I'm posting it especially for Brian, my twin of sorts, who loves Key Lime. :) And isn't the plate pretty? I picked it up at the thrift store today while out and about with friend Julie. And yes, Pat, I washed it before using it. ha.
Key Lime Fudge
3 c white chocolate melted with one can of sweetened condensed milk.
Stir in 1 T lime zest and 1/4 c lime juice.
Spread in a buttered 8x8 pan. Chill 2 hours.
♥
Diabetes be damned. I want some!
ReplyDeleteMaybe just one bite wouldn't kill you, Silver. Besides, look at your face there...you need some sweetening up!
ReplyDeleteThen give me the whole darned batch, doll. :)
ReplyDeleteHa. No, you can't leave us yet. But one piece might improve that scowl. Of course, you'd have to drop that cig hanging from your lips. ha.
ReplyDeleteYou're right, I can't leave yet. Still a couple of things left on my Bucket List.
ReplyDeleteWhere are all the usual commenters? It's like we've got the room to ourselves!
ReplyDeleteThey're usually swarming around like flies!
ReplyDeletehaha...I think they're wrapping presents or still shopping. :)
ReplyDeleteHow refreshing this time of year! Love it! Merry Christmas, Betsy.
ReplyDeleteAh, the spell has been broken.
ReplyDeleteSimple and delicious is the only way to go!
ReplyDeleteLook at that Silver Fox! Very clever!
Are you use to your new hair style?
Thanks, Marina! Merry Christmas to you, too!
ReplyDeleteChristine ~ I don't know what to do with my hair! ha. It ended up in a pony tail today...a very short one!
ReplyDeletewell I'm here now and I don't have diabetes, this looks yummy! Mery Chistmas !!
ReplyDeletehaha I don't even have to ask or scold any more
ReplyDeleteYou beat me to it and show my OCD the door
That's a nice break for the cat
So it doesn't flare up at your mat
Your twin will sure want some
He might now dream of Key Lime Fudge instead of that fairy sugar plum
Silver looks mean now too
I hope he gets a burnt behind or forgets the chimney and gets sucked down the loo
Mmmmm sounds yummy, and looks that way too!! Think it would help my heartburn? :)
ReplyDeleteThat darned Brian, he gets all the good stuff!
ReplyDeletelaurie ~ please have a piece...or two. :)
ReplyDeletePat ~
ReplyDeleteyep, Silver's giving Santa a bad name
He looks like he's playing a dirty game.
I'm sure he'll post his mean ol' Kris Kringle rant
and drown out the real Santa chant.
haha.
I ought to post it right here! Hahaha!
ReplyDeleteRebecca ~ oooh..no, it would not. But I get it, too, and have to take one of those 24 hr pills. Then I can eat fudge. Sweets are the worst for me.
ReplyDeletehaha...Helen, please have a couple of pieces. Brian can make his own! :)
ReplyDeleteNo rants allowed. :)
ReplyDeleteYeah I think that's what made it flare up was too much sweet stuff. What a scary looking Santa! LOL!
ReplyDeleteIt's not a rant, it's a sweet li'l Christmas poem.
ReplyDeleteRebecca ~ try yogurt!
ReplyDeleteYogurt will make the scary Santa go away? :p haha
ReplyDeleteRebecca ~ maybe! But it will work on the heartburn for sure. lol...
ReplyDeleteI even have some in the fridge--sounds like a good bedtime snack.:)
ReplyDeleteYes! I love citrus flavors!
ReplyDeleteRebecca ~ yeah...because, if I recall correctly, it isn't considered breakfast food by someone at your house! lol...
ReplyDeleteUm yeah--that's because I've been having it as a cop-out instead of cooking something "real" like eggs or pancakes, or french toast. :)
ReplyDeleteRebecca ~ aw, I love yogurt for breakfast. Sprinkle granola over it and call it new. hahaha.
ReplyDelete@Rebecca: Scary Santa isn't going anywhere!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I could fool him--he's a sharp little stinker. :)
ReplyDeleteHow do I blow a rasberry over the computer?
ReplyDeletelike this :P
ReplyDeleteThanks Betsy,
ReplyDelete:P....to you scary Santa. :)
I have an emoticon that would get this blog banned from Blogger... but I won't use it.
ReplyDelete@Rebecca: At least I have an icon!
ReplyDeleteSilver,
ReplyDeleteI had one, and I lost it--I'm not very computer savvy. :)
Betsy's blog would not be banned. Betsy would ban bad blogger from blogging on Betsy's blog!
ReplyDeleteGo Betsy!!
ReplyDeleteBetsy boasts a bit, but bold, brave Betsy might beat Scary Santa badly, so I'd better behave!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, she's used to standing her ground and being the boss around men. Little but mighty. ha. And that goes for bad Santas, too! Now eat some fudge and let's see if you loose that ashen complexion. lol...
ReplyDeleteejemmm:) excuse me only want to say I love fudge specially with lemon or lime Betsy:) look delicious:) its all continue.....
ReplyDeleteGloria ~ help us beat up on bad Santa! ha.

