD would come around.

The cats will never catch this bird.
    it's so quick, it's absurd.

Won't even try another camera shot
now that I did it once, I'm happy with what I got.

So you watched the Walton's too?
Well, 'good night, Mary Ellen', to you, too!

  69. Oh, Gloria ~ it's a dove. It says "White Winged Dove". That is very similar to our Mourning Dove. So pretty. They are one of my favorites. Thanks for the clip. You'll have fun watching the activity around that nest! That is one of my favorite things about spring...the busy birds. :)

    ReplyDelete

  74. I know I'm getting here late Betsy, but I haven't been online since yesterday morning. I saw that picture of the titmouse. I am so envious. I have never, ever gotten a picture of a bird that is this good. And your new banner pic is wonderful. You have such a great eye and you always have such clean, perfect edits. I know you're a busy woman, but you should be a professional photographer.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Wow, thanks Anne. That really means a lot coming from you. I was thrilled to get the Titmouse. It was SUCH a challenge. ha. Thanks for the encouragement. And you know, my middle name is Anne...with the 'e', too! :)
