Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results
of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown
out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage
to follow your heart and intuition.
They somehow already know what you truly want to become.
Everything else is secondary."
Steve Jobs, American Entrepreneur

Well, I have to agree with Steve on this quote. I always did what I wanted to do and that involved making some drastic changes in my life and what I was doing at the time. Now, I have no regrets.
ReplyDeleteI still have the old blogs but I also have new ones Abe Lincoln Blogs and also look at Abraham Lincoln's Blog
Abe ~ I agree...I think those that try to live to please other people end up with some regrets.
ReplyDeleteYou have so many blogs I can't keep up...I'll come check out these new ones soon!
Great food for thought here and so true.
ReplyDeleteThis kind of goes along with my Dannah Gresh book I'm reading right now.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to work my way backwards and catch up on reading. I think I have about a month's worth! The worst thing is that I missed seeing all your beautiful "furniture rearranging" while I was absent. Love the snowy cherries!
I also saw that you are working on taking down your decorations...maybe...haha. I got my tree up so late that mine is still up and I'm enjoying it a little longer.
Blessings to you and yours!
Kayren
Great post. Thanks for sharing such valuable pearls of wisdom.
ReplyDeleteSteve Jobs is my hero; I am totally in awe of what he has been able to accomplish. He is very intelligent and talented; this quote is a true example of that.;)
ReplyDeletePretty smart fella! I'm glad he did this. Because Mac Apples are the best!!!
ReplyDeleteVery recently, I had to end a very dear frienship. It was time although I wish it had never had to come to an end - we had so many great times together. But things changed. I have good days and bad days. Today was one of those bad days - missing my friends (they were a couple). It has been on my mind all day. Your post was just what I needed. Almost as though you had written it to me personally. Thank you, Betsy. God sometimes takes people out of our lives even though we don't want it to be that way. And, sometimes he sends people into our lives, people we don't even really know, that helps us put things back into perspective. Kim
ReplyDeleteHey, how are you doing?
ReplyDeleteGreat quote. It reminds me of the scripture "For it is God who works in you, both to will and to do according to His own pleasure." Great post today. Strider
ReplyDeletewow that is a powerful quote ~thanks for passing it on.
ReplyDeleteSO VERY, VERY wise!
ReplyDeleteI like this line: "Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown
ReplyDeleteout your own inner voice."
Too bad that most of us don't recognize the wisdom of that statement until we are halfway through our lives. I finally started getting smarter around 35 or 40.
ReplyDeleteExcellent quote! Thanks so much for sharing it with us.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I needed that. Seriously.
ReplyDeleteThank you Betsy for the quote. My mom loves your blog and always talks about how great you are...I hope you will come read my post about her today.
