It's All In My Head, Right?

Have you ever noticed that you feel more hungry as soon as
you decide you are dieting? I had more self control over
the holidays when there were tons of homemade goodies
surrounding me! ha! But as soon as I start eating Special K
for breakfast and trying not to snack, I can't think of
anything but food! I have been in constant hunger!
Care for a Cheeto?

  1. I know the feeling Betsy!

From the little picture on my blog, I thought this was a person in a tub full of oranges. At least they would've been good for you ;-)

  2. Hi Betsy, hope everything is going well with you and your five men. We are doing great here with my three men. I'd say yes to a Cheetos, but for the kids, Nope. Colors, Colors everywhere. See you around and take care of yourself.

  4. Haha. Love the pic. So funny. Well, you know, sorry to say, Betsy, but you're going to have to rid yourself of the Special K too! I just got a box and it's got tonnes of sugar it in. Ah, that's why ti tastes so goog!

  5. Um, no, to those particular Cheetos. But it is a funny picture...I laughed out loud when I saw it. You know, you could crop that picture and use it in one of your color posts.

I don't even try to diet anymore (I have absolutely no will power) and I need to get in shape. I was gifted with the family hips.

  6. What a funny picture; almost a bit gross, but I love the orange color.;))
I know how you feel though, diets are impossible. The only way I can diet is NOT to have anything that can tempt me at home.;)
    Good luck Betsy.;))

  7. Oh Betsy - I feel your pain! I've been working on it since Nov. I *will* say that (for me at least), after I get past the first 3-4 days, it got easier and I wasn't fixating on wanting to eat so much. Having said that - at least from your photo, you don't look like you need to lose any!

  9. That's so true - It seems like hours between meals too. Well it is hours, but we ususally don't sit around counting them.

  11. Protege ~ yes, having the food around is the bad part. I found myself digging in the candy bars for the kids school lunches! I need to live alone for a few months, surrounded by fruit. ha!

  12. That is so true! We started Weight Watcher's last Monday and was immediately starving. ;-) Seriously, it's going well but I need some baked cheetos now.

  13. That picture cracks me up b/c I LOVE cheetos:)

I just started that Special K *diet* yesterday. It was so hard just having that for breakfast and lunch. I'm not very good at dieting.

  17. Oh, I thought it was a macaroni and cheese bath!I guess Cheetos would have the whole loofah thing going on. As for the "diet" it's best to think of it as "eating the way I really want to now." After all, you want to be healthy and you want to stay gorgeous, right? You are CHOOSING what to eat. If you are hungry all the time, you probably aren't eating enough, which will just sabotage you in the long run. Slow and steady really does do the trick (along with lots of crunches! and I don't mean the Cheeto kind!). If I sound like the voice of experience, I am sorry to say it is PAST experience. As for now, I'm giving myself a pep talk on your blog!

  18. What a hysterically funny photo! I think about food a lot and especially when dieting..sigh.

I think MMMM is right -- cereals are full of sugar which makes one hungry. Protein is mush more satisfying and diet worthy.

  19. Isn't that the truth? And I am now so conscious of what I'm doing...I often find myself just picking something off the little boys plates & bringing it to my mouth before I even realize what I am doing! Oh, to be 20 again and not have to worry about what I ate!
