Kiwi Berries

I was looking for quinces at the grocery store so I could make Gloria's yummy looking recipes. But I couldn't find any! Don't worry, Gloria, I'll check some of the other grocery stores! I did, however, find some kiwi berries. Since I had never tried them or even heard of them, I brought home a container. They look like a kiwi inside but the skin reminded me of a grape and the inside texture and taste reminded me of a blueberry.
Pretty and delicious, too!

  7. Sounds like it's Three-fer!
You get three different kinds of fruit rolled into one.
Now that's my kind of fruit!

Never heard of a Kiwi Berry but I going to start looking.

I did eat grapes a long time ago
So I guess you never know

  10. Pat ~ oh good,
    they weren't too scary
    or too hairy.
Not served in a public-use bowl, either.
Which would make both of us quiver.
    lol....

  26. It is so cool that they come up with all these new varieties of fruits and vegetables. And thanks to some brave souls such as you who are willing to try them we get to find out if they taste good or not. Thanks for doing this for us.

I went online to see what a quinces was that Gloria kept talking about and it looks like the piece of fruit that a lady gave to my hubby a few weeks ago. I asked him what it was and he said the lady told him he had to cook it before he eats it. Hubby said she had a whole tree growing in her back yard. Unfortunately he fixed her line and has no need to go back otherwise I would ask him to get as many as she would give him. Then I would send them to you. Have you tried to see if you can order them online. It seems like it would ship in good condition.

I will still keep my eye out at the local grocery store to see if they ever sell any. How many do you need for the recipe?

Thank you Gloria for introducing us to this new fruit.

    God bless.

  41. You might be able to find quince through Jungle Jim's. They even order hard-to-find produce if they can accommodate your request.
