Gloria was talking about a White Tailed Dove who was sitting on a nest in her yard in Chile. She had a pretty photo of Mrs. Dove as her header photo last week. So when I saw this Mourning Dove in my backyard, I thought I'd post it here to show her. They look very similar. Although, I'm sure Mrs. Mourning Dove would rather be in Chile where it is now summer! She has all of her petticoats fluffed up to keep her warm, doesn't she? Dressing in layers, you know! ha. So here you are, Gloria! I wanted you to see my dove from Ohio! And if the rest of you haven't been to the lovely Gloria's cooking blog, click HERE. She's also funny, intelligent, lovely, and a great photographer. :)
♥
That was great, especially being for Gloria... But what, no "What I Did Wednesday?" Do we get two Wednesdays next week, haha?
ReplyDeleteThanks so much dear Betsy your dove is nice and adorable, nice picture. And now I remember I dont see today my dove, I was a ...busy and moving day! Thanks Betsy
ReplyDeleteSilver ~ I know..no WIDW. I ran errands and put away groceries. Not really post-worthy. ha.
ReplyDeleteGloria ~ maybe Mrs. Dove had gone out to eat. ha. Moving?
Aww, she looks so fluffy. Wonder if she would mind if I touched the hem of her petticoat--to see if it is soft. :)
ReplyDeleteOnly one time I saw she let the nest but normally dont move, today is late I have to see in the morning!
ReplyDeleteThanks by your post Betsy also is not Silver wanted. But I enjoyed your dove picture!
I love her pettitcoat Rebecca!
ReplyDeleteRebecca ~ well, the kittens tried to do that. She didn't seem too thrilled. lol. :)
ReplyDeleteSilver, you should post a what I did wednesday at your blog. :)
ReplyDeleteBetsy, Hee hee, so I'm not the only one who wanted a little feel. :)
ReplyDeleteBetsy, did you get any snow yet?
ReplyDeleteOpp Betsy, Silver dont like my "post" but I like Betsy:)
ReplyDeleteaaah you talk about snow and here I die with the hot day!! was terrible 34° C
ReplyDeleteGloria, I was just telling my kids that you have been swimming every day. They had to look at the globe to see where you live. :)
ReplyDeleteshow to them please, heyy dear I will take some pictures of the pool and I will send you, the pool is not perfect (we need paint) but is nice!
ReplyDeleteBetsy this dove is like me: shy!
ReplyDeleteGloria, what do you mean I don't like the post? "That was great, especially being for Gloria..." meant that it was a nice post, even nicer because it was dedicated to you.
ReplyDeleteGloria, I would love to have a pool, but it's a little scary with tiny children. Maybe in a couple years.
ReplyDeleteSilver, are you ignoring my suggestion. :)
ReplyDeleteWe had a dusting this morning but that is all. It's cold...20 degrees! But the rain yesterday washed away any snow we had. I'd love a good foot or two!
ReplyDeleteThe "What I Did Wednesday?" If I did one of those, it'd be boring, not like Betsy's.
ReplyDeleteBetsy, We have about 1 foot--supposed to get a little more tonight.
ReplyDeleteSorry Silver only I see you say you wanted the other post what I did? sorry
ReplyDeleteRebecca is nice a pool but have a lot of work:)
and Yes I havent when the kids were little
Silver, you might be surprised how interesting it would be, don't you have a cat--you could post about what he did.
ReplyDeleteWhat Orson Did Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteI like that!
What color is Orson?
ReplyDeleteHe posted about the cat time ago, but would be nice again:) Love Orson Talk:)
ReplyDeleteBetsy today I taked some pictures of horses!! but I dont know where post:( maybe in the sidebar
ReplyDeleteA foot of snow would be nice! I love it deep like that, especially when the roads have been cleared.
ReplyDeleteGloria ~ yes, she IS shy. I had to wait and wait before she would even look over my way. ha.
So, what did you say about moving today? Did you mean you were busy?
Gloria ~ you should open up a second blog where you can post things other than the cooking!
ReplyDeleteI dont know Betsy with one blog Im busy, maybe two blogs are too much. Anyway sometimes when I put a recipe I made a introduction like you make your wednesdays, are special horses because are police horses did you know?
ReplyDelete@Betsy: I'd let Orson write that himself. Then again, I almost had a "what I did today" post by Orson, months ago, and I decided that was boring... so it never got posted.
ReplyDelete@Gloria: I was just teasing Betsy about no WIDW post. I wasn't "upset" because she replaced it with a post dedicated to you!
@Rebecca: Orson's mostly black, with some brown. Unless he's really close to you, he looks all black.
I went to the phicologist with daugther and there I taked some pictures! but we arrive so late a while ago!
ReplyDeleteI think Orson is black!
ReplyDelete@Gloria: Well, as I said, he looks black until you see him up close.
ReplyDelete@Rebecca: I've actually done a few posts about Orson, and a couple written by Orson.
Gloria ~ well you had a busy day then!
ReplyDeleteNo, I didn't know they were police horse! How nice!
Yes you will see are beautiful I know you love horses Betsy MarÃa Esperanza dont like cause are from police haha
ReplyDeleteWell I dont see close Silver ha
ReplyDeleteonly I think when I see the pictures
True, Gloria ~ I wouldn't be able to do a second blog. One is plenty for me!
ReplyDelete@Betsy: I've tried that in the past, doll. In fact, at one point, I had three! But now, I can't even handle one, apparently. Heh.
ReplyDeleteSilver, awww, a black kitty. My cat is grey. I'll have to search thru your archives to find Orsons posts. :)
ReplyDeleteGloria ~ well, my dad was a policeman, so that wouldn't bother me at all. I used to like the police dogs when I was really young. ha.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty..at first I thought she was wrapped around a pinecone !
ReplyDeleteThat's a great shot!
@Rebecca: At least on of the posts on my Foxyblog has links to previous posts on my "retired" blog, David'Z RantZ. Hope you like whatever you encounter.
ReplyDeletenanny ~ she does look like that! ha. Kind of like camouflage!
ReplyDeleteI love police dogs!
ReplyDeleteShe should take all her petticoats and go to the shady rest
ReplyDeleteMight be warmer there and pass the test..lol
Giving Gloria a shout too
Isn't that nice of you
Birds of a feather
In slightly different weather..haha
Pat ~
ReplyDeleteOf course it's nice of me
I'm as sweet as can be
and I know you really aren't surprised
I'm just as you would have surmised.
Didn't say strat either
which may have given some a fever.
haha prob would have gave them a more is she crazy look
ReplyDeleteAs strat is only known to those who read the book
But I suppose can be surmised easy enough
As it isn't that tough
Maybe I'll start typing WTS, as in what-the-strat
ReplyDeleteand then I'll tell them to blame the Cat.
ha.
Another great photo off of your camera. I could just about reach in and feel the feathers on that dove. Somebody should be paying you to do this!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Anne! :)
