We have babies!
The old cigar box proved to be the cutest little house
and those eggs were laid, hatched and babies fed in
a matter of days! The other wrens in the tiny bird house
are just now sitting on eggs. Dad comes and goes....
pictures of them on another day.

No babies here yet but I have enjoyed watching the process over at your place. :) That old cigar box is perfect for watching things develop! Who knew?
ReplyDeleteI think they loved that box....up high, under the porch and deep....safe and secure for little ones!
DeleteHa, love it! You find the best uses for all of the vintage and antique things you find... I'm the wrens appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteIt sure was fun to watch but went very fast! Those babies flew off before I was ready! haha.
DeleteGreat photos, Betsy. Don't you love having nesting birds. I feel so privileged, My tree swallows just left to live their life and a house wren is now a busy mom in the other house. So fun.
ReplyDeleteIt is so fun and amazing to watch. I just love it! It's been a while since we've had a nest to watch....it just made my summer!
DeleteAmazing photos, the lightening is beautiful, I hope all is well in your world,
ReplyDeleteAll that white surrounding them really helped with the lighting for photography! I miss them already!
DeleteI love seeing nesting birds! I think your old box was perfect!
ReplyDeleteI think I'll just leave it up there...maybe there will be some new tenants later on!
DeleteSO cute!
ReplyDeleteAren't they? Those baby faces....just the best!
DeleteHi Betsy - how wonderful ... fantastic photos ... such a delight -nature at its best ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteI had to stand just inside the front door with it open just enough for my lens to peek out. They didn't eve know I was watching! haha.
DeleteSure gave them the perfect spot as they feed away. Did they appreciate you taking pics now that they are hatched?
ReplyDeleteI don't think they knew I was there....sneaky girl I am! haha.
DeleteThat is so much fun. The find the perfect place for their nests and raise their babies. You caught some good shots.
ReplyDeleteYep, I think they really liked being under the shelter of the porch!
DeleteSuper shots, Betsy. Great for you to host some birds. They are adorable.
ReplyDeleteThey were so sweet! Already flew the nest! Too fast...just like our kids. haha.
DeleteGlad Mrs Wren was not too cantankerous!!! . . . ad too fussy about the architecture and amenities . . lol
DeleteShe would never get a better house than that old cigar box and she knew it, so he was let iff the hook a bit before he started courting.
Yes my kids flew the nest but come back when they want something . . . lol
