Snow

Through the sharp air a flaky torrent flies,
Mocks the slow sight, and hides the gloomy skies;
The fleecy clouds their chilly bosoms bare,
And shed their substance on the floating air. ~ George Crabbe

  1. Wow! Look at all that snow! Your birdbath is buried and your table looks like a Popsicle. Love the cardinals at your window.

  3. THAT is a LOT of snow !!
We didn't get all the fluffy stuff, mostly ice, and a powdering.
Love the birds begging for more seed, they know where to find you ;)

  5. We have just a trace of snow. Guess Lake Ontario is not in the mood for producing lake effect for us this year.

  6. Brit in TN~ my birds are so funny! They know my voice and come when I open the window and call them. And when they are out of seed, they look in the window for me! ha!

  8. Your patio table looks like a giant cake. Don't you love it? (As long as you don't have to drive in tons of it).

We are having more right now. It never ends! Love the verse.

  11. Thank you for reading my thoughts made public. I have a grandson that is autistic and pray every day that his mind may possibly be unlocked as mine was. "Hope" is my favorite word.

Where is spring, I wonder. Nowhere in sight...
The birds look like they are truly hungry.;)

  15. Wow! Look at all that snow. If I were a bird I'd be waiting in a bush with a window view for a certain thoughtful bird lady!

  19. I just do not remember WHEN we have had SO MUCH snow Betsy! Our Cardinal's are doing the SAME thing...almost peeking in the french doors asking for more seed. We are enjoying watching them SO MUCH.
    Your photos are beautiful.

  20. The snow photos are lovely ~ as long as you can look at them from the inside and not have to go out it that freezing cold.

  21. My birds sit and wait, wondering if I have something new to eat. They seem to shelter together and the snow flies but they say they are their most hungry and in need when it is snowing. Warm up the grill, burgers would taste great right now.

  22. LD ~ I agree..burgers would be great...maybe we should sit inside though? haha

  28. I love the cardinals too...such beautiful color. We gauge the snow by the depth on our birdbath. It looks like a snow cone right now : )

  29. AmyLK ~ wow, that's a lot of snow! I think we have 18-20"...and more coming on Friday!

  30. After seeing your beautiful cardinal photos, I went to the store, bought suet and seeds. Now to sit in the window and wait for them to come!
I love the picture of the patio furniture in the snow. Isn't sometimes hard to believe that we will be able to sit outside and actually be hot?

  31. Anita ~ oh, how fun! If you're putting bird seed out for the first time, it helps to tie a red string or ribbon to the feeder to attract the birds! Now...how do I attract deer like you have!? LOL!
