- Took Alex with me to the grocery.
- Drove by a beautiful old barn.
- Stopped at our favorite sweet corn farm.
- Waiting for geese to cross the road.

- Sampled chocolate zucchini bread. Mmmm!
- Picked some veggies in the rain.
- Watched kittens chase my wet footprints.
- Dusted pictures hanging along the staircase.
- Found Nugget keeping cool on the air conditioning vent in our bedroom.
- Laughed with Harry who tried to say "A-choo!" It was more like "A-boo!"
- Filled up the parakeets' seed jar.
- Did a few loads of laundry.
- Counted 5 sleeping cats.
- Found green beans hidden in a kitchen drawer.
It was a busy, beautiful day!
Hope your day went well, too!
♥
I liked the green beans in the drawer. One time I found a waffle inside a picture album. It was a little green and fuzzy, but still recognizable. :) Thankfully it was one I gave our son without syrup. :)
ReplyDeleteummm so the percentage of pics featuring food means nothing right? smiles. i would probably have hid limas any where i could but my mouth...
ReplyDeleteTons of food
ReplyDeleteHow rude..lol
Have to admit I was off on 15 and 16 though
As I thought that was cereal and some ancient computer from war games, but what do I know...lol
Nugget had to cool down
As he's seeing kitties all over town
The geese stood and looked pretty for you too
All the cats seem to be right at home in your backyard zoo
And yes sounds like he's hooked on the cute little girlfriend
Flying to see her around the bend
Rebecca ~ waffle? OH that is just TOO funny!
ReplyDeleteBria~ it was just a food kind of day...grocery, garden, baking. ha. I know...sometimes I really do act like a housewife! Was even barefoot! :)
ReplyDeletePat ~ tried to even out the food with animals just for you
ReplyDeleteAs I knew with food you wouldn't know what to do!
So, cats, bunny and geese, too
OH, and I bought catnip today for you know who! :)
And....only 6 out of 18 are food, guys. lol.... unless you count the goose and rabbit. hahaha
ReplyDeleteYesterday was my day to get things done. (Ironing, potting plants, washing and grooming the dog, cleaning the fridge...) Today brought unforeseen middle-of-the-night challenges and a knot in the pit of my stomach throughout the day. I'll be glad when it's time to go upstairs to bed and start over tomorrow. God is gracious, the worst of it is over, and I pray we never have to do something like that again.
ReplyDeleteI like your list. Maybe tomorrow I'll make some zucchini bread. :)
It's always fun to match the pictures to your captions!
ReplyDeleterain ???? i want rain !!!
ReplyDeletehey betsy...happy to see you today, my friend
pizza making would be PERFECT heading into Fall....
:-)
let me know if you try it !!!!
sending love,
kary and teddy
xx
I don't think I've ever seen a photo of your staircase photo gallery... I love it!
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy these Wednesday posts. Green beans in the drawer????
haha funny catnip story I had today
ReplyDeleteAs I woke up and some how they both had the full bag rolling around with it at play
Orlin managed to actually open a drawer, an actual wooden drawer, none of that flimsy crap
And took the bag for a lap
No idea how he pulled it off though
But he rolled in it letting everything show..lol
What fun surprises you always find! Green beans in the kitchen drawer is priceless. My dog, Star, lays on the AC vent to keep cool too. :)
ReplyDeletePat ~
ReplyDeleteIf Orlin is the one that got himself closed in the refrigerator
then I get a dresser drawer wouldn't be much of a detour
Sounds like he had his thrill
laying in a catnip hill
Having given mine to the kittens yet
But tomorrow they will have fun, I bet!
Oh I can't wait for the Zuccini Chocolate bread...My friend just gave me a couple big ones from her garden.
ReplyDeleteLove you lists on Wed. Make my day!
Wanda ~ you'll love it...really moist, too. I froze most of it. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to keep up with the zucchini! haha...I'm so glad I only have one plant!
Always enjoy Wednesday's.
ReplyDeleteOne reason is your mosaics and trying to figure out what I'm looking at.
(I'll save my other reasons for another day.)
Re. 7 : Why did the geese cross the road?
ReplyDeleteBless you and your camera and wit. This post makes me look forward to Wednesdays. :)
ReplyDeleteif we had floor AC vents, I would be laying on one too :)
ReplyDeleteRhonda ~ oh, that cracked me up first thing in the morning....
ReplyDeleteAlan ~ oh gosh, do you think they were following those imfamous chickens? ha.
ReplyDeleteHi Betsy,
ReplyDeleteThe zucchini cake looks yummy and the sleeping kittens are so cute.
You always seem to have such a full day of things to do. And the nice thing is that you share it with us.
God bless.
Love your mosaics! :-)
ReplyDeleteI am so captivated by barns lately. I like that shot of the barn you passed on your way to the store. Also, I read about your horrible experience with the raccoons. I had no idea they are so mean to their young. Poor things...
ReplyDeleteThis all looks like fun, and chocolate zucchini bread has me drooling!
ReplyDeleteSuch simple lovely things!! Looking forward to your recipie!
ReplyDeleteI always look forward to your "What I Did Wednesday"! It's a beautiful slice of your life. And I think you inspired me to run photos up my stairs:)
ReplyDeleteGood day for sure. Oh dear...cannot remember WHEN I have dusted stair well frames (put on to-do list) and my mouth watered just LOOKING at your bowl of peaches...I love them SO much!
ReplyDeleteChocolate zucchini bread? OH YES!
I look forward now to sharing your Wednesdays. You never have what I'd consider an ordinary day... green beans in a drawer, oh my! Glad you found them sooner rather than later.
ReplyDeleteI love to read your daily "doings"--you always make mundane things seem interesting and fun. Chocolate zucchini bread sounds great and there certainly is an abundance of zucchini in the summertime. Have a nice weekend. Mickie :)
ReplyDeleteHa! I'm sure you coudl figure out who hid the beans, right? wonderful photos. What a day. I see you chose to focus on all the funny and/or good stuff? so you.
