in a huge traffic jam! I guess there was a pile-up
type of accident and the entire three lanes of the
state route going in my direction
were merged onto one tiny country road.
It took me an hour longer to make the trip!
I just had to laugh, since for Theme Thursday last
and I just happened to have my camera with me.
It's easy to take pictures when you are rolling along
at only 3 MPH! LOL!
It's surrounded by color!
As I crawled along, a flock of geese landed in this pond.
They did somersaults and completely disappeared
under water looking for food.
This beautiful old cemetery caught my eye. Did you ever
do the superstitious thing of holding your breath while
driving by a cemetery so the spirits couldn't get you?
My sister and I always did that. The really big ones
were a challenge to our little lungs! ha! It took me so long
to drive by this one that I'm sure I inhaled several ghosts!
Hope they were friendly! ha!
Well, there you have it...traffic in our neck of the woods! Who would guess!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful day to be STUCK in traffic though!

ReplyDeleteChachaneen ~ the leaves are perfect right now! We're at our peak...I'm sure in another week they will all be on the ground!
ReplyDeleteOf course they were the friendly type ~ but you should never have told us you didn't have traffic ~ you jinxed it! I love your photos and especially the cemetery story. I had never heard about holding your breath ............
ReplyDeleteI do seem to remember something about holding our breath. Wasn't it you who called them "gravy yards"? :D

ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful scenery. You couldn't have asked for a better day to get stuck. I'd just see concrete probably!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard about holding your breath when you go by a cemetery. You know I'm always going to think about that now when I drive by one, and I do almost all the time on the way to church (the main back way we go we pass a little country one). Just had to go and mess me up, didn't you?!
Well, that's the irony of life Betsy! Say you haven't got something and it will surely come your way. LOL
ReplyDeleteYour traffic jam was our joy!!!! What beautiful pictures you took at 3mph!!! Love these! And how ironic! Traffic!! Too funny! Laughing with you! Love your tale about the cemetery...I've never heard of that superstition...I'll bet you and your sister had quite the challenges with that one as little girls!!! Very fun post! ~Janine XO
