The theme this time at Creative Tuesday is Morning!
Well, I love this one since I'm a morning person. Of course it helps to have your coffee maker on your bedside table and use it as an alarm clock! :) I remember very early in our marriage, I was sitting up in bed talking to The Mister as he was getting dressed and he said, "Do you always wake up so pleasant and talkative first thing in the morning?" hahaha. Well, yes! He hadn't uttered a word yet. Anyway, I thought I would draw the first minutes of a typical day as I'm getting my five men out the door each morning. These are the phrases I say, coffee cup in hand, of course.

ReplyDeleteVery cute Betsy.I love the words chirping out of the birds mouth lol.Adorable.
ReplyDeleteBecky ~ do they look like that? Oh shoot...haha..I wanted them to be curling up in the steam with the bird just watching with his beak shut! Oh well. lol...
ReplyDeleteWell thats cute too.but my first impression was the bird tweet talking you know.
ReplyDeletehaha..Becky, maybe I should have drawn a rooster saying that stuff! :)
ReplyDeleteI love your painting always is nice and special!!LOL
ReplyDeleteahhh my coffee whispers sweet nothings to me too...very nice betsy!
ReplyDeleteI really love this image with the words swirling above the cup.
ReplyDeleteBrian ~ you probably whisper back, don't you! ha.
ReplyDeleteMade me tilt and turn my head
ReplyDeleteAre you trying to cause me dread..haha
Very creative once again
With adding in the sayings to your five men
You really do keep that coffee close
Do you have more than one coffee maker all over the house?..haha
Pat ~ oh cats can turn their heads
ReplyDeletewithout causing any dread!
Yes, I'm old you know
have to drink it to keep on the go!
And see, I really am a dear
saying those things that give some cheer.
lol...
(are you choking? I thought I heard coughing....hahaha)
Good Morning to You too.
ReplyDeleteOh Betsy ~ this so so personal and so wonderful. Love the words that send you men on their way! How great to have a mom and wife that wake up HAPPY!
Your drawing is so adorable. If you will make all your sketches into note cards... I would buy a bundle!
Aw, thanks, Wanda. You know that saying...If Mama ain't happy....lol.
ReplyDeleteWhen my life slows down a little (don't know when that will be!) I will have to think about the note cards...or an illustrated cookbook. It would be fun! :)
Yes gag me as I peer
ReplyDeleteThis coughing fit happens with each dear..haha
Pat ~ I guess you'd refuse a cough drop.
ReplyDeleteI'll just have to let you faint and flop!
gosh betsy...what a great job you did on that...i LOVE it...VERY creative....
ReplyDeletebetsy...where were you in california ??? just curious
kary and l'il teddy
xo
Kary ~ I was there for a wedding in Santa Clarita and then we went to the Reagan Library, drove up the coast to Hollywood and Beverly Hills. Very fun trip! It was about 4 years ago.
ReplyDeletethis sketch is terrific. the blue words are so nicely curved like smoke. simple and quite cute:)
ReplyDeleteLoved this post dear Betsy, love everything about it - the drawing and the sentiments.;) Love all the phrases you say as well, you must be such a sweet woman to be around. Your five men are truly lucky to have you.;))
ReplyDeletexoxo
Awwwwww as I'm not a morning person and am most grumpy and unpleasant first thing before coffee - all I can say is how I am in TOTAL AWE at your sweetness! Yay for you!! Take care
ReplyDeletex
I like mornings too.. I love being home alone and do all my chores! And then just enjoy my cup of tea..
ReplyDeleteEd ~~ or maybe steam? Although I do like my coffee hot! ha.
ReplyDeleteMarina ~ hey, you sound just like me!
ReplyDeleteThis morning as I was trying to get my men out the door I thought about all the pleasant phrases swirling above your coffee cup and I tried to send them off for the day with happy tweets, instead of things like... "hurry up", "where are your shoes", and "it's time to go -- brush your teeth"!
