I took these pictures from my desk in the kitchen on Friday. The last of the fall colors on a grey, rainy day. The winds came through and blew all weekend and it was gone! I'm glad I took the photos when I did! The last bit of autumn color!
It was a gorgeous season! The next beautiful thing will be snow on the branches, but I'm not quite ready for that just yet!
Did you have a nice weekend?
♥
i would believe it...seems like all our leaves fell this weekend too...and now i can see no yard...
ReplyDeleteBrian ~ maybe your leaves will blow into the neighbor's immaculate grass. ha.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you about the Fall colors being gorgeous this year.
ReplyDeleteSome of our leaves are still trying to holding on.
Christine ~ take one last photo! :) It was actually warm this weekend...in the 60's but grey and windy.
ReplyDeleteIt just takes one day of wind to clear all the leaves from the tree branches. I do believe Fall has "been here and gone". Need to get out the rakes and get to work now. Mickie :)
ReplyDeleteThere's a tree across from my house that has vibrant red leaves. It's so pretty! I'm going to miss it when all the leaves are gone.
ReplyDeleteAt least you get some colour, very little of it in the wide brown land. Although spring is springing and the Jacarandas are beautiful at the moment. There's nothing like a northern Autumn.
ReplyDeleteHi Betsy .. beautiful photos - the reds/pinks/oranges are so gorgeous at this time of year.
ReplyDeleteI too am definitely not ready for snow - who knows what's coming our way ..
Cheers and enjoy your week .. Hilary
I had a very grey wet weekend! LOL!! Awww but your pics make the view out of your window so lush and yet so sad - cos you just know it's getting to the end of the season and these colours are already fading! Awww! Take care

I had a fabulous weekend! And the winds blew our leaves away too!! No more gorgeous colors!!
ReplyDeleteAs for the snow on branches...forget about it!! I want spring now thank you very much!! Ha!
Hugs
SueAnn
Great photos you caught before they went plop
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm never ready for that snow to drop
So make that smog of yours block it with a wall
So up here it never will fall..haha
Our winds howled this weekend, too!! I did have a good weekend, Betsy! Thank you. Working to get ready for the Little Men coming to visit! ;) Woo hoo! Hope you have a wonderful week. blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteThe wind has been blowing at gale force this weekend.....awful. 80 degrees today and major storm coming tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI got a good laugh at your comment, I agree totally!! How can a dumpling be too thick....lol I think he has a texture issue!
Betsy these pictures are awesome, maybe the season go so fast! yesterday we was still in spring and now is like summer, but the nights are so cold still, :)
ReplyDeletenanny ~ I have 5 men....I know exactly what you're talking about! :) I'm going to try to make that tonight!
ReplyDeleteGloria ~ that sounds like perfect weather! I don't mind cool nights if there's an extra blanket on the bed!
ReplyDeleteIt was so beautiful here too just a few days ago, then like you it was gone. We don't get much snow around here but yes, snow would be nice! :-)
ReplyDeleteOur seasons move forward together like old friends heading towards a familiar destination. Given the distance between us, the synchronicity of our weather patterns is amazing. You could have taken those photographs from my kitchen window.
ReplyDeleteAlan, that really is amazing! I'm glad the views from our kitchen windows are like old friends! :)
ReplyDeletea lovely weekend thanks for asking.
ReplyDeletethe weather was perfect - perfect for days of yard work (play) raking and bulb planting!
it was a lovely weekend! We still have some leaves on the trees but there is a storm on the horizon this week that'll take care of those.
ReplyDeleteI don't want the white stuff. YUCK
These photos are stunning! They're sure to keep you warm all winter long.
ReplyDeleteLooks like fall is coming to an end huh? Those leaves were so enjoyable while they lasted. I just LOVE your 'thankful list' in your sidebar. I'm thankful for you! =) XO
ReplyDeleteLovely colours ,it is now wintery here in Cornwall ,most of the colour is gone.thanks for sharing !
ReplyDeleteMarsha ~ aww...you sweetie! The feeling is mutual, dear.
ReplyDeleteI had a wonderful weekend, Betsy, and noticed the lack of leaves too. I also realized I still had some nice fall pictures to put on my blog this week, but they don't match the gray coloring that now is the only color outside my window. I'll keep posting fall photos until that first snow comes...hopefully not in the near future.
ReplyDeleteThe best yet
ReplyDeleteThat sure doesn't make me fret..haha
Wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the colors!
Pat ~ haha
ReplyDeleteOf course it doesn't make you fret
It makes your head swell, I bet!
Each is better than the one before
Can't wait to read number four!
I love fall and although winter is also just as beautiful, my bones ache so I shudder to think about snow. lol
ReplyDeleteBut I do love a change of seasons cause it forces you to move and live life to the utmost.
Gorgeous colours. It would be so boring if every season was the same.
ReplyDeletejenny ~ that is so true. I love the change of the seasons! Each one is lovely in it's own way!
ReplyDeleteI posted a photo Saturday of trees that had turned yellow overnight. Today I notice they are almost completely bare after the storms blew through over night. I'm not ready for snow yet either.
ReplyDeleteThe wind has taken most of the leaves here as well...At least the bittersweet vine in the garden is loaded berries. I wish we had the beautiful colors for a while longer.
ReplyDeleteFall has been gorgeous here this year. We're expecting hard rain later tonight that will surely knock the rest of the leaves down. Sniff.
ReplyDeleteWow, such vivid colours, I'm glad you shared them with us.
