Bumbleberry Preserves

Bumbleberry is an old-fashioned name for
something made with several varieties of berries.

I'm still picking daily, so I thought I'd make some preserves using red raspberries, blueberries and strawberries. The preserves were delicious on scratch buttermilk biscuits, which nicely rounded out our supper of grilled salmon on a bed of greens from the garden. I had a second one for dessert! :) Maybe a bumbleberry pie will be next!

The basic recipe is 1 lb. fruit, 1 c sugar, 1/4 c water and 1/2 t cinnamon.

Simmer on low one hour.

  4. Betsy, you have the most fabulous pictures of food! I'll bet your kitchen and house always smell so good. Where do you pick berries? Are you growing them? I have to chime in with Jill, but I'll try not to say it 3 times. I love the biscuit. Yummy for the Tummy. You are always so sweet in your comments on my blog. I think of you and the boys from time to time during the day and pray for you. Love ya, Trish
