I sometimes grill mine till a little soft, stuff them wuth cooked chopped spinach and tomatoes, cover them with mozarella cheese and grill them again in my oven until the cheese melts a little, and then they are like a veggie pizzas! Yum-0!
I'm glad you enjoyed my market post -- we LOVE that place as it is full of so many wonderful foods from around the world.
Mmmmmm, I have often happily paired sliced portobello mushrooms with pasta. The two seem made for each other; but on its own, grilled or as described here, this mushroom satisfies--so meaty and chewy. Thanks, Betsy.
We had a chef prepare these for us once up in Victoria BC Canada. The chef and his dad had picked them earlier that day....tied in with the fresh halibut that he had bought at the dock, it was a great dinner. Have a wonderful 4th.
I've never had a grilled portobello, although I enjoy mushrooms in many dishes. I giggle to consider what my husband's reaction would be if I plopped one on his plate one evening. He would not be to keen on it!
OOOOHHH..... YUUUMMMMMYYYYY! LOVE grilled portabellos. They're also good grilled, then put inside panini sandwiches, which I make on the Foreman grill. Yummo.
Oh my goodness...I need to try this. We are definitely mushrooms lovers at this house. Like Pat, we also love spinach, mozarella, tomatoes.etc...Her grilling idea sounds wonderful as well...
That looks so good!! I am a big fan of mushrooms. I think I'll try the recipe, of course I think I might be the only one that likes it, since nobody around here is a fan of them.
I love mushrooms of all kinds, Betsy!
