Gourmet Steak Tacos

A few days ago Modgirl mentioned that she made my
Marinated Grilled Flank Steaks. She said that the day
after, she used the leftovers to make tacos! So this evening
I tried her idea....I sprinkled the steak strips
with a little cumin before heating them up. Then they went
into the warm, crispy shells along with guacamole, shredded
cheese, sour cream, shredded romaine and home-canned
salsa from last year's summer tomatoes.
Thanks, Modgirl, for the fabulous idea! These were the best tacos I've ever had! When it gets close to summer tomato season, I'll post my yummy salsa recipe!

  3. Don't you just love how tacos are so versatile! I am curious how the recipe would work with chicken tenderloins. Thanks for all the marvelous ideas, I hope you have a peaceful trip.

  4. Kim ~ yes, they are versatile! I've made them with chicken tenderloins before. I've put the taco seasoning packet on them, or just used the common seasonings from my pantry like cumin, hot sauce, chili, garlic and onion powder. The toppings are versatile, too! Yum...I wish there were leftovers of the leftovers!

  6. Oh Betsy I've just sat down; I'm bone tired; on my feet all day, and the crushing weight of: what am I going to make for dinner when I can barely stand....

Well, seeing your post reminded me that I have soft taco kit in the cupboard! .... and if I can stir these old bones to go get some ground meat (unfortunately no leftover steak in the kitchen!)...then, that will be dinner. Thanks!~
