I'm participating in Half Full Friday again this week! Bloggers join here to list out things that made them happy this week. We're trying to put smiles on our faces and take an optimistic attitude! It's very contagious! Try it by clicking HERE!
What made me happy this week~
- Monday, my triplets turned 17 years old. It has not been easy raising them, as they are non-verbal and autistic. And quite frankly some milestone birthdays are actually sad! I've mourned some instead of celebrating...ages 10, 13 and 16 especially. But this year was happy! We thoroughly enjoyed them and celebrated in a non-traditional but oh SO them kind of way. Smiles all around and I found myself truly soaking up their sweetness and felt very thankful for them. :)
- Really happy that the living room is freshly painted and updated. The fresh new look inspires me to take a good hard look at some other tired rooms in the house!
- Enjoyed a day trip to visit my sis an hour away. We had a nice lunch and blabbed non-stop for 9 hours! :)
- Happy for gorgeous fall weather...dark blue brilliant skies, puffy white clouds and beautiful colored leaves.
- Happy I got half of my wedding cookie order in the freezer!
- Happy for all of my blog friends and the sweet, encouraging comments to me on our boys' birthday and also on my Sunday Roast. You guys are THE best. :)

ReplyDeleteMmm... wedding cookies... :)
ReplyDeleteBetsy, you really do have a "get into heaven free" card. I know life isn't easy, but you do it with so much grace and so much love, I can feel it through the interwebs! :) Life can be physically and emotionally exhausting for me at times, and I only have one nonverbal son with autism. You have three. You are such a breath of fresh air to me. You give me strength in knowing I can live this life with a smile.
Have a happy weekend, Betsy!
Lovely visit to your sister... You are an inspiration to us all, Betsy! Have a great weekend.

I thought of you the other day when my sister told me about her visit to see my brother and take him out for a Frosty. Guess he was having an "off" day.

ReplyDeleteMartha ~ I think it's cute your brother likes Frosties. :) We can do that with Alex...but it's fries!
ReplyDeleteYour happiness is contagious. I'm also enjoying the fall garden and warm sunshine.
ReplyDeleteYou mentioning celebrating your sweet boys' birthday brought tears to my eyes. I know exactly what you mean about some milestones being a time of mourning. So glad that this week was a week of celebration for you and your guys!! They truly are so special and so is their mom:-) I am so thankful that I found your blog. Your posts always brighten my day!
ReplyDeleteGlad the boys had a good birthday celebration! Will we see pictures?

Happy Belated Birthday to your boys! I had a birthday last week.
ReplyDeleteYou living room is really pretty! I'd love to paint mine. I have all the time in the world since I can't find a job but I don't have the money to buy the paint. Boo!

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your boys!! I'm very glad that it was a Great one!! I do understand what you are saying though. I know that it was very hard for me too when my youngest turned both 13 and 16 too. Not really a teenager at 13 and 16 I knew he was far from driving, etc.
ReplyDeleteWonderful Happy list & you are so lucky to have a sister! I have a friend who is like a sister to me. I don't know what I'd do without her. :-)
Thank you for sharing and participating in this link! I love it! Have a Wonderful weekend!!!!
Big Hug,
Coreen
Coreen ~ exactly...you get it! Those milestone birthdays seem to accentuate what they should be doing but won't...like dating and driving. Sigh. Big hugs back! xo
ReplyDeleteSo glad their b'day ended up being fun for them and you too, taking it all in stride. Sorry about poor old Taylor! Glad it won't last though there!
ReplyDeleteSim I have to wonder what has NPR done now?!
Smiles from me and Patty too. I had her come over to see your purplish/gray walls and the living room. I liked the architectural details and wish we had something like it instead of the 1960s cracker box we got. But, after ten or more years, we bought paint to paint my office where we spent nearly all our waking hours. But first down comes a border -- Patty rented a steam machine for Monday. I know it is very nice to have a room neat and clean like your house is. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMy birthday is Monday and I will be 76 and Patty will be 74 on the 27th. So Happy Birthday to all of us. LOL
