I walked out on the back porch today and something caught my
eye on the hooks for the pool towels.
Do you see the cute little guy?
I think he's taking a nap!
He looked at me and didn't seem to mind having his
picture taken. Maybe he heard I'm really Dr. Doolittle. :)
I think he's trying to be camouflaged with the baubles
and marbles on the hooks. Because, it's not easy being green!
.
It's not that easy being green
Having to spend each day the color of the leaves
When I think it could be nicer being red, or yellow or gold
Or something much more colorful like that
.
It's not easy being green
It seems you blend in with so many other ordinary things
And people tend to pass you over 'cause you're
Not standing out like flashy sparkles in the water
Or stars in the sky
.
But green's the color of Spring
And green can be cool and friendly-like
And green can be big like an ocean, or important
Like a mountain, or tall like a tree
.
When green is all there is to be
It could make you wonder why, but why wonder why
Wonder, I am green and it'll do fine, it's beautiful
And I think it's what I want to be

ReplyDeleteWhat a cute post! He is so cute and the poem goes perfect with him! Thanks for sharing it sure made me smile! :D
ReplyDeleteGood eye, Betsy. I'm not sure I would have noticed him. He does look like he's trying to just melt into the scenery. I love that song! My oldest's nickname was Kermie. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a find!!! Did your boys like him?
ReplyDeleteI love little treasure moments like that.
I miss Sesame Street and Kermit. I find lizards sunning themselves on the front of my house sometimes.
ReplyDeleteVery cute, I found a frog under my dish washer last year. I still don't know how he got there. He was a funny color to, not a cute green guy like yours lol.
ReplyDeleteNow, that's different. What a little charmer, this frog is.
ReplyDeleteSo cute he is, little one.;) There he found a great place for a nap.;) I love frogs, never seen such a beautiful one before.

Perhaps you should repaint the wood green so that the little chap can sunbathe there without fear.
ReplyDeleteNice pictures. I like the way the frog is wedged behind the hook. I wonder what's he's resting on?
ReplyDeleteI like how he chose the green one to rest behind.
ReplyDeleteJensamom ~ I know...I think he did that on purpose! ;)
ReplyDeleteHi! We've had pools in two of our homes through the years ... I can't even count how many frogs (among other creatures) I pulled out of the skimmers.
ReplyDeleteDo your boys enjoy swimming?
Have a great weekend ..........
Helen ~ the weirdest thing we ever found in our pool was a bat. Something was clogging the filter under water and The Mister had a hard time getting ahold of whatever it was...finally pulled it out..surprise! oh yuck.
ReplyDeleteWanda ~ Taylor did. The other guys didn't care. They didn't get my gene for the love of bugs and animals. ha.
ReplyDeleteHe's a cute little fella..
ReplyDeleteEver since being a small girls, I've had a love for frogs. My mum was scared to bits of them, I would bring tadpoles home in jam jars from the village brook, and painstakingly take care of them, until they grew into fine handsome frogs.
I still love frogs, we have a Bullfrog living in the pond, and evrynight he serenades me with his calls.
I love your little frog, he's really trying to blend in with the colored stones ;)
Jo ~ I had a sister that raised a tadpole to a bullfrog once. It was very fun to watch him grow up!
ReplyDeleteI had to take a good luck at the frist ones to make sure it wasn't a long green thing!!!!lol
ReplyDeleteNanny ~ haha...I did the same thing when I first saw him! I thought, "That head looks just like a snake! I wonder if he's all curled up behind that hook!"
ReplyDeleteHe does look rather cozy up there..LOL!! Since he chose like colors, perhaps he thought he wondered what like would be like as a chamelion. :)
ReplyDeleteHe was attracted to that green marble, thought it was his mate!
ReplyDeleteWe catch them all the time just swimming along in our pool :) I think a bat would freak me out, Betsy...the weirdest thing we've ever found in our pool was a baby rabbit :( The girls and I had a difficult time with that one.
ReplyDeleteThree! Three! Wow, I thought back to when I had four kids -- six and under, and two with ASD and I averaged four hours of sleep a night for a year and a half and thought triplets! So, yeah, I have some insight into your life. But I think you have me beat. And in another crazy coincidence I just had to take one of my kids in for a scoliosis x-ray.
ReplyDeleteMother of 4 ~ Hi..thanks for visiting! Oh dear...hope your little guy's back is just fine!
ReplyDeletewhy in the world would that cute little frog hop way up there!!
ReplyDeletewhat a little green gift!!
ah kermie!!!!!!!
Ashley would love him! We have a lot of frogs, but they aren't green and don't climb our walls. They sit by the garage door at night and the pair this summer were very large. We have to be careful when we're mowing. We usually have some jumping out of the way!
