A Blog With A View

Blog friend Pat and I were chatting earlier today about how fun or
not fun it might be if you could see people when you visited their blogs
or they commented on your posts! It would be kind of like Blogger and
Skype combined! Might be a little hard for the people who want to be
anonymous, though. What would they do? I guess they could put a
paper bag on their heads. Cut out eye holes. LOL!
Actually, I wouldn't want it, would you? Unless I was having a
really good hair day. :) Certainly not first thing in the morning
before coffee or makeup. So, what would something like that
be called? Blogger-Skype? Sklogger? Blype?

  1. hahaha as soon as I saw the title
I knew you didn't let the blog view topic go idle
    Still say blideo
    Or blodeo
    Would be the best
But with it one could really be a pest
So lets hope it never ever happens at all
Of course it could happen come fall
Then we could say they stole our idea
And sue making enough money to not have a career..LOL

  2. Hey, you're first!
    Everyone else is worst.

    Blodeo sounds like rodeo
So if you want to ride a cow
You know we'd want to watch it now.

    lol.

If you get the idea sold, you can call it whatever you please.

  3. This would not be good for me as I like to blog at the end of the day or before I start my day. There would not be any good hair moments in there!

  4. Farmchick ~ yep, totally agree!! And people would really laugh at me first thing in the morning before I had my contacts in. I sit with my face really, really close to the screen so I can read it! hahaha

  5. Probably wouldn't be a good choice for me, I like to surf later in the evening after my hair looks like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards :)

  6. I would call it ........

    TMI!

  7. haha...oh, Helen...so, so, true! :)

  8. I'd have a bag on my head and I'd be whispering, 'cause I mostly blog while I'm at work. Thus, getting "paid" to blog. The bag may draw attention to me. Some folks vlog, but I'm not sure that is for me.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Oh, I agree! I generally check my blog in the morning before I have showered and fixed my hair...not a pretty sight. So, maybe I could be an afternoon skype-blogger;-)

  10. How about "Mugger?"

And webcams? For me? Not bloody likely.

By the way, where did you find that photo? That chick is hot!

    ReplyDelete
  11. If that were the case, I'd need to buy a cute wig to stick on in the morning before make up and coffee.

No...I don't think I'd like it but the picture you posted is really clever.

  12. Wanda ~ the most fun was doing that thought bubble! :)

  13. I blog at work too - when I look as good as I might reasonably expect for the day. Of course I'm not at work now & the way I'm slouched on the couch I probably have four chins. Too scary for the other folks!

  14. um i blog late at night and early in the morning...may not be the best time to see me...esp in my super hero pjs

    ReplyDelete
  15. Wanda ~ I'm laughing at the idea of a cute wig. We could all have one beside our computers! How hilarious would that be...stumble out in the morning and pull it on your head while the laptop fires up. haha. Would make a really funny little video clip. ha.

  16. @Brian: Ohhhh, I'd love to see a snapshot of you in your Spider-Man Underoos!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Fox that was just so wrong
But hey maybe he'll even sing the theme song

    ReplyDelete
  18. Sure, I'll sing... but only on audio, not video.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Patt ~ maybe we better tweak this idea and have a button to push if the view becomes too much to bear. haha.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I think he meant Brian..while wearing the underoos. Which is when I'd hit that off button. lol... Sorry Brian, even twins can have TMI. haha.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Oh, sorry. You said "I'll sing". Thought that mean you! And that wouldn't be bad! I've heard you sing! :)

    ReplyDelete
  22. hahaha we can make it so there is a block button we can press
Then the screen just turns into a fuzzy mess
And all you can do is see the type or hear the voice
    Which would be your choice
    Not giving TMI out
When you stand in your underwear and shout
Of course as long as they weren't like that green man suit
I think it be a hoot
But if you could see all
Yeah even I'd have to use the TMI call..lol

    ReplyDelete
  23. I meant, yes, I'll sing the "theme song" Pat mentioned!

    I'm getting confused...

    ReplyDelete
  24. Not for me for sure. I like things just the way they are...well as long as Blogger lets me comment. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  25. Pat ~ I actually wouldn't mind hearing everyone's voice! That would be kind of fun!

    ReplyDelete
  26. :-)
    Enjoy your day Betsy !
    Regards from France,

    Pierre

  27. Hello! Betsy...
In answer to your question I most definitely, would refer to that type Of communication as...Sklogger.
    Thanks, for sharing!
    deedee ;-D

  28. You sure said it. First thing in the morning before coffee and the curling iron...no way. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  29. Funny! Cool too though...although I tend to read blogs EARLY in the a.m. (scary bedhead) or LATE at night (scary-tired-raccoon eyes) Would think I needed to apply a little lip color to read!!!

    :)

  30. I have a mental picture of each person and that is enhanced by their profile picture. I wonder what the pope uses for his profile picture? I see he is tweeting now.

    ReplyDelete
  31. That is a good question, Abe! It would be fun to know!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Blype! chuckling over here. No, I don't like looking at myself in photos so I surely don't want people to see me at 6:00am or 11:00pm which is when I am most active. Some people love it though. I can imagine it would really help people who have split families in the military, etc. Have a great 4th of July weekend!

    ReplyDelete
  33. A lot of bloggers, unlike myself, fiercely guide their true identities from the public. I don't suppose this video blogging would work for them at any hour of the day.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Silver ~ well, true. And like I said, I wouldn't want it myself...was just having some fun with the idea.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Yeah, it has been fun. I love some of the suggestions for what to call it!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'll bet Yasmine Bleeth didn't like it...

    ReplyDelete
  37. Oh, it's the Got Milk one she probably didn't like. This one? We could almost use her last name for the skype-blogger name! ha.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I was thinking of the mug shot you linked to. :)

    ReplyDelete
  39. haha...well, if that's her morning, look I guess I dont' have anything to worry about. haha.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Smiling is good. Just don't giggle.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Don't know whether I enjoyed the post or the comments most! I'm laughing anyway.. Sklogger, Blype... I have enough trouble with Skype. But I do enjoy those blogs whose authors share some personal stuff and I'm edging more in that direction myself ...possibly!

    ReplyDelete
  42. jenny ~ I do agree! Of course I would never want live streaming video but I do very much enjoy seeing a real photo of the person I converse with daily, not to mention some personal details of regular, every day life for them. I know not everyone agrees, though.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Heck no! I'd probably lose ALL of my readers once they saw me in my granny gown--complete with nine year old spit up stains!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  44. A&A ~ ok, I'm wondering if you meant the spit up stains were nine years old or that your nine year old spit up on you recently. lol.
    hahaha.

Glad we're all in agreement that we don't want to be seen! ha.

    ReplyDelete
  45. "I'm wondering if you meant the spit up stains were nine years old or that your nine year old spit up on you recently." I was wondering the same thing. Let's hope it's the first one!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Oh Dear .. I am so glad you can't see me now. I'm in my PJ's and have some serious 'bed hair' happening. You're hair on the other hand looks beautiful!!

    ReplyDelete
  47. oh man!!
nobody would want to see me when i get up at 3 am!! not pretty before my first coffee [pot!!]!!... but the cigarette smoke might obscure the camera enough to lend me a mysterious [and scary] look!!...
    MOU-hahahahahaha!!
    dixit Vincent Price...
