huge blackberries will be wonderful this winter!
If you freeze them laying on a jellyroll pan before putting
them in a Ziploc, they will be separated instead of frozen
in a big block. They're instantly ready to toss into muffin
batter or on top of pancakes.
That is the way I did my blueberries too. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDelete...except that don't these blackberries have crunchy seeds inside, which means that it makes your food have texture, which of course means I have a texture issue with the food...we're back to that food in my food thing again.
ReplyDeleteBut do this with a blueberry like Valerie and I'm all over it!
Hi Betsy
ReplyDeleteI love the morning glory in the header.
Happy days
Hi Betsy,
ReplyDeleteThose berries look wonderful. It will be a few weeks before they are ripe for picking over here. I am looking forward to a blackberry pie.
What a great idea.;))
ReplyDeleteI love berries and it is truly the time for picking them now; my favorite are blueberries.;)
Did I tell you that I love your new header? I love the blue flowers.
xo
Valerie ~ me, too! Hey, thanks for coming to my blog!
ReplyDeleteKayren ~ yes, they have crunchy seeds! I'll eat the blackberries, you just stick to the blueberries! ha-ha!
ReplyDeleteor just to eat frozen...or put in ice cream...love berries! frozen and otherwise...
ReplyDeleteKayren ~ do you like nuts or raisins in your cookies or does that bother you, too?
ReplyDeleteAnd they look as pretty as gemstones!
ReplyDeletethose look so delicious - if I lived closer to you, I would help you taste them.
ReplyDeletewill you be baling a cobbler with any of them?
I do the same...blueberries too...great in yogurt or oatmeal!
ReplyDeleteThat's a good idea. We have wild blackberry bushes up and down our road and driveway. The trick is to get to them before the bears do and the bears don't usually wait til they're perfectly ripe so it's a battle.
ReplyDeleteYum! We have some in the freezer as well.
ReplyDeleteOh yum! I've been craving blackberry cobbler.
ReplyDeleteLooks wonderful...I had the most delicious berry salad this weekend. This takes me back to my Grandmother's when my cousin, brother, sister, and I would help pick blackberries for cobbler or jam. We always had to make sure and watch for those nasty Copper Heads as they loved to hide in the patches...
ReplyDeleted'oh! Why did I never think to do this? So simple...
