Seems the college guy finished that last exam and
in one motion stepped out of his clothes and bookbag...
and fell into bed. Oh gosh..remember that feeling?
The next time it comes back, you have newborns
and night time feedings! LOL!
First exam already came back...with a B..not bad!!
The biggest difference between newborns and exam week is that the all-nighters with a newborn last a whole lot longer than one week!
ReplyDeleteWay to go, Taylor. Enjoy your well-deserved Christmas break!
I completely agree with Christian...it lasts a lot longer with a newborn, especially when we have more than one! But I do have vague memories of those college years, just thinking that once I got through the finals I could get some sleep.
ReplyDeleteThat's the difference...once you have a newborn you NEVER seem to get enough sleep again! Those newborns are 16 now...
Good job with the B!
I don't know, I felt that way all through college and for several years later but it certainly does look like he threw off his shirt with backpack still on.
ReplyDeleteOh that pile of clothes and bags dropped on the floor reminds me so much of my Alexander that just reading your post makes me miss him. He is skiing in France at the moment and won't be home until next Saturday. I will just have to be patient and, no doubt, in six days time I will have a pile of clothes and bags on the floor here at home. Congratulations to Taylor, surviving those first exams is always a challenge.
ReplyDeleteThis brought back memories of when I had exam weeks in college...I had a toddler...and whenever I would wonder if I could make it...I would just go stand over his crib and look at my little sleeping cherub...and the answer was plain...and years later I did spend some late night's with him during a few of his exam weeks...just cheering him on...as he had done for me!
ReplyDeleteAlas, I never did the college thing but staying up for 5 days at a time, while in the Navy...~OY!
ReplyDeleteI trust Taylor did well?
Betsy,
ReplyDeleteI still have a nightmare about not passing an exam which causes me not to graduate from college. And then after my military service, I have to go back to get this class and there is always something that causes me still not to get my degree, as records not found, etc. Probably can be interpreted as me not having closure concerning something... who knows... :)
The Bach
nice. and how big is the bag of dirty clothes he brought home? i was pretty good for that.
ReplyDeletebatch brought up a nightmare i have too of showing up to an exam and never having been to the class. i still have it. shivers.
I may be a little strange but I think that photo is beautiful. More than a thousand words in a simple snap.
ReplyDeleteOne of the best feelings!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Taylor.
So nice to visit with you again, Betsy. Your home is so comforting...even just visited through blogland.
With Love and Warmest Christmas Wishes...
I wish that I had had that opportunity in my life! Ah regrets! A B is awesome!
ReplyDeleteLord Wellington and Brian ~ I've had that dream 100 times or more! It just never goes away ...and seems so real. It's always a relief to wake up!
ReplyDeleteChristian and Kayren ~ yes, you are absolutely right...but you must agree that a newborn in your arms is much more fun than a pile of class notes. LOL!
ReplyDeleteFunny, I have a similar nightmare where I have a class I never go to and end up wondering if I'll pass, even though I never show up and never take tests. I had it again in the last couple of weeks. It's a horrible dream for a perfectionist.
ReplyDeletejust thinking that once I got through the finals I could get some sleep.
ReplyDeleteWork from home India
I love this photo. It is like a perfect short story.
ReplyDeleteI also like your new title picture and I am amazed that you were able to get it to fit PERFECTLY in the little minima template box. If there is a secret to that, let me know.
Can't wait to see the Christmas card picture!
Tracey ~ it's not a secret. You can go into your 'edit html' and put in the proper number of pixels for your header wrapper. Then it fits perfectly every time! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is hilarious! Yes, I remember times like that. Newborns for sure. But I didn't go to college until I was in my early 40s, with a full time job, a very sick husband and a whole lot of other things going on. I was beyond tired. But I'm still glad I went.
ReplyDeleteI never made it to college but I do know what it's like to deal with a newborn and a house full of children. Used to be my feet hit the floor running in the morning and didn't stop until I fell into bed at night.
ReplyDeleteI hope Taylor has a good break. :)
Hi! Betsy,
ReplyDeleteAll I can say about the photograph is...LOL!!!!
and congratulations to your son...
Taylor for completing his exams.
Take care!
DeeDee ;-D
Lovely pic Betsy - captures how Taylor must have been feeling at the time perfectly! Gave me a flashback to the days when all our boys slept into 3p.m. on a Sunday without a blink.
ReplyDeleteMillie ^_^
Congrats Taylor....
ReplyDeleteIt is so hard to believe one semester is already over...Where does the time go???
From a mom's point of view, it's a perfect picture!
ReplyDeleteWhen college boy came home, it felt good because then all the beds were filled.
I would always sleep well, knowing everyone was home.
Woohoo nice grade.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great feeling, and I bet you are a proud mom. Congrats to Taylor!!! Woot! :)
ReplyDeletegreat shot and words I know for sure...finals this week...home saturday, with her cat!!
ReplyDeleteI hope Taylor has a wonderful, carefree Christmas break! With a B he deserves to relax...hope the rest are just as great!
ReplyDeleteTime for a break for sure!
