Do you have a favorite? Mine would have
to be anything with yeast...warm from the oven...
and slathered with real butter. Or toasted! Mmm.

Beautiful golden rolls! YUMMY! I'm drooling now!
ReplyDeleteI used to love any rolls hot from the oven but my precious DH has to have bread with every meal and I am burnt out on making it. My fav is an oatmeal bread. I have the recipe taped to the inside of a cabinet door so if I am not home he can make it himself.
ReplyDeleteI just finished dinner..but I want one of those rolls..Yummy! My favorite bread is whole wheat with raisins. I did a post in Sept. on how I make bread..90 min. from start to finish! I could live on bread...love the quote here too! Come say hi :D
ReplyDeleteoh you have shown my weakness...
ReplyDeleteSomething so simple that is so satisfying... fresh bread is comfort.
ReplyDeleteThe roll looks like buttery heaven!!

I'm such a carbs girl, but I really am still all about plain bread. Big surprise to you, I know.
ReplyDeleteGosh, this photo really makes me hungry! Yum:) I can imagine how wonderful your kitchen smells with this in the oven!
ReplyDeleteHappy TT on Wed..tee hee...
The Good Book says "Man shall not live by bread alone" That's right you need lots of fresh real butter..... ((smile))
ReplyDeleteYour picture makes me drool all over my keyboard!!!!
Oh My Heart, Betsy. We got a breadmaker for Christmas. It's the first one either of us have ever had. WOW--it's GREAT. Our favorite so far is the Sourdough---but I like them all!!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betsy
Another brilliant acrostic and what a clever way to get the X in there. You rule o'er us as Acrostic Queen, but if you are going to dole hot hot buttered toast, well, I think we can manage that just fine.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite would have to be hot from the oven as well, whole wheat and home made. I'm sure you make some very good bread indeed, judging the likes of your photos and such. Mmmm...
Brioche every time Betsy! We have only one outlet for the genuine article in town & in typical French style, he only opens his store when he feels like it - so my 'fix' is very hit & miss. Maybe that's a good thing for my waistline though.
ReplyDeleteMillie ^_^
I love the pic of that girl sitting opposite the bread post...such a sweetie...
ReplyDeleteHappy days
You always make art out of these Thursday Themes, so clever and witty.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing more tranquil than making fresh bread roles on a Sunday morning, while the scent spreads around the hose, mixed with fresh brewed coffee and the sun rises.

OUTSTANDING acrostic, Betsy! And yes, me Grandmother's zucchini bread is the tops :P And I've the recipe to boot ;)
ReplyDeleteso many different varieties...i like the hard crust on fresh bakend bread...white or sourdough...mmmm.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you and Browning.
ReplyDeleteHi! Betsy,
ReplyDeleteSeveral interesting "things" are going on in your Thursday Theme post...
First, The dinner rolls...Mmmm
Secondly, The way you spelled out the different breads using the Alphabets.
Thirdly, The quote by Robert Browning.
Finally, Nugget!
Betsy asked,"Do you have a favorite?"
Oh! Yes, Croissant(s).
Happy Theme Thursday Betsy!
DeeDee ;-D
They look GREAT!
ReplyDeleteMmmmmmm...nothing like the smell of bread fresh from the oven!

ReplyDelete(And I just discovered my spell check is an ignoramus - it didn't recognize abecedarium. It does now, though!)
Roy ~ well, I didn't recognize
ReplyDeleteabecedarium either! LOL!
All that fuss over a piece of bread!
ReplyDeleteI prefer a nice ginger biscuit, covered in pickled onions and custard myself.
OK..Keith...I need an American translation on that favorite of yours! Right now...not sounding so good! Ha!
ReplyDeletegreat post and a recipe too! yummy is right--I think next week's post will need to be exercise! c
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever post! Mmmm, onion bread. Just wonderful with a bowl of homemade vegetable soup.
ReplyDeleteGot it all covered! I love a good Bagel!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'll salute all of that...
ReplyDeleteExcept the nut!
At first sight of that bread on the dashboard, I was already hungry. Fresh bread is so good, but I have to butter and jelly to make it really great.
ReplyDeleteOh my Betsy, you out did yourself this time!
ReplyDeleteI need to give your roll recipe to my 25 year old son. He's taught himself to make bread. He told me today, he make potato soup and sour dough bread bowls yesterday. I asked where mine is. I love my ADHD child...he's all over the map.
Put me down for huge puffy yeast rolls. Slap some butter on them and WOW! You have the best lookin' food as I have said multiple times. I do enjoy my bread.Yummy for the tummy!
ReplyDeleteStevie ~ you are kidding? soup and bread bowls? He's wonderful! Yes, I agree..where is yours! ha!
ReplyDeleteMmm, all yummy breads. B would be banana bread for me though. :)
ReplyDeleteMy Aunt Grannie Effie Rolls.
ReplyDeleteAny bread is a great bread. One can never have too much bread. I have bread on this thigh and and that thigh and this hip and that hip, well you get the picture.
ReplyDeleteBread list is so wonderful and I am drooling at the pic of those rolls. I need to get my bread machine out and make some bread this weekend. Well okay, maybe I should exercise first. Well more than my fingers anyway.
God bless.
I think I probably like every bread ever made....my mom is that way too. But, my favorites are sourdough bread and yeast rolls (just like you said...not out of the oven and with butter. YUM!)
ReplyDeleteThose rolls are beckoning me.
ReplyDeleteVery late as usual. I'm definitely motivated to bake when the weather cools so thank you for the link and I'm in total agreeance re real butter!
