Happy Thoughts

Happy thoughts running in my head...
  1. I just did a load of laundry. It had 9 socks in it. None of them matched each other! Maybe that's not a happy thought...just humorous. Leave them alone and they will come home, dragging their heels behind them. ha.
  2. I heard the first bird singing this week! Hundreds of birds all winter outside my window and they didn't make a sound. I guess they were too cold! But a song sparrow let out a little melody and that means spring is just around the corner!
  3. I have daffodil sprouts! Most years, after they bloom, I have to cut them and bring them inside because of freeze warnings. That means winter is still lurking! :)
  4. I was thinking today that my family is probably really sick of seeing me in my favorite grey cardigan. I wear it every day. I wear it as part of my outfit, layered over tanks and T's. I wear it over my nightie instead of a robe. I wear it constantly. I wonder if there will be a five man cheer when I pack it away for the season? haha. I'll let you know.
  5. I've been working for over a week on a bedroom redo for the triplets. A post is coming Monday for the big reveal!
  6. As soon as it's warm enough to go barefoot in the house, my slippers are going in the trash. Yes, they are that bad. ha. Warm bare feet is certainly a happy thought. I've already done my first pedicure in anticipation. lol. Pink polish = spring, right?
  7. Harry has mastered (finally!) hooking and zipping his winter coat. Wonderful!

  1. Those are wonderful happy thoughts, and last one on the list, Harry's accomplishment is certainly something to be grateful for. Have a relaxing weekend.

  2. I really enjoy the way your 'bring' all of us into your everyday life ... that lemon does remind me of the Magpie Tales lemon - minus all that blood of course!

  3. My socks are always getting lost. Sometime last year I even did a post about it. I swear they just vanish in the wash. If one of mine turn up in your laundry, let me know.

There's nothing wrong with wearing that cardigan. We all have our favorite article of clothing. My wife gets upset with me for wearing things down to the core, even after they look ratty with holes in them.

  4. Helen ~ lol...I don't really think Willow is a fan of my lemonadish outlook. ha.

  5. *Clap, Clap, Clap* How great for Harry! I have some daffodil sprouts around here too. So glad to see them.

  6. Matty ~ I remember your sock post! I swear they just get up and run away on their own! lol! I'm giving them a couple of days and then I'm searching under beds and couch cushions. :)

    Very happy thoughts.

  8. So glad some one else wears things like I do. I look so nice during my work day and people love to see my clothes and jewelry...but on the weekend...I can blend with the best dressed bag lady in downtown Indianapolis...seriously. Also..where do those socks go?
    ♥Harry♥

  11. YEAH FOR HARRY!!!

From now on I'm only buying white, black, and brown socks...that way I can put two "orphans" together and they won't be too obvious under pants.

    ReplyDelete
  12. For me, it's the brown bathrobe, or the blanket I keep wrapped around me because I'm always cold : )
Wow, you've done your first spring pedicure! I'm impresssed : )

  20. As you know I love listing happy and positive things that happen in the day to day world so I'm always very excited to see someone else's list. Really enjoyed this post, it's the little things that make life so special. x

  21. Congrats to Harry on learning something that I still have trouble at times doing. And I have with the Sock Monster too, I have bags of unmated socks that probably have the mates in there somewhere but I have tried and still cannot find them.

At the beginnning of this winter I tried on my slippers from last winter and the foam just crumbled. Luckily I found some on sale at Avon. Hopefully they will last more than one winter.

    God bless

  22. Catherine ~ oh, lucky you! We don't plant our gardens until the first on May to be sure there isn't any frost. But I have been thinking about what to plant! You'll be eating the fruits of your labor when I'm planting! haha.

  23. 1. I have some lonely ones, maybe we can match'em
    2. I'm running outside right now to listen if we have songs!
    3. Yellow spots of happiness!
    4. Love uniforms
    5. Looking forward to Monday's reveal.
    6. Celebrate with hot pink!
    7. Just in time for Spring!

  26. Good for Harry! And you.

    Bare feet....wonderful!

Wish you could zip down to Alabama for a day. Birds are singing. Trees are blooming. It is raining today...but hey a little rain is to be expected in the Spring. Hope yours arrives soon.

    ReplyDelete
  27. stevie ~ me, too! I'd love to come visit you for a day! If I'm even in the south, I'm looking you up! :)

    ReplyDelete
  28. YEAH for Harry! I passed him in the hall the other day and he was SO happy! Maybe over his zip? Maybe NOT.

My slippers are going in the trash too...think I will look for some NEW and PRETTY ones! A pedicure makes you feel better ALL over AND bare feet too.

    (I like your new photo!)

  29. Since the retirement from school, I have my favorite baggy carpenter blue jeans. I really have to force myself to throw them in the wash. I even wear them in public which is sad. I love you positive outlook.

    ReplyDelete
  30. LD ~ I do the exact same thing with my favorite pair of jeans!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hooray for Harry!! That is a big deal for sure! I love your list. How in the world do we get nine socks in a load of laundry and not one single match? I, too, am so excited for Spring!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Love your happy thoughts. I trying to keep happy thoughts, but my heart is breaking for Julie, our daughter. Will email you some details so you can continue to prayer for her.... I so appreciate your love and prayers.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Wanda ~ aw, I'm so sorry! Already praying but yes, email me some details. xo

  34. Once, in college, I was drying some clothes. Stopped the dryer, reached in, and grab some things to start hanging up my shirts. Nine socks came out as well. None matched. The other mates had remained in the dryer. Weird world, the laundry room.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Cletus ~ that is so funny! It will always be one of life's mysteries! I did find 4 of the 9 mates today, however!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Ha, that picture makes me laugh and it is so true--you being the master of such with all you have gogin on in your life.

"Leave them alone and they will come home, dragging their heels behind them. ha. "--funny. I have the same problem with socks. Keep buying more adn end up with more odd ends. It's so funny. So, you know what I do? i jsut ear unmatched pairs. Its not liek from a distance anyone will notice.

So, when do we get to see that sweater? you;ve mentioned it before. nothing like warm jumper to settle down in.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I had to crack up about the socks! Now the daffodil sprouts...that's just not fair, even if you do have to bring them in later. Do you know how long it will be before I see a sprout?!
