I don't always make my own, but sometimes I do!

Hamburger Buns
1 c milk
1 beaten egg
1 T melted butter
3/4 t salt
2 T sugar
3 1/4 c bread flour
2 t rapid rise yeast

Pull all ingredients into your bread machine in the order given.
Set for "bread dough". After kneading is complete,
remove dough before it rises. (that's about 30 minutes on
mine and it beeps at this point). Lay on floured
surface and divide into 9 balls. Rest 5 minutes.
I agree - yum! and what a cute name they have too.
ReplyDeleteThey sound so good! I need buns tomorrow and wish I had some yeast to do these with. I'll be trying them. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOh...those look delicious!
ReplyDeleteBetsy....the bread, roll, bun Champ!!!! You make it look so easy. (not for me)
ReplyDeleteThose look wonderful!!!
Yum is right! But alas, I don't have a bread machine, so I can't make them. Make them for me? :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy your shared this recipe. I look forward to making it soon. Blessings to you and yours.
ReplyDeleteUm...that should have been, "I'm so happy YOU shared..."
ReplyDeleteYum is right. You must be the best cook!!
ReplyDeleteEveryone here is a talented chef; not me.;)) Ok, maybe I am not totally bad in the baking department, but still.;)) This post made me want to have some fresh baked bread.;)) Mmmm.

Okay...those burger buns look scrumptious! What kind of bread machine do you use? I need to get me one of those. You do make it look so easy and delicious! Perhaps you'll be preparing Julia Child's hamburger recipe for the buns? She's so "in" right now.
ReplyDeletebon appetit!
I really wish I had the patience to do all that. They look amazing! You are Wonder Woman, aren't you? (Tell the truth you have the suit in your closet, right?)
ReplyDeleteKat
Maggie ~ I should do Julia's recipe! And I need to see that movie soon...sounds adorable!..especially with blogging being involved! LOL
ReplyDeleteI have a Breadman...it's over 10 years old. It's huge, though...I know they make them smaller now, which would be much more convenient. My sister has a cute little stainless steel one, which I'd like to buy some day. Mine still works great though, so it won't be happening any time soon. :)
Yummm!! I can hardly wait for "break" fast.
ReplyDeleteOh goodness, they look so good! Who needs hamburgers! I'd eat those hot out of the oven slathered in some butter!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the recipe - this is something I want to try making!
Manuela
Hi Betsy ~~ For some reason my computer won't show the pictures, but I can imagine those Burger Buns.
ReplyDeleteWe had a bread machine years ago, and I literally wore it out...!
You mentioned the drizzle on the banana bread... I'm the queen of drizzle... I drizzle almost everything I bake!!
Manuela ~ funny you mentioned eating them warm with butter. That's what Taylor did...to three of them!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness those look delicious. But I am supposed to be on a diet. Perhaps I will sacrifice the burger and just have the bun.
ReplyDeleteYummy yummy! I lurve bread and homemade really is the best.
ReplyDeleteLook so good, I am going to try these. Me and my husbands grandmother were just talking how we don't like store bought hamburger buns, but I bet we would love these ones. Your so talented Betsy!!! Thanks for all the great ideas.
ReplyDeleteRonda :)
Ronda ~ when I buy buns, I get Aunt Millies brand...whole wheat. If you have those in your area, you should try them! Nice to hear from you! :)
ReplyDeleteOne of our galley cooks used to make these, when I was in the Navy. No bread machine tho'; all done the old-fashioned way. I can just smell these baking...mmmm...
ReplyDeleteThese look great; I often get a scorched bottom on mine. Do you have any suggestions?
ReplyDeleteTut-tut ~ sounds like you may have the oven temp too high. If not, try doubling your cookie sheets...it creates an air cushion that protect the bottoms of cookies and rolls from burning. Thanks for the visit!
ReplyDeleteI'm filled with admiration! I can just smell them baking...
ReplyDeleteOh, my...I'm impressed....
ReplyDeletewow, I never knew making homemade hamburger buns was possible!
