"A gift is pure when it is given from the heart ...
to the right person...at the right time...and at the right place,
...and when we expect nothing in return."

  1. I have given and received several pure gifts. They are wonderful and memorable. The icy pictures in your margin and header are wonderful! The muffins you made on Saturday are still fresh and delicious! Thank you - I'm enjoying one with my latte.

  2. A brown paper package tied up with string! Willow should put this image on her sidebar.

    Beautiful quote.

  3. Very well said.
I like the picture of the package, as it is very simple. Sometimes simplicity speaks volumes.;))

  4. I've been thinking about you and wondering if you were iced over or lost power. Then I saw the ice on the sidebar. But if you're on the computer I suppose you have power and are toasty warm!

  6. Kayren ~ yes, we got ice and then a beautiful layer of snow on top. It really hasn't been inconvenient at all...the salt trucks came through and nobody lost power! Are you getting that super cold wave that is coming through the north? I'll have to look for you on the weather radar. The wind chills are deadly!

  7. The gift was thoughful, I know it made you happy.
I am going to make your "muffins" after I do grocery shopping tomorrow. This is the weather for something warm and baked. I will have to modify it a bit because I am Diabetic, I can have brown sugar. Do you think I could use half whole wheat flour and half white flour and they will be about the same ? Hugs to you and family~~~

  9. Betsy ~ it's snowing again very late tonight (Monday into Tuesday) and tomorrow during the commute time it's supposed to be bad...some white-out conditions. Then as the cold, arctic air moves in, it will put a stop to the snow, and we'll have wind chills between -10 and -20. Our low tomorrow night is supposed to be -2. Tuesday is Caboose's birthday, so I have to go pick up his DQ birthday cake we ordered at noon. Hopefully the snow will be under control by then and the blowing will not cause white-outs while I'm driving.
