Dotty

Robin Fledgling in all his speckled glory.
♥♥♥♥♥
This is my drawing for Mr. Toast's Creative
Tuesday challenge. The theme is 'dotty'.
The hardest part was thinking ahead to what
I wanted to remain white and not color those
little spots in! That, and wanting his feathers
to look soft and light. It seemed to work best
once I figured out which directions to
make my pencil marks. And I think layering
the colors helped give it some depth.
There certainly are a lot of baby birds in my yard
this spring! And they were the inspiration for my
drawing...them and this little ceramic baby. He
sits in my plant on my desk and keeps me company.

As if you have time to start a card business, or maybe you already have... if so, I'll buy some!

I'm a card sender, and like to use art from friends.

  15. Great drawing; I love it! And I also loved the sidebar Memorial Day offering with the Purple Heart motif. My Dad won the PH in WWII. Nice going, doll!

  16. Love him! Too bad you didn't have my little guy from my nest to model for you.

  17. Kayren ~ I thought of that! In fact, after thinking of your little guy, I think mine is too round and short. He needs to be thin and taller, I think! Yours won't be dotty much longer! :)

  21. sweet!! you are so multi-talented.... i was listening to so program on the radio and the claim was made that everyone can draw and all i could think was 'oh yeah' but then it also inspired me to work on finding my inner 'drawer' - as in one who draws not a place to store one's undies!

we have tons of babies at our house too - birds and CHIPMUCKS!!

  24. Kimy ~ we've had baby chipmonks before...they scurry through the downspouts and make quite a clatter! The first time I heard it, I thought a baby bird was stuck in one and worked a long time to free it...and out ran a chipmonk! ha.
