Ours tends to be a little more silent than that, since mine is usually a push or an elbow, followed by stop snoring when he snorts. Then he just kind of grumbles. He has occasionally claimed to be awake if he falls asleep almost immediately when he lays down and starts snoring.
I guess it's pretty similar after all, except that I'm the meanie since I don't shush and I push.
Mine gained a bit of poundage over Christmas, and man, does it make a difference in his snoring. It takes me forever to fall asleep as I am constantly tugging his pillow to raise his chin up. I got him to try the Pure Sleep mouth guard thing and it works like a charm, but he hates wearing it. Sigh...
Ohh, yes, nothing better than being woken up at night by someone who figures, "I can't sleep, so why should you?" In that vein, if I'm ever awake and writing at 4 a.m., is it okay if I give some of you commenters a call? ;-)
Anyway, there's more than one reason couches were invented. As to which one goes there, I guess that would depend on the couple in question. I'm the more understanding type, so I'd take the couch. Can't speak for any other guys, though.
LOL!!! This was great...I feel for you, though....
My father snores louder than any human I've ever heard. He used to be so loud that my brother, sister, and I could hear him down the hall..How in the world my poor mother ever got any sleep is beyond me...
LOL! We've had that conversation here before too, several times, and it goes both ways! One night it was like a symphony with hubby, my daughter in the next room, and both dogs snoring all at once. I could still hear them all from the couch so I gave up and went blogging!
The other night I was the victim of a hypnic jerk. My husband whacked me in the forehead with his hand while he was sleeping! He snores too (although of course, he claims he doesn't). Riiiight.
Kat ~ oh funny,...I can relate though. I blogged some time last year about The Mister kicking me while he was dreaming! Another time he punched my pillow, barely missing my face! I told him one more time and he's out...I can't fall asleep while anticipating something like that! ha. I can take the snoring... seems much less violent! hee!
this is too funny! I remember once on a family vacay the 5 of us had one hotel room. My mom and sisters were all sitting up in bed because my dad was snoring so loud. All of a sudden he woke up and told my mom to be quiet she was snoring too loud and would wake the kids! HAhahahaha
Off subject, I really like your photo of the blue jay and the one of Nugget. They are nice photos. I don't snore much but I wake up when I do. I can hear it in my dreams and wake up. I am sure their are times when I don't hear them myself, but I quit sleeping on my back.
LD ~ well, thanks...I don't mind off topic comments at all. I'm really enjoying my birds up so close to the window. I had a new one today that I snapped pics of...still need to identify him!

ReplyDeleteKayren ~ I have been known to push, too! ha.
ReplyDeleteYes, we can relate.
ReplyDeleteMy dad used to say "I'm just resting my eyes", but the sounds said different ;)
I am so fortunate, Betsy, to have married a man who doesn't do much snoring. He breathes heavy --like most of us, but thank God, no loud snoring.
ReplyDeleteMy first husband and my three sons are SNORE.....Gads!
Hugs,
Betsy
I've had this conversation. Almost the exact words (and snores).
ReplyDeleteHehe, Betsy, this is something many women can relate too.;) Great, thanks for a great laugh on a Friday morning.;)
ReplyDeleteHave a great day,
xo

ReplyDeleteI can SO relate! We go through that on a weekly basis (well, maybe not that often, but it seems like it!)
