End of the Semester

Taylor's bedroom floor.
Seems the college guy finished that last exam and
in one motion stepped out of his clothes and bookbag...
and fell into bed. Oh gosh..remember that feeling?
The next time it comes back, you have newborns
and night time feedings! LOL!
First exam already came back...with a B..not bad!!

  1. The biggest difference between newborns and exam week is that the all-nighters with a newborn last a whole lot longer than one week!

Way to go, Taylor. Enjoy your well-deserved Christmas break!

  2. I completely agree with Christian...it lasts a lot longer with a newborn, especially when we have more than one! But I do have vague memories of those college years, just thinking that once I got through the finals I could get some sleep.

That's the difference...once you have a newborn you NEVER seem to get enough sleep again! Those newborns are 16 now...

    Good job with the B!

  3. I don't know, I felt that way all through college and for several years later but it certainly does look like he threw off his shirt with backpack still on.

  4. Oh that pile of clothes and bags dropped on the floor reminds me so much of my Alexander that just reading your post makes me miss him. He is skiing in France at the moment and won't be home until next Saturday. I will just have to be patient and, no doubt, in six days time I will have a pile of clothes and bags on the floor here at home. Congratulations to Taylor, surviving those first exams is always a challenge.

  5. This brought back memories of when I had exam weeks in college...I had a toddler...and whenever I would wonder if I could make it...I would just go stand over his crib and look at my little sleeping cherub...and the answer was plain...and years later I did spend some late night's with him during a few of his exam weeks...just cheering him on...as he had done for me!

  6. Alas, I never did the college thing but staying up for 5 days at a time, while in the Navy...~OY!

    I trust Taylor did well?

  7. Betsy,
I still have a nightmare about not passing an exam which causes me not to graduate from college. And then after my military service, I have to go back to get this class and there is always something that causes me still not to get my degree, as records not found, etc. Probably can be interpreted as me not having closure concerning something... who knows... :)

  12. Lord Wellington and Brian ~ I've had that dream 100 times or more! It just never goes away ...and seems so real. It's always a relief to wake up!

  13. Christian and Kayren ~ yes, you are absolutely right...but you must agree that a newborn in your arms is much more fun than a pile of class notes. LOL!

  14. Funny, I have a similar nightmare where I have a class I never go to and end up wondering if I'll pass, even though I never show up and never take tests. I had it again in the last couple of weeks. It's a horrible dream for a perfectionist.

  16. I love this photo. It is like a perfect short story.

I also like your new title picture and I am amazed that you were able to get it to fit PERFECTLY in the little minima template box. If there is a secret to that, let me know.

Can't wait to see the Christmas card picture!

  17. Tracey ~ it's not a secret. You can go into your 'edit html' and put in the proper number of pixels for your header wrapper. Then it fits perfectly every time! :)

  18. That is hilarious! Yes, I remember times like that. Newborns for sure. But I didn't go to college until I was in my early 40s, with a full time job, a very sick husband and a whole lot of other things going on. I was beyond tired. But I'm still glad I went.

  19. I never made it to college but I do know what it's like to deal with a newborn and a house full of children. Used to be my feet hit the floor running in the morning and didn't stop until I fell into bed at night.

I hope Taylor has a good break. :)

  21. Lovely pic Betsy - captures how Taylor must have been feeling at the time perfectly! Gave me a flashback to the days when all our boys slept into 3p.m. on a Sunday without a blink.

  23. From a mom's point of view, it's a perfect picture!
When college boy came home, it felt good because then all the beds were filled.
I would always sleep well, knowing everyone was home.
