- getting on an antibiotic after being sick all week.
- hours of beautiful snowflakes floating to the ground
- a couple of IM chats that made me laugh, roll my eyes, reconsider my opinion, reflect deep in thought and smile until my cheeks hurt.
- that cherry-almond scent of Jergens lotion
- a cheery new plant that jumped in my grocery cart and said, "Take me home!"
- a new laptop purchased with my own money
- enjoying the Christmas tree another week instead of worrying that it didn't get it put away before I got sick
- pretty pasta in freshly washed canisters
"I'm thankful for laughter, except when milk comes out of my nose!"

ReplyDeletei loved reading these....feel better soon! (glad you got your new laptop!!!)
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you are not feeling well. Hope the medication helps. I too am blogging on a new laptop. We bought a small one (13 inches)to make it easy to travel with. It is a little tricky to get used to. Good luck with yours - you deserve it!
ReplyDelete*agrees with Silver Fox*

Each thing sounds wonderful but the NEW laptop sounds TIP TOP!
ReplyDeleteI found your link (picture link) on Nana's blog. I've been wondering about her lately. Is she okay?
ReplyDeleteIf you want, you can e-mail at coffeeteabooksandme@hotmail.com. That is my blog e-mail address... obviously. :)
These are wonderful happy things! Having been sick so often myself over the past few months I well understand the blessing of antibiotics!
ReplyDeleteI have a clearanced Christmas cactus sitting on my kitchen counter that is making me happy.
Christian ~ if you haven't noticed by now, I have a weakness for those pretty houseplants at the grocery. :) But I like to think that they have a weakness for me and beg to come to my little home for some TLC. :)
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear that you've been poorly, Betsy. Glad you've found a few treats to cheer yourself up. Take care.
ReplyDeleteYou have plants that jump?!!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that you are on the mend.
ReplyDeleteCasdok ~ haha..yes...and talk! ;)
ReplyDeleteI love the cherry-almond scent of Jergens lotion... reminds me of my mom's scent when I was a young girl. There is nothing like a fresh, pretty plant to bring warmth and cheer to a winter home. And, I'm glad you are feeling better!
ReplyDeleteTanna ~ that jergens lotion has beem around forever, hasn't it? I'm glad they never changed it to 'new and improved' :)
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you've been sick. Hope you're doing better now. Love your sparkling canisters with pasta. I did a little more splashes of red in my kitchen this week.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at Woody Allen's quote, as that happened to me on a date with a young man when I was attending Biola College ~~ I was so humiliated....Then I met Don...so that was history.
This would have been perfect for Half Full Friday!
ReplyDeleteSorry you've been sick, hope the antibiotic helps.
I thought I was the only one who had plants jump in my cart at the grocery store.:) Sounds like a good week, except for the being sick part!

ReplyDeleteAmelia ~ you, too? LOL! Glad to know there's a few of us!
ReplyDeleteVitamin D jumped into my cart this afternoon. Guess I'll just have to start taking it to find out why.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the fresh and very cheery post, except about you being sick. Hope you are feeling better soon.
ReplyDeletePS I love the Woody Allen quote! :)

ReplyDeleteHi Betsy, I am sorry you have been sick this week, sure hope the antibiotics have you feeling good as new soon.
ReplyDeleteLove the image, what a great way to store pasta.;) I do the same.;)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on getting a new laptop, may he become your best friend, as mine did.;)
xoxo
Hope you are better soon.
ReplyDeleteI've been treated for walking pneumonia, but I'm still coughing. My TX crowd when home and to the doctor...they are all being treated for pertussis. I hope I didn't catch that from them. I read it can take 6 to 8 weeks to get over that.
Might be a very good thing that Rachel's back got so bad the week they were here. It kept her and the babies from coming over to visit.
Don't you just love it when a pretty plant jumps into your cart and says, "take me home?"
I love your list, Betsy! I had never thought of Jergens as having a cherry scent, but you are right! I hope you are warm and cozy today! We are expecting snow and ice!...hugs...Debbie
ReplyDeleteStevie ~ walking pneumonia and pertussis...both sound awful! Hope all of you are recovered soon!
ReplyDeleteOh, hope you're feeling much better! Love that quote by Woody; can just see it happening!
ReplyDeleteI hope you are feeling better! It is hard to get rid of this horrible bug!
ReplyDeleteglad I wasn't drinking milk when I read that quote. LOL. good list there. I really should put my meagre pasta rations in a clear container I think. you know, I already have a plant like that and love it. good for you.
ReplyDeleteFantastic web site, I hadn’t ran into this before during my lookups! Carry on with the superb work!
