months outside on the porches and in the courtyard.
I think they enjoyed the filtered light and being watered
by the rain clouds. Bringing them inside recently, has
reminded me how a few plants can make a room feel so
alive and cozy! So I welcome in the ivy, cyclamen and
the monster fern....among a few other friends. :)
I love plants, but they die when I bring them in. Yours look lovely!
ReplyDeleteMy cyclamen is still in the ground--I'll dig it soon. Ferns don't do well in my house as they want a south facing window (and so do I). Your plants are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI will bring the geraniums in before a hard frost and put them in the basement to winter over. They did well last year.
I love having a few houseplants, too. And I hear they're good for the air:)
ReplyDeleteLynne ~ I brought geraniums in one year for the winter years ago...they did do very well and were absolutely huge by spring time! I should bring them in again!
ReplyDeleteSisterly minds think alike. I just brought mine in yesterday. It's like a jungle in here now!
ReplyDeleteit does add just a touch of life...that makes all the difference. i imagine they will be happier on cold days as well.
ReplyDeleteLovely Photos.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your message, sorry for late reply. Very busy at the moment even though Lou is back at school. Im now single to life is even tougher at the mo.
Hope you and the boys are well and hope to blog within the next few weeks.
Take care
xx
Hi Betsy
ReplyDeletethey look very healthy...you must have green thumbs...
Happy days
Alas, the cooler weather means we can no longer keep the windows open...so the plants will have to wait 'til spring. Just give 'em a window with lotsa light like yours, and they're happy :)
ReplyDeleteyes I always love to bring some in...it does change the feel of the home, yours are happy I can tell
ReplyDeleteLovely; I am always worried about bringing outdoor plants inside because there might be bugs living in the dirt.;)
ReplyDeleteI love the light coming in the window on the first shot. Good luck with them inside and enjoy the Fall. I miss this season so much.
ReplyDeletePlants would probably live better in the snow than they would in my house!hehe
ReplyDeleteHalo ~ so sorry to hear your having a rough time...hope things look up real soon. And I hope Lou is liking school! I'll look forward to your blogging again and giving us all an update! xo
ReplyDeleteProtege ~ I did have a Daddy Long Leg try to come with the cyclamen! I think he was living in it!
ReplyDeletewhat a nice post - I need to bring some plants inside too, thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteI usually am able to leave my plants outside until the first weekend in November here. I have a huge philodendron like plant that has gotten too big to be moved anymore. It stays in the living room year round. With all the rain this year, the blooming plants on the front porch are prettier than they have ever been.
ReplyDeleteGreat perspective.
ReplyDeleteLike the color on your walls.
Lovely greenery in your home, Betsy. I would love to bring some into the Hyggehus, but with 4 cats, it's nigh on impossible!
ReplyDeleteIt's still quite warm so I'll leave mine out just a bit longer! Really lovely photos Betsy!
ReplyDeleteManuela
Manuela ~ you southerners have a little bit longer with the warm weather! We're in the 30's at night! Brrr!
ReplyDeleteI heard you could save geraniums, but I didn't have any luck with it. your plants are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteSolar ~ I just brought the geraniums in and treated them like a normal house plant. (watering weekly in a sunny window) They didn't bloom again until spring, but they grew over the winter and were really big!
ReplyDeleteYou have such a beautiful way of decorating and creating a place of peace. Thank you for sharing your home and your thoughts.
ReplyDeleteYvonne ~ well, thanks! That means a lot coming from a talented girl like yourself! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the ivy in particular.
ReplyDeleteFor years we had a monster Spider plant that was incredible but in one move it sadly got detroyed. Now I have another spider plant but just realised I left it outside and its snowed since. Quite sure it;s dead now. Never mind, it was barely making it anyway.
