Beautiful Groundcover

~~~~Strawberry update~~~~
The above picture are Wild Strawberries.
Completely edible. Smaller in size but
more flavorful than commercial strawberries.
This is a Wood Strawberry! This is what is
growing in my flower garden! It is edible,
but tasteless. Too bad! And, according to Google,
there are no poisonous plants that resemble strawberries.
Whew! But if it's tasteless, what's the point!?
They suggest putting them in salads just for the color.
Original post...
This pretty ground cover found our yard and started spreading!
Anybody know the name? It's like little mock strawberries in the
berries and the leaves! So pretty....I wonder if it's poisonous!
  1. Growing up we always called it wild strawberries and my mother always warned us not to eat the berries. I'm not sure of its "real" name. Lovely photo.
  8. Thanks all ~ I guess I'll call them wild strawberries...(and maybe not eat them!) I'm glad they have adopted my flower garden!
    Yes, the peonies held up well this year! We had a full week of them blooming before any rain came to weight them to the ground. It's the first year in a long time that we've been able to enjoy them for such a long time!
