Storing Asparagus

The best way to store asparagus in your refrigerator
is to trim the ends and put them in a container with
an inch or two of water in the bottom.
They will stay fresh and crisp much longer!
Notice that I don't have a vase of flowers in
my frig! Although it would have made a
pretty picture here! LOL

  2. I read this tip for the first time yesterday. It makes total sense. I'm happy to have learned it and will look forward to using it... my asparagus always seems to get slimy very quickly.

  3. MG ~ I've done this for years and it really works. You don't feel like you have to use it the day you buy it! You're right...it does wilt and get slimy fast!

  5. Thanks for this tip and now I wont feel so pressed to use all the asparagus up so quickly...What I really want to tip my hat off to you for is that the inside of your refrigerator is clean enough to actually photograph! LOL!!! You don't want to see what mine looks like at the moment....

  7. Betsy, thanks for the tip. I am picking up a big bunch every Wednesday here at the Farmer's market...so fresh and good...but truth be told, they are gobbled up the same day....we love asparagus so much in our house. Served with olive oil drizzled over it.
