Ginormous! That is nutso! I've never seen a strawberry that big! Did you cut it up and put it in a salad? I'm sooo glad that you took a picture of this sucker!
Marie ~ I bought 8 pounds of these at Sams Club! Most of the berries are that big! They're amazing! ...grown in California. Yum! I love it when they are in season!
oh my, i've never seen a strawberry that large!! i have fond strawberry memories. we had a huge strawberry patch as a kid and my oldest brother rodger and i were tasked with picking them and selling them in a little stand we set up at my grandparents restaurant. what entrepreneurs we were at 11 and 10!!!
I saw you got them at Sam's Club and that they tasted good. I'll have to check it out, although I try to get strawberries as often as I can organic because of the whole pesticide thing. But Sam's are so reasonable and they always taste so good it just kills me to pass them up...and I usually don't. Looking at yours now, I'll probably go just to get some, and then try to get out of the store without spending a fortune on other things. It will be your fault otherwise! :)
They were al that big! Wowsers! They aren't quite in season in France. At the market on Friday they were selling for 5 euros for a small basket.. ouch!

ReplyDeleteI have never seen a strawberry of this size; and here in Denmark they grow very well.
ReplyDeleteI hope it tasted as good as it looks.;))
Nanny ~ They have really good flavor...I'm glad they weren't the bland ones you can get sometimes! Very sweet!
ReplyDeleteThose remind me of Alice-in-Wonderland sizes. With a HUGE bowl of cream and a HUGE spoon alongside - hee-hee!
ReplyDeleteWOW, some berry, that would fill up one person.
ReplyDeleteWere they fed steroids? I'm glad they were tasty too - that's always disappointing when they look that amazing and then taste like nothing!