ReplyDeleteYou know I really Like Taylor (lol)
ReplyDeleteGloria ~ yeah, but he's bad...and ugly....and kind of mean! HAHAHA. I think he'd steal the presents instead of giving them!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, Taylor is a sweetheart...and handsome, too. :)
ReplyDeleteHe love it dear he really love ha,ha
ReplyDeletereally handsome:)
ReplyDeleteBetsy you think this Santa is looking us?
ReplyDeleteOh, I think this Santa is lurking around, yes! ha.
ReplyDelete@Betsy: I would not steal presents. I'd break them all and leave them for the kids to find in the morning!
ReplyDelete@Gloria: Santa is always watching you. Sees you when you're sleeping, knows when you're awake, and all that!
I think the same, OK Betsy I hav eto go, I have to make dinner(lol)

ReplyDeleteWhat a nice change of pace from the chocolate fudge.
Bye, Gloria...enjoy dinner!
ReplyDeleteWanda ~ that's what we thought, too...a nice, fresh change!
ReplyDeleteoh goodness betsy..key lime is my favorite dessert of all time...i gotta try this one...got a beautiful card in the mail today too...smiles...
ReplyDeleteBrian ~ I know you'd love this. It's so easy, you could make it for Tara! A beautiful card? You don't say! ;)
ReplyDeleteI really want some! it looks so good
ReplyDeleteKey lime fudge... you just blew my mind, that is such an awesome culinary invention!
ReplyDeleteHi Betsy,
ReplyDeleteThat really does look yummy, I saw it at that sweet website you posted and I thought everything there looked good. But that one did catch my eye because I simply adore Key Lime pie.
And that plate is really pretty. I think that maybe I need to start visiting some Thrift stores but then I would have to go shopping and I oh so hate shopping. Did you know that TJ Maxx gives a senior discount on Tuesdays? It would be nice if stores did it online but then it would be hard to prove one's age.
Thank goodness I do not have to cook the Christmas dinner, all we have to do is buy it all, give it to my oldest and she cooks it. She thinks she is getting a deal and I know that I am the one who gets the best deal. And hubby is smoking a big rib roast in the smoker to take with us. That is one nice thing about here in CA is that we can still barbeque and smoke meat in the winter. Christmas is supposed to be in the mid 70's. Sometimes it has been a lot higher, so 70's is cool.
I do hope you get your White Christmas, saw on the news that some of Ohio is going to. I will just look at the mountains and see the snow and know that is good enough. It is where if we want snow we can drive up to it in 20 mins. and if not then we can stay down in the valleys.
I guess I need to get some energy to wrap some gifts but snuggled on couch is so much better.
God bless.
PS...maybe I am starting to feel better because I actually wrote a long comment, yea!!!

ReplyDeleteLisa ~ it was really easy!
ReplyDeleteBetter Baker ~ you are the second person that said they want to meet me in 2012. Awww...that's the best gift to me of all. :)
ReplyDeleteThat souncds amazing and easy enough for even me! Merry Christmas to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteBetsy, I bet your house always smells great with all the wonderful baking you do. Hope you are getting your wrapping done and enjoying the day. Looks like no white Christmas here, but I'll take the sunshine.
ReplyDeleteMrsU ~ your rib roast sounds wonderful! I hope you have a wonderful time and feel better!
ReplyDeleteWowee kazowee, Foxy was on a tear last night! Wish I'd been able to butt in in real time.
ReplyDeleteFudge looks delicious. Is this for Brian the poet?
I really really like your new template. It's lovely and peaceful and fresh.
Cali Girl ~ yeah, Silver was over here chatting with all the ladies. We tried to sweeten that face up with some sugar. ha.
ReplyDeleteAnd he hasn't left yet!
ReplyDeleteoh, and yes...Brian the poet. :)
ReplyDeletelol....oh, there you are! More fudge? I see you're still looking kinda sinister.
ReplyDeleteYes, more fudge!
ReplyDeleteGee, I would have thought a little sugar would have had a more positive effect on your looks, Mr. anti-Santa. Maybe we should move on to sugar cubes or something. :)
ReplyDeleteI could always shoot up simple syrup...
ReplyDeleteEew!
ReplyDeleteIt could work!
ReplyDeleteLooks amazing, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays to you as well!
Betsy, this fudge looks awesome! I love white choc but sometimes it's a bit on the sweet side so adding some key lime juice sounds just like the perfect idea! I wish you beautiful Christmas holidays and a happy New Year!
