Betsy, Just getting caught up on your blog tonight. So many wonderful posts. I especially loved the jazz "rain" choir. Great, great music! Definitely gonna share with Greg. :) Thanks for sharing in this way! Jillia
It was not my favourite musical instrument in Junior School, but it was the only one I was allowed to play : on the assumption that I would cause the least trouble with it. Happy TT Betsy
It would of had to of been my favorite choice too because it was the only one I could play. I would grab it as fast as I could before anyone else got it. But then I would share cause I knew that was the only one others could play too. I wish I had learned but I am not musical and so being tone deaf would probably not have helped.
I wasn't a triangle fan...it kept making noise even after you wanted it to stop...I was a control freak even in elementary school :) I liked the tamborine; it made me feel like a gypsy ;)
I have totally forgotten about the triangle as a musical instrument! I was very good at it in kindergarten, or at least my mom told me I was...I wonder if our worship leader at church would be able to put my long forgotten skills to use? :-)
As soon as I learned what this week's theme was I went looking through my Groves to see if Haydn had written a symphony for triangle, but no such luck. Too bad; he wrote them for everything else under the sun (including the Clock Symphony - # 101), but no triangle. So I went exploring other aspects of the word. I'm glad to see you persevered and stuck with the musical instrument.
Roy ~ I was a music major in college...piano...but also was in percussion in the symphonic band. I remember some performing some of those Hayden pieces...interesting and fun!
SER ~ what gives? No smartass comebacks from you? I thought you'd come over here and play the piano for us! Geesh, if you're gonna come over here on my blog and leave an insulting comment, the least you can do is respond again. So sad!
A very to the point solution. Three cheers to you.
ReplyDeleteLD ~ you know I love things that come in threes! ;)
ReplyDeletenice. i liked the textured sticks you rubbed together...happy tt!
ReplyDeleteI ALWAYS got those sticks...I didn't like them! ha. I wanted the triangle but rarely got it.
ReplyDeleteEven then you were thinking in 3's!

ReplyDeleteGreat TT!
Didn't we have fun playing those drums, and shakers, and yes, the wonderful triangle.
ReplyDeleteYou sent me back to my childhood there.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute image.;) I never played any instrument but i can see the charm of the triangle.;)

ReplyDeleteMy Favourite Instrument.........and the only one I can play!
ReplyDeleteHey! What gives? I noticed that there wasn't a kid playing the piano! If you're going to have a real band you need someone on the piano. So sad...
ReplyDeletethree is a magical number!
ReplyDeletei liked the bell thingies

ReplyDeleteSharp Eyed Reader~ well, there you are! I was expecting a wisecracking visit from you eventually! ha.
ReplyDeleteThe preschool rhythm band did not include a piano. I would think you would have known this! So sad.

ReplyDeleteTo the point, on all levels. Very witty! :)
ReplyDeleteI had almost forgotten about those boxes filled with drums and triangles and such in elementary school. Thanks for the memory, Betsy!

ReplyDeleteLOL! This is a fantastic post!! I love it!!
ReplyDeleteSomething about the "TING!" of a triangle...everyone wanted to be in charge of THAT instrument.
ReplyDeleteI love the picture. Can't you just hear the music (the triangle being the loveliest part of course)?
ReplyDeleteHa I always seemed to get the tambourine when I really wanted the glockenspiel! Love the photo of little Miss Bossy conducting!
