Mrs Doolittle, We Have A Problem

So, I'm straightening up the family room today and notice Marmalade watching something with his ears perked up. I take a closer look to see that new black mother cat along with kittens on our back porch! Remember that double take Mustache was having last week? Five kittens to be exact, all having lunch! But wait...not five.. There is this little one that is too scared to come any closer. If six isn't bad enough, I could have sworn I saw another in the bushes. Seven kittens? I watched them later as they trotted home, two houses down from us. I wonder if that family knows they've been adopted. Maybe not, if they are coming here to eat. It's like going out to eat...down to Betsy's house....and to visit their half brothers and sister. LOL. And no, I'm not keeping 11 kittens. Don't even ask. ha. Besides, 5 of them look like Mustache. How could I possibly name them all? Although this little grey one is absolutely adorable!

  5. Awww that gray one is adorable!!! My kids would love to visit your house Betsy. They could pet all your kitties, and I wouldn't have to feed them. LOL

  6. Silver ~ I'm going to send them off to Pat
instead of trying to keep track. :)

  7. You are just like my cousin Judie in Rochester, New York. She had a couple weeks ago 23 cats that come to her house every day and nite. She has joined with a few other ladies and they are finding them homes, socializing the ones that are not too social and they are spaying and neutering them. She loves them all. She has been successful..I think she is down to about 7 now.
    Just sayin!

  8. Kim ~ I think the cats spread the word...where the food is and all. Twenty three? Well, now this bunch doesn't sound so big now! lol. I think we need to catch the dad and fix him! :)

    ReplyDelete
  9. Either fix him or get the fuzzy little guy to start paying child support.

You have kitties everywhere at your shore
No don't ship them to me

The grey one is cute too
It's at least different than the others in the crew

  19. Pat ~ yep 14 still has me beat..although if you count the moms it would be 13. So, yes your vacation spot has me beat by a few.

  20. Betsy, you can officially call yourself a cat lady now!

    ReplyDelete
  21. oh boy! My cousin has a mama like that and she takes the kittens to the SPCA to be adopted. some she relocates herself, if she can.
over the years the litters have been many but small. Now mama hides the kittens and they are harder to tame once they are caught. It would be easier to spay the mother and then she can become a family outdoor cat.She will be anyway by the looks of it.lol

  22. Lady ~ this is a different mom! Same dad, though.

But that little gray one is so adorable...I'd take it in a wink. We had a cat for many years that looked like that. Our Figgy! Had to find him a home when the grandchildren became allergic.

  31. Worry not, Betsy. As far as names are concerned try - Walrus, Toothbrush, Chevron, Pencil, Horseshoe, Handlebar, Pancho, Fu Manchu, Adolph, Zappa, and Dali which, I believe, are all types of mustaches.

  32. You're getting some great pics & I so agree about the little shy, grey kitty. They surely know who loves them, too!

  33. One of our neighbors has 9 cats living indoors and who knows how many outdoors. They used to have a huge cat feeder outside and cats just showed up to eat all the time. They finally got rid of it and now actually feed their outside cats each day. But I would not want to be the one to clean out the litter box each day.

We barely could handle one inside cat and so trained it to go outdoors. Our cats are like dogs only they sit at the door and meow instead of barking, or they bite at our feet if we ignore them. Not sure who is trained, us or them. Either way, the litter box smell is gone. Thank goodness.

The gray one is so cute and it would be so hard to turn that one away. Okay, they are all cute, I do hope you find nice homes for most of them. Best wishes for the kitties.

    God bless.
