College Pranks

Well, as you can see, we finally caught the mouse!
I made the picture small so it wouldn't be too
traumatic for some of you! LOL!
Taylor insisted on keeping the dead thing to play
a joke on his good friend, Daniel, who is deathly
afraid of mice...dead or alive. I guess Taylor has
tormented his friend with them before, even using a
girl's pet mouse and let it go in his lap. I say
Daniel needs to pay him back! ha!
I did some funny pranks in college, too.
We did a lot of the typical things....Vaseline on
the dorm room door knobs, taking some one's towel
and clothes while they were in the showers, and the
ever famous Saran Wrap on the toilet seats.
One girl in my unit of my junior year stole a dead
cat from the Biology Department (specimen for dissecting)
and hid it in her roommate's bed. Oh the screams!
So, do you remember any good pranks from your
siblings or college roomies?
BTW...as I'm typing this, Taylor and Daniel are here
watching Monday Night Football. The mouse is
laying on a plate in the cupboard, waiting for the
poor hungry college student to reach for it.
Taylor promises to disinfect everything in the
cupboard after he revives his friend. LOL!

  1. I think I would be right there with Daniel. I just hate mice. Dead or alive. UGH. Some people think they are cute. Not me. I'm back to blogging so I will be dropping by again. I've missed everyone!

  3. ha. we totally need a follow up after action report on this one...i heard this might have happened to a friend (keeping my deniability) but it seems he was tied up outside his girlfriends house wearing nothing but shaving cream the week after he asked her to marry him...in the middle of the night...i'd never do something like that...i'm a nice guy. smiles.

  4. Brian ~ Taylor's going to try to catch it on video.

Nothing but shaving cream, huh! I guess that wouldn't be too bad if the shaving cream was in just the right spots! LOL!

  8. I was a good girl, Betsy. :)

I wondered what that was in the picture on my dashboard. It actually looked more disgusting than a dead mouse. Then I came over and could tell immediately what it was of course.

We were fortunate that the one mouse we had at Fort Eustis we caught the first night we put out the trap. It was in the little closet where the water heater and furnace were located that I used as storage for canned goods and other things.

It was also the place we had the squirrel.

    Did I ever share that?

  9. Kayren ~ I don't remember a squirrel story! You'll have to tell it!

  13. Oh my gosh, that is going to be funny. I can just hear the howling now. Ha.

you know I never played any pranks in college. Maybe that was in part that I did not live on campus and was married through most of it or that I was always working, about 32 hours a week at nights and graveyard shifts through college to pay my way. However, I had one played on me where my wife asked two of our friends to kidnap me for my birthday and take me to Perkins restaurant. I had never heard that routine and fought them like crazy as I thought my wife was still out shopping and had horrid images of them lying in wait for her and so on. They got aggressive adn a little too carried away with nylon stockings on their heads and smashing the lights so I couldn't see them. Of course, my strength grew as I thought I was literally fighting for my life! Finally they gave up trying to tie me down and gag me! When we go to Perkins everyone saw the 3 of us looking like we had a bad scrap up--sweaty and bruised and hot faced. I can laugh now but at the time I thought that was the most bizarre birthday prank I had ever heard!!

Anyway, Betsy, you have to let us know how this particular mouse prank goes down! LOL.

  15. Ah, the mouse is so cute, but I am happy you caught it.;)
I can not recall any pranks that I played on my school mates, only one that I played on my sister when we were kids. I told her all the people in the TV could see her. She kept hiding behind a chair for days.;)

  16. I found a dried dead baby mouse one year in the branches of our artificial Christmas tree. WT put it in a clear bulb and it's now an ornament, hung on the back side of the tree, of course.

  17. Willow ~ oh my....a Christmas ornament, just for the ghosties! ha!

  18. Mmm ~ oh dear...yes, I can see how that would be very scary...and NOT funny at the time!

  19. I'm with Daniel... mice freak me out, dead or alive. Eek!
What a cool and hip mom you are, for letting such a prank take place in your home!

  20. Dead mouse on a plate? Nice trick. We once wrapped some frozen kipper fillets round a 'friend's' immersion heater tank - apparently they weren't found for a month - the area around the tank was sprayed and adorned with all manner of air-fresheners to no avail - it was only when a plumber was called that the heinous crime was solved.
Very naughty of us - but great fun nontheless!

  22. I never went to college and I was not much of a prankster, believe it or not!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Otin ~ I would have thought you would have been a big prankster! I'm very surprised!

  24. I have little sympathy for mice or voles but then they do make good eating for screech owls. I can get along with them outside but not indoors.

  25. We tied two doors across the hall from one another together and knocked on both doors. It was a pretty funny tug of war. Steve used to throw Tang on his roomates as soon as they turned the water off in the shower. I tried a prank on Steve when we were first married. He was NOT amused!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Christy ~ oh, that Tang prank is funny! I can see all that orange powder sticking to a wet body! So Steve can dish it out, but can't take it, huh!? He did get crankier as he got older! ha-ha!

  27. Eeeeeek! I'm with Daniel. I hate it when there's a mouse in the house and I have to trap it. YUCK!

I went to a boarding school for one year. We loved scaring our downstairs neighbor by stuffing clothing and hanging it out the window so it would dangle in front of hers. She always fell for it.

  28. I'm with Daniel and the others...Am absolutely terrified of the little things.

    ..Snakes...nah...but mice and rats?...Good grief...I scream like a banshee!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Ha! I misread Willow's comment. I thought WT put a light bulb IN the mouse and they hang it from the tree! Phew!

  30. Aren't boys fun? I think so. I wrote recently about pranks we all played on each other at the power plant where I worked a million years ago when I was 19... you might enjoy them.

  31. love this story and the continuation in the next post. too funny! the worst trick i ever played on anyone in college was to help 6 other girls fill a huge metal trash can with water. we then rolled it to the dorm door of a floor mate who we were not overly fond of. we leaned the can against the door, knocked and ran. when she opened the door her room was flooded with water. we got called to the dorm's mother's office and received a stern lecture. it was worth every tense moment!!

  32. Julie ~ Oh, that is TOO funny! Sometimes the punishment is worth the crime! LOL!
