My sister gave me this recipe
about 20 year ago and it's still one
of our favorites!
Thanks, sister! :) If you recognize my cake stand/dome as being from
The Cheesecake Factory, you are right!
I drooled over them every time I was
in there and finally called them and
inquired about them. They kindly
sold me one for $20! I thought that
was a steal! Just goes to show you
that it never hurts to ask!

  1. Woo Hoo!!!! Not just another NASCAR sister but a #24 one at that!!!!!! So, you're from Ohio? I have alot of family in Ohio. My mom is from there. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I read some of yours...you take beautiful photographs. I'll have to add you to my favorites :-)

  2. I lost your address, so I'm answering your question here. I don't get a walmart ad often, but I always take my ads in there for other stores & they honor those sales. I also double check the prices cuz sometimes walmart is cheaper. I keep a price book of the items I use most & www.couponmom.com has a list of prices at their local walmart (Ga) I've found my walmart to be cheaper than hers.

  3. Hi Rebecca! I'm glad I saw you on mrs mordecai's site. It was a surprise to see you were a 24 fan! We'll have to cheer together this season. I see you live in Kansas City...have you been to a race at that speedway? We go up to Michigan every August. There's nothing like actually being there!

  4. Hi, Betsy! This is the first time I have come across another Betsy in the blog world!

    Great recipe!

  5. Another Betsy!? Wow ~ it's great to meet you. Thanks for introducing yourself...I'll go over and check out your blog!

  6. Lord love a duck, you're making me hungry here. I guess I'm going to have to make some of your blueberry muffins. I'm sure you put a lot of love in them for your five men. Your picture is so inviting! Thanks for sharing.

  9. betsy--"met" you at modobject--and am glad to visit your blog. This domed cake plate is divine!! Thank you for your encouraging words on God's faithfulness in your profile. See you again soon.

  10. LOVE the cake dome -- and I can't believe they sold it to you for $20! What a delight.

I've never seen a blueberry muffin recipe calling for buttermilk. I'll bet they're wonderful. Blueberries are on sale here this week -- I think I'll try this. Thanks.

  11. Hi Gracelaced ~ nice to meet you and thanks for stopping over to my blog. I'll be over to see yours soon!

Modgirl ~ yes, I love this cake dome and stand! It's so fun to put baked things in it! It makes a great centerpiece on the table, too. :) I love getting a bargin that you enjoy every day! Thanks for commenting!

  12. Hi Betsy,
I was wondering about the amount of flour to use, am I missing it I do not see flour other than to add alternately with buttermilk. I love the pics of the Cincy Train Museum, you should have come over for tea, we are just a hop, skip, and a jump from there. My husband works downtown, there are so many interesting things to see there. Thank you!

  13. Kim ~ it's 2 cups of flour! I've corrected the recipe. Thanks!

I'm serving coffee! Stay and chat!
And no awards, please! Your comments are my awards!