ReplyDeleteChristian ~ aw...so sweet! I did however, have to add a couple of 'hurry ups' to mine this morning! It's dark as night and pouring rain...nobody wanted to get up and we overslept a few minutes. ha.
ReplyDeleteThis is so creative. I love how you made the coffee steam into morning phrases. And the colors of the mug are perfect. I am NOT a morning person, but my better half is. It must run in the family : )
ReplyDeleteCat ~ oh, that's cute..yes, must be in the genes! :) Your dearest is a sweetheart.
ReplyDeleteTotally amazing and so so thoughtful! What a sweet way to start the day!
ReplyDeleteI think this will be a favorite of mine! I think it is CHARMING.
ReplyDeleteLove your artwork, and your attitude. My hubby and I have been married for 42 years, and I've always been a morning person, the kind who jumps out of bed while the sun's still asleep ... singing, laughing, chattering. Him? Not so much. He's more of an early morning snorer, or grunter, if he's managed to pry his eyes open. But I've learned to curb some of my early morning exuberance, and he's learned to get out of bed without too much moaning and groaning.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a morning person, I wish I was - but there's no-one to inflict my grumps on here so I get away with it! I love your drawing, very creative for the theme.
ReplyDeleteI am also chirpy in the morning lol
ReplyDeleteMost people aren't so they find this funny
but every morning is a great day!Isn't it?
Lady ~ chirpy...lol...love that!
ReplyDeletevery cute post! +followed, come check my blog out when you get the chance! http://mightyideas.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteLove the drawing and your post. I'm a morning person too...isn't it funny how we seem to odd to some who aren't? Very nice Bets -
ReplyDeletehave a great week ahead.
Darling Betsy. Cannot get mine together yet. Where is the muse, I wonder. Just got caught up on your last post. The cake is beautiful. You never cease to amaze me dear girl.
ReplyDeleteQMM
I feel the same way in the morning...but..
ReplyDeleteMy children..very grown...however remember me 'screeching with the voice only dogs can hear'from my bed downstairs "it's time to get up!" Ah what memories they have that I don't!
Kim ~ lol...oh that is TOO funny! :)
ReplyDeleteLove all your drawings, but this one is extra nice :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful and creative painting! I love the saying and the bird is a burst of sunshine! PERFECTLY AWESOME! Pop Art Minis
ReplyDeleteThis is so creative Betsy, and a warm and wonderful morning interpretation!
ReplyDeleteI just love this picture. Beautifully drawn and painted. Lovely touch with the words in the steam.
ReplyDeleteyour birds get better and better, Betsy! Another wonderful addition. SUCH a clever interpretation to add the sayings expressed each morning with your fam. LOVE it. TY!
ReplyDeleteNow, tell me, woudl you drink from the cup if a bird, however adorable, sat on it? BTw, you will LOVE the next theme...just you wait and see.
BTw, you need to add "creative Tuesday" to the subject line of the post. Don;t you remember? :)
ReplyDeleteMmm ~ I know..I don't like that new rule. It wasn't in the original list and you recently added it. I'm a rebel, I know...ha.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! What a nice way to be woken. I love the bird!
ReplyDeleteOk - LOVE this! You know, this is so beautiful with the swirly words and the bird! I can see this on a note card!!!!!!!!! Isn't morning coffee the best? I love that it's next to your bed! GREAT idea
ReplyDeleteHow cute and clever! Great take on the theme. LOVE the words in the the rising steam!
ReplyDeleteWow, this is quite different. Love how the words are steaming out of the cup and the cute bird.
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely, the illustration, the glimpse into your morning routines and the fun and love expressed by the piece. I love the steamy words floating gently up from the coffee too
ReplyDeletegreat post - well done
ReplyDeleteYou still amaze me after all these years! Years ago, I remember seeing a vine type growth chart you had painted on your wall in your dinning area. I thought back then, you were the most creative person and still are to this day! Your pictures are so adorable and creative! Hope you are doing well. Lori
ReplyDeleteAw...thanks, Lori! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I really like the style and colors on this one. The detail is lovely and you can hear the happiness!
