I have fond memories as a little girl looking for Mr. Pig
in my great grandma's china cabinet when we would
go for a visit. For many years now, Mr. Pig has
been in my china cabinet, looking dapper as ever
in his bow tie and umbrella. Maybe one day I'll
have a granddaughter that will seek him out
among the tea pots and sugar bowls, too!
Betsy, oh so sweet. My little granddaughter has given me so much happiness. Yours will love these treasures. Such a darling little piggy. I used to collect pigs. I think they really get a bum rap.
ReplyDeleteHe's darling! Yes, I think a little granddaughter would be the perfect heir. Maybe just maybe someday there will be a little miss with whom you can share secrets and tea and pigs.
ReplyDeleteHe is so cute!!! I hope you do have a granddaughter to inherit the pig and your love!!!
ReplyDeleteI pray that you get that granddaughter!
ReplyDeleteChristine ~ awww..thanks! But make sure you pray "not any time soon!" :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you do have a granddaughter that searches for that little piggy!
ReplyDeleteHey, what kind of flowers are those in your header now?
What a little treasure he is! So cute! Going over to authorblog now to check out your post!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute little piggy and post.
ReplyDeleteHi! Betsy,
ReplyDelete"Maybe one day I'll have a granddaughter that will seek him out among the tea pots and sugar bowls, too!"
Let me echo what the other commenters have already said, I hope so too!
What a nice gift...handed down to you and hopefully, you will hand it down...
Thanks, for sharing Betsy...
...DeeDee ;-D
What a cute little statue; it reminds me of a set of little salt and pepper pigs, that I once received as a gift from my mom.;))

Betsy. Nice post - as always - but it is the photograph that caught me eye. It would have been so easy to crop that photo and make it ordinary. Your treatment of it makes it immediately eye-catching.
ReplyDeleteOh how wonderful! I remember looking at special favorites in my grandmother's china cabinet! Have a great weekend...Debbie
ReplyDeleteawww. I love grandmother memories. I have a few similar ones that you've reminded me of today. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteKayren ~ those are Morning Glories!

I've always loved Mr. Pig. When we first brought Ralphy home he looked just like that and even grunted. We thought about naming him Pig, but not a good name for the handsome big dog he turned out to be.
ReplyDeleteHi Betsey. I'm not into ornaments, unless they are bottles of beer on the mantlepiece!
ReplyDeleteHave you visited "Life in the Pub" yet? I share this blog with John G, because it's my "local" when I'm in the area.
I notice that todays post includes a picture of me! Don't tell anyone, because I don't usually let anyone photgraph me. (The police are still looking for me!)
He's sweet! Those eyes make him look quite Asian. Is he? Does he have a name? What's Chinese for pork?
ReplyDeleteKat (still no computer).
Sweet memories. I have my grandmother's china cabinet now with some of her special things. I hope they will mean alot to my girls one day.
ReplyDeleteAwww...I just want to give Mr. Pig a big ole kiss...mwah!!
ReplyDeletetoo cute!
ReplyDeleteLove your Mr. Pig! I have a tiny porcelain pig given to me by my great-grandma. He's a treasure:)
ReplyDeleteKat ~ He doesn't have any markings on the bottom, so I have no idea!
ReplyDeleteBut you need a Ms. Piggie too, don't you?1 :)
ReplyDeleteisn't he a sweetie!! what fond memories and i know he is so treasured there in your china cupboard!!~
ReplyDeleteMr. Pig looks as if he is puckering up for a smooch!
