- When given a choice, wild kittens prefer to drink from a rain puddle than from a clean dish of filtered water.
- I've survived two weeks of summer vacation! 10 weeks to go.
- When you have to go to the bathroom really, really bad while driving in your car, a down pouring of rain does not help the situation. Just sayin'. ha.
- Kisses from your children are wonderful, at any age, especially unsolicited ones.
- When your autistic child finds leftover fried chicken in the frig and stuffs a piece in his mouth, crunching bones and all, refusing to spit it out no matter how much you plead, the only thing left to do is to pray that he won't get any internal punctures and it will all pass through safely. This would be Alex, btw, and it's been a few days, so I guess he will live! Geesh!
- Everyone in this family likes their bananas still slightly green. Once they get little brown freckles on the skin, we avoid them like the plague. Too bad we don't have at least one person that likes them really ripe!
- If you drink a big cup of coffee at 8:00 PM you will be awake and staring at the ceiling at 2:00 AM!
- A rain shower every other day means you don't have to water the veggie garden with a hose! Nice.
- It's really fun to see seeds break through the soil that you've planted yourself. I have 5 types of lettuce sprouting. Some for Nugget, some for us. :)
- It's lovely to see the sun shining through raindrops and see the ROYGBIV of the rainbow.
♥
Your front porch looks lovely! We're getting a lot of rain showers, too. Haven't even pulled the hose out yet!
ReplyDeleteLove your front porch. Looks so inviting.
ReplyDeleteWhen our bananas get freckles...I smile and see banana bread coming.
Oh my Alex and the chicken...that old saying "this too shall pass" HaHa.
Just think your random thoughts is one of my favorites of your posts. I'm smiling all the way through!
Have a great week!
Wanda ~ yes, lots of banana bread...with drizzle, of course! :)
ReplyDelete'this too shall pass'...oh, LOL! Yes, quite literally. hahaha
ALL good thoughts...except -sorry about the 2a.m. caffeine surge AND -ALEX! NO!
ReplyDeleteOH, we like our bananas firm too...but LOVE banana bread!
woot on the rainbow...and yeah watch the coffee....counting down the weeks already, lol...and water from rain puddles in not bad....
ReplyDeleteI love your random thoughts! Is that a new banner at the top? It is adorable! Oh my, thought about the chicken- bone and all!

ReplyDeleteUnsolicited sugars from our children are one of life's finest treasures!! Glad the chicken bones are working through gently!! blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely porch, love the flowers blooming. That's quite a time you've had there. Glad things worked out with Alex. I remember the days of lego being stuffed up the nose just to see if it would fit!
ReplyDeleteMy mom eats up the freckled bananas. I have to hide a few if I want to make banana bread.
ReplyDeleteAfter seven pregnancies I don't need a downpour to make having to go to the bathroom really, really bad a problem. Having to go at all is a problem. (I really should give up the caffeine but instead I started drinking Peach Snapple when the weather turned nice...)
Martha ~ haha...ugh, so no hard sneezing for you? :)
ReplyDeleteWe eat up our bananas so fast I rarely have any for banana bread. Maybe I'll hide a few next time! ha.
ROYGBIV - we've seen a few in the past two week! I love bananas, i give the freckled ones to my big chocolate lab...he loves them!
ReplyDeletecute post...you got me craving fried chicken, YUM! ( and...i'm so with u on the coffee and the staring part! - LOL)
Heather ~ hmmm...I should see if Nugget would eat a banana. ha.
ReplyDeleteI know better with the coffee!! I'm fine if I stop about 5pm but the other night I had some that late and it tasted so good. I paid for it later! ha.
Re: #1: I've had nights like that in my younger, heavy drinking days. Just sayin'...
ReplyDeleteSilver ~ lol! I guess if your face is already in a puddle, might as well take a drink.
ReplyDeleteAhhhh, see? You understand completely! :)
ReplyDeleteYeah they rather drink the nasty water in the dirt
ReplyDeleteThen drink the water you squirt
How does the chicken taste good with bones
That must have been prickly like pine cones..lol
See anything interesting on the ceiling
Yes I also hate when driving geting that feeling
Also people seem to go ten times as slow
When you really have to go
Well I can help with one of those dilemmas - make banana cake with the brown bananas! :)
ReplyDeleteHi! Betsy...
ReplyDeleteI have to second the notion and say that the photograph Of your front porch is beautiful.
Like I mentioned before I'm kind Of, an alarmist (Hmmm...maybe alarmist word is the wrong word to use I think that I'm more a worrier] [and believe me I wasn't trying to be a smart-a-leck,
in a previous comment] but No# 5 would have had me in a panic-state Of affair(s).]
No#9...One word...Nugget.
No#1,2,3,4,6,7, and 8 are all thought-provoking and...Thanks, for sharing!
deedee ;-D
Oops! I meant to say...

All of your musings brought a smile to my face! We don't eat green bananas around here either! I agree with Wanda...banana bread is the answer! :-)
ReplyDeleteI love Roy G. Biv (that's how I see it - it's some dude with a paintbrush). I thought for sure we'd have one the other day but it must have been out your way instead.
ReplyDeleteI love banana bread too - but I'll eat bananas up until they get mushy. I don't like them the least bit green :)
I have to stop drinking caffeine at 4:00 if I want to sleep at night. Sigh.
I love your front porch! And kisses from the kids. So glad Alex is going to be ok! YIKES!
ReplyDeleteI rarely get to make banana bread because we never have any bananas that get that ripe! Jenny ~ that cake sounds yummy, though!
ReplyDeleteAmyLK ~ I know! That Alex...scares me to death! lol....
ReplyDeleteBanana bread? Never heard of it here in the Mother Country! You colonialists eat some strange things! lol
ReplyDeleteI never eat a banana until the skin is almost black, then I know the inside is nice and soft and tasty.
I usually wrap green bananas in foil and bake them in the oven, cut them open and stir chocolate into the mush, and eat them while they are hot! Yummy!

Keith ~ your banana/chocolate dessert sounds yummy! I may have to try that!
ReplyDeleteI love how you share!
ReplyDeleteI was random today as well. I don't know what I'd do with #5. I'd overreact and freak. You bless me.
ReplyDeletePat ~
ReplyDeleteno, nothing interesting on the ceiling
I know..apple juice would be better to drink in the evenings!
ha.
I really love the roses on the side of the house. Very pretty.
ReplyDelete:)
Here's what we'll do...I'll come by, we'll drink coffee and bake banana bread with all those ripe bananas, then we can sit up until 2 a.m. eating it. And laughing, over silly stuff like, why on earth you give the cat filtered water. If we get a little too loud and wake one of the men, we'll just toss them a chicken bone. Sounds like great fun.
ReplyDeleteTracey ~ Perfect! Wish you lived next door! :)
ReplyDeleteYour porch is awful inviting. Kittens look cute. I have 5 up to find homes for.
ReplyDeleteYour truths are so true. I really like the flowers at the steps. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOh the chicken! So glad it's going to be okay!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the post- I enjoyed it!
Gotta love Autism Mom adventures. We'll be following your blog!
Rethink Autism ~ hey! I'm so glad you stopped by! Yes, we mom's are super duper special, aren't we? haha. Thanks for following...I look forward to coming over and visiting you, too!
ReplyDeleteWonderful random thoughts! That's how my daughter likes her bananas too...and why we have banana muffins. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are amazing Betsy!
ReplyDeleteLovely thoughts. I am a little awed by how you cope with everything with such good grace. And I love your new banner heading - do you have that car? I really want a VW Beetle soft top!
