Oh my!

I came out to the kitchen this morning
and look what I found in my water glass!
I sure am glad I didn't stumble out here
in the dark of night and take a big gulp!

  1. Oh, Betsy!! You are so funny!! I get these all the time by my kitchen sink. (I call them 'banana spiders' because of their color) They seem to like water and they are harmless. I can't bear to kill them...call me crazy, but sometimes I gently relocate them. lol!!

I like to keep a water glass on my nightstand and sometimes in the dark, I wonder what I am drinking. Maybe it is worth just getting up and going into the kitchen for a drink. Then again, considering what I just wrote about the bnana spiders...Ha!

Have a great start with the new week, Betsy!

    xoxo

  2. Okay, that gives me those chills and shudders you get along with them. I am such an arachnophobe! Gives me the creeps to think about you maybe drinking out of it. It's almost as bad as our black widow experience when we were leaving Virginia last year. Eek!

Post one of your long color posts now so that picture bumps down a long way.

  5. You know, I've heard stats about how many spiders we swallow in our sleep during our lifetimes, but I just have a hard time believing them. I guess you can be glad you don't sleep walk:)

  7. It's getting time to add or revise your side bar. I do so love to peruse these and yet, what? no changes! I;m getting tired of seeing the average looking nascar driver bloke1 Ha.

Also, time to add to your encouraging words and prayers list. I love that. I'm sure sometimes you have to read that through a number of times.

  10. Somehow making a picture of a spider inside a glass into a pleasing and surprising photographic composition : no that is talent.

  11. Aw, that was truly lucky!
I hate spiders, yet my house is riddled with them. They are everywhere and they are HUGE. But I am told that they are good as they keep other insects at bay. No well, as long as they keep way long away from me.;)

  14. Lora ~ oh, that's just digusting! I would hope that if a spider crawled in my mouth while I was sleeping that I would wake up! ha-ha! Although, I've gotten up in the morning to find a spider bite before...always creeps me out to think one was crawling on my while I slept.

  16. Eeeek! But, I'll take a spider any day...

At least it wasn't the roach that I spotted this morning creeping around on my bathroom counter!

  19. I second Books, Coffee, Etc. - Yikes! (My hubby killed a big spider but unfortunately she had an egg sack. As she curled up and died, baby spiders began running all over the floor. It was like a horror version of Charlotte's Web!)

  20. Great composition, Betsy. Maybe you could blow up the picture and hang it on your wall. Very cool!

  21. Betsy! That reminds me of the time I left a waterjug at my bedside (here in India!) and when I woke up there was this huge, dead cockroach floating in it. I covered my jug from that time onward.....

  22. Now do you think I can take a drink of my water during the night???? Don't think so/ha Guess I'll have to turn on the light to do so....
The kids tell me we swallow spiders during the night when our mouths are open....I don't like to think about it!

  26. I linked to your site through Life at Willow Manor and came across your spider story. I couldn't help wishing that the spiders in my house would do the same. Not sure whether you'd be interested, but here's what it takes to get my spiders into a pint glass: http://homeacrossthewater.wordpress.com/2009/04/18/no-room-at-the-inn/

P.S. Looking forward to reading more of your blog.
