It's been a busy couple of weeks! This evening I sat and looked out the window. Here is my few from my little nook where my desk is in the kitchen. Sure looks like early autumn! A few more weeks and this burning bush will all be red! Funny note, just after I snapped this picture, Marmalade walked by...on the roof along that gutter....wasn't quick enough with the camera to catch him. So far, they get down by themselves. Good thing! I'm not looking forward to climbing up there after them!
Anyway, as I was saying, it had rained today and finally this evening the sun broke through. Nice long evening shadows. Can't wait to see these leaves turn color!
From the back door I noticed the sun catching the tips of the wind chime.
Then I heard someone knocking on the door. Oh, hello, Mustache!
On the back porch, looking around to my kitchen nook. I'm looking forward to sitting inside there with a cup of tea and doing some reading/editing for a friend tonight. Nice and relaxing.
Hope you have a relaxing evening, too!
♥
If my days get any more relaxed, I'll be in a coma!
ReplyDeletehi betsy...loved seeing your beautiful home...it's just charming...as i knew it would be..
ReplyDeletethe little kittys are adorable

kary and teddy
xx
thanks
ReplyDeletethe sun just came out and my bushes are all gone lol
Kary ~ it was the perfect fall dinner! There's a damp chill in the air tonight! Having a cup of tea instead of the icecream...a sure sign that summer is over. :)
ReplyDeleteI have my cup of decaf with French vanilla creamer and a shake of Saigon Cinnamon, a footstool to put my feet on, and a computer keyboard. Hubster and Hanners are watching a western. Tomorrow is Saturday already. :)
ReplyDeleteAh, Martha...we are thinking alike tonight! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful view, and yes those Burning Bushes can be spectacular in the Autumn...
ReplyDeleteWhat are your plans with the kitties, are you trying to find them homes or do they already have a permanent home :)
Supper sounds delicious, as does the cake, hope you have a relaxing evening nesting in your 'nook'

Jo ~ the kittens are staying, I guess. :) They are free to go, but why would they? ha.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful and very serene view you have looking out your window. Very calm.
ReplyDeletelol@silver fox comment ha!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos and I feel fallish tonight, (is that a word.)Im comfy cozy in my home for the evening relaxing.
Have a nice fall weekend Betsy!
Becky ~ I say fallish! :)
ReplyDeleteBetsy I forgot to say I had beef and noodles this evening as well. (great minds think alike lol)I noticed that on your right sidebar.I love reading that.
ReplyDeleteSo it's not just Tiger on the roof now?
ReplyDeleteThey all decided to get up and down some how?
One of these days you'll hear meow after meow
And you'll have to climb up swearing you'll disavow
As once you get there
They'll strut up with flare
And get down themselves just fine
Leaving you there on top the ladder all divine..haha
That would be just like a cat
To do something like that
I have the same plan too
To lay around and just view
Is just fun
Has to be done
Pat ~ sounds like a lot of us are into being zombies tonight
ReplyDeletejust too much work this week and now it's out of sight!
Yep, I'm expecting a cat to get stuck any day now.
They will cry and howl.
If I have to climb the ladder
I'll be sure to have my camera.
hahaha.
Becky ~ yum. It was the perfect night for that dinner. :) Enjoy your cozy spot tonight!
ReplyDeleteThe "experts" are saying we won't have much fall color here because of the hot, dry summer :-(
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics, beautiful evening! Enjoy!
ReplyDeletePictures of your backyard and garden always enchant me. I think I would love to ramble around back there, and then join you and the kitties for tea.
ReplyDeleteWe just got the kids tucked into bed, it'll be a quiet evening now... and I've got some Graeter's Toffee Chip in the freezer!!!
I wasn't sure there was any "quiet time" around your house!! With a houseful of boys, I know you are plenty busy. Glad to see you are planning on a quiet, relaxing evening. Lovely photos. Mickie :)
ReplyDeleteHi Betsy .. not sure where you find the quiet time - but delighted to hear you can snatch some. Moustache and Marmalade will look good in the gloaming as the sun lowers and sparkles the trees - while the Red Burning Bush will be glorious - have a lovely weekend .. Hilary
ReplyDeleteThis post made me take a deep breath, and loosen up my shoulders. Nice 'end of the day' images.
ReplyDeleteI too am ready to relax with you and enjoy that cup of tea!! Looking forward to the changing colors!

Ditto to what Silver Fox said. The wee wittle ones went home and I think we both are in a coma tonight. Clearing out the DVR and playing games on the iPhone, cleaning out the email and bored as can be. Wee wittle ones keep us on our toes chasing them to stay out of everything keeps one busy. Funny thing is that when we are doing all that chasing all we want is some peace and quiet. You know that saying; "Be careful what you wish for, you might get it." really applies to us. I like it best when they visit for a few hours and then goes home. Oh well, such is life, every minute with them is precious.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a nice relaxing evening, seems like you are always so busy that a relaxing night is a blessing for you.
Enjoy!!!!
God bless.
Autumn is definitely in the air! Hello to Mustache and Marmalade - beautiful names! Take care

I love seeing your kittens. Ours always get too wild living in the barn!
ReplyDeletenice....loving the view andthe relaxingdays...at the beach as a surprise for my wife...so relaxing for sure...my older cattaughtthenew kitten to knock to come in...lol
ReplyDeleteMy guess is that you don't get too many quiet evenings with your busy household. I know you enjoyed every minute.
ReplyDeleteCorners ~ the boys even asked to go to bed early..on a Friday night! Who am I to argue with them? hahaha. It was nice, thanks.
ReplyDeleteMickie ~ we usually don't...that's why it was worthy of a post! lol... Well, it's usually quiet after 10pm and that's why I stay up way too late...to enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteYou array of pictures are so relaxing. This is a relaxing weekend end for us, as Aunt Trula's daughter from Bakersfield is staying with her, and giving us the weekend off.
ReplyDeleteWill celebrate granddaughter Amanda's 18th BD tonight..Looking forward to her party.
Love and Hugs
Glad to hear you're getting some down time and can relax a bit.
ReplyDeleteWanda ~ you deserve a weekend off. Hope it's a nice one...the party sure sounds fun! :)
ReplyDeleteI have a tree outside my living room window that I love to watch change colors. I don't know what it is—after 5 years it's really time for me to find out—but it goes through at least 4 changes, starting with leafy green and ending in a deep burgundy.
ReplyDeleteI love coming here and reading your posts, looking at your photos. Unfortunate;y I don't get enough tome to come out to play! Want to see the burning bush in full bloom please.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bee. :) You are welcome here any time. Yes, I'll make sure and show the red bush in all it's glory! :)
ReplyDeleteThe burning bush has a red heart. Just like the one at the bottom of your post. Lots of love to Betsy.
