A spectrum of light that appears on high
when the sun shines on moistuRe drops in the sky.
An optical phenomenon thAt can't be physically approached.
A multicolored arc with colors lIke a jeweled brooch.
Always in the same order red, oraNge, yellow, green.
It's hard to resist it's colorful gleam.
Blue, indigo, and violet, too.
At the end a pOt of gold awaits you!
But it's short lived so watch noW or you'll miss
and don't forget to make a wish!
♥
There's a storm going on here, too, but at this time of night, I doubt I'll see a rainbow!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful rainbow!

ReplyDeletePretty rainbow. An even prettier poem.
ReplyDeleteLovely shot, Betsy. A rainbow is so inspiring!! I always feel "lucky" if I get to see one. Mickie :)
ReplyDeletemickie ~ we don't get them very often but if the sun breaks out right after a storm I always go and look! :) Tonight I was on the back porch and just happened to see it!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Matty! :) Hey, did you survive the grandson?
ReplyDeleteScrew the rainbow I want to pot of gold
ReplyDeletePut the thing on hold
So I can find the end
And make off around the bend
With all the loot
I'll even hide some in my boot..haha
Nice pic and poem
Here where you roam
Pat ~
ReplyDeleteYou sound like Darby O'Gill

You "nailed" your portrait in that banner artwork. We are having a storm today too. Some rain. Hopefully no more tennis ball size hail.

ReplyDeleteOh Betsy haven't visited for awhile, just header is just darling. Storms here too. Almost every day. A tornado hit about 30 miles from us yesterday in Louisville Ky. I have never seen so much rain. Rainbows help don't they.

ReplyDeleteJill ~ could you see that rainbow?
ReplyDeleteWell I got to see this one :) I'm glad you got a picture of it - it was still raining at our house when I saw it & we don't have an easy place to take rainfree pictures outside.
ReplyDeleteBug ~ Nice! I wonder if the other end of the arc was at your place? :)
ReplyDeleteI'm making my wish!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful job here, Betsy.
(It's so hot and dry here. What do you think my wish might be?)
Such a gorgeous shot. Love the format for the verse. Loved the way you mixed the physics with the poetic. ;)
