“Nobody says you must laugh, but a sense of humor can
help you overlook the unattractive, tolerate the unpleasant,
cope with the unexpected, and smile through the day”

Did you know studies show that people who laugh
regularly add seven years to their lives?
I figure stress probably takes away seven years,
so if I laugh a lot, maybe I'll break even and
die when I was supposed to originally!
LOL!
When I need to laugh, I watch "America's Funnest Videos". I love to laugh and this show just gets me going.
ReplyDeleteNow my secret is out...
I don't think I would have lasted raising four kids, working out of the home full time and being a Pastor's wife on top of that if I hadn't learned to laugh often, hard, and at myself.
ReplyDeleteLaughter is a gift.... Now can I put my dentures back in....???
Wanda ~ LOL! I want to know what was beyond that sign that made people have to take their dentures out! haha. oh my.
ReplyDeletelol cute blog Betsy.I love to laugh and its so true that laughing is good for your health.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend! lol@wanda
my boys give me planty of laughs...so i might just live to be 100...smiles.
ReplyDeleteYes, yes, our mental health is actually the key to our physical health.;))
ReplyDeleteWishing you a weekend full of laughs,
xoxo
Heh, heh! That sign reminds me of road trips in central and western Pennsylvania as a kid. You'd come to a sign that said "Hill" and suddenly the road would drop out from under the car; no advance warning, they put the sign right on the spot where the road drops. It was so common that if anyone looked far enough ahead and saw a yellow diamond-shaped sign in the distance, the call went out to fasten the seat belts, the roller coaster ride was about to start.
ReplyDeleteYup, road trips were always fun and created laughter.
Brian ~ watch out...in 10 years they may even it all out with some stress! LOL!
ReplyDeleteRoy ~ that is so true about road trips! Some of our family's funniest stories were created on them.
ReplyDeleteYup, laughing is no joke! ;-)
ReplyDeleteit is good to have a laugh,
ReplyDeletekids do give me smiles, a sweet feelings...
Happy Saturday!
Tee hee! And a wonderful Ann Landers' quote. :)
ReplyDeleteBetsy, what a lovely post! I feel the same way you do ... hopefully I will even it up ;-) have a beautiful weekend
ReplyDeleteGreat...well, whenever i go, I want to have laughed all I can..thanks! ;D
ReplyDeleteWhat an hysterical sign!! I can't imagine what's coming up ahead. It's so good to laugh and laugh hard enough to where tears roll down your face sometimes. My daughter and I do that...great stress reliever.
ReplyDeleteMagpie ~ I completely agree! My oldest son can make me laugh like that...and my big sis. :)
ReplyDeleteI think some serious craziness must have been up ahead for you to have to remove your dentures! Laughing is so important and I always feel better after a good chuckle.
ReplyDeleteHi Betsy
ReplyDeleteit's been a busy week at my home and I just now getting a chance to sit and read my favorite blogs.
love your sign about hardhats and dentures, how funny.
and your dog tags are a great idea -
and about color coding - its a great idea but of my 4 kids, only 2 got their own special colors. nina always had pink because she was the only girl. Bobby liked only green. Jimmy and stepson Clint just got whatever color was available I guess.
hope you are having a good weekend.
Thanks Rhonda ~ i thought of you today when I bleached my kitchen sink! ;)
ReplyDeleteI probably wouldn't have color coded my kids if they weren't triplets...it helped other people more than us, actually. :)
I heard that! My hubby makes me laugh constantly!
ReplyDeleteThis is nice to know. I'm sure you'll be packing on the years because you truly do have a wonderful sense of humor...and I guess I should be thanking you for my added years... because stopping here has added some laughs to my year count. Thanks...and gratitude. And somehow I'd like to think that gratitude adds time for us as well as laughter. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteWe have a veteran comic in the UK (Ken Dodd) who recommends regular exercising of our 'chuckle-muscles'. Sound advice.
ReplyDeleteI once read that the chemical composition of tears changes when we cry with laughter.
Laughing does help a lot. Any stressful day can be turned around by watching or reading something funny. I love looking at funny videos on Youtube.
ReplyDeleteI'm working on that same formula, Betsy! Stress - seven years
ReplyDeleteLaughter + seven years
